Nice anime, with a last episode full of action and a little of drama, where we can watch and enjoy of a Ikoma figther, fighting against Biba, although is Mumei what kill Biba!!! Kekeke
Happy ends, although only is a step a large travel!!!
I wait in a future a second season, although i think it will be impossible kekeke

In summary, great serie, with a nice elements, a great plot, a anime full of action, nice fights, with nice scenes and better draws!!! Is bloody?! Yes, but the just ;)

8/10.

the ending is kinda cliche. the white serum injected by Biba and taking effect so slow unlike in Mumei's case where it acted immediately although she was farther gone. I would have liked for Mumei to spill some of her blood for Ikome and that to be the antidote.

HAHAHA! What a bullshit ending. After all the atrocities Biba has done he's gonna pull off something like curing Ikoma last minute before he turns? Also if you think about it all why did this even happen? It's because some pink-haired diva hates his father and wants to get back at him for betraying him and what did he do? Killed a lot of innocent people and spewed nonsensical mumbo-jumbo about love and fear and bullshit like they will justify his acts. And what's crazier is that they didn't even explain how he's done it. Where did he get his money and resources for researching about kabanes, how to turn someone into a kabaneri and turn them into that big shadow thing. And what about his men? Why are those fuckers so loyal to him? And I can't believe they let those bastards ride in the train with them.

Overall it was entertaining, not gonna lie. But it was also very annoying and ridiculous in a negative way. Will probably forget about this in a month or two.

I expected much more tragic and apocalyptic ending with more characters death, not only villians. It ended pretty "happy" with everybody include few survayed enemies. Of course if you forget about whole capitol destroyed in epic end with explosions and overrunned by Kabane. But our train group doesn't feel really concern about it so happy end.

This anime was amazing. Too bad that is over..
Many people said that is similar to Shingeki no Kyojin, yes it is a little similar , but i kinda liked this more than SNK...
Anyway my score is 8/10

Hurrah! Evil Hannes has been defeated lololol xD

Welp. That Horohoro (from Shaman King) lookin guy is on the bad side, but I kinda liked him. Mainly cuz he's cute LMFAO but also bc he still had his humanity. Like when he said it didn't matter if the husband donated blood in place of his wife and how he didn't like that asshole picking on the weak after he cut off the husband's arm D:< still mad about that btw. What a fucking punkass piece of shit.

ANYWAYS.
Not bad. Was easy to guess what's gonna happen and it was very similar to SnK in many inferior ways, but I still give it a 7/10 overall.

Now I get why a lot of people are hating on this show because I somehow feel the same now. Note: It took me 5 days to finish this show despite of it only having a 12 episodes. I can finish a 1-cour anime in a day, so that says a lot.

This show started promising. Love the animation (Wit fucking Studio, of course), the soundtrack (Sawano-samaaaa), and the characters (Mumei and Kurusu the most). But for whatever reason it slowly went downhill especially when The Hunters and Biba were introduced. They're the ones who ruined this show for me, tbh. Their introduction and being part of the story is so unnecessary that it pisses the fuck outta me.

This show has a lot of potential and yet it chose to become a "train"wreck. Pun intended. Despite the similarities (a lot) with SnK, I still continue watching this show since I was enjoying it so far, but yeah when Biba was introduced it became something not worth watching anymore.

Talking about the ending. So, Mumei was turned back into human by Ikoma because there's no sign of her being a Kabaneri anymore (that lava-like thing) and miraculously Ikoma still lives because Biba injected him with white blood? Lmao. Did that happen during their fight? Idk, maaan.

So, everyone was saved in the Kotetsujyo. Everyone's safe, Ikoma, Mumei, and Kurusu got back on the train, and is happy again. Alright?

There are a lot of better plot beside the Biba or The Hunter arc to make this show good, but Araki-san chose the worst way and it didn't make me and a lot of fans happy. Lmao. Instead of that, it should've been about how the Kabane started? See?

2/5 for this episode and 7/10 for the whole anime; props to the soundtrack which is a +1 instead of me giving it a 6/10.

Nice episode
Ikoma stopping the train in way I didn't expect..nice one kiddo
The fight should have been longer...I expected biba and ikoma would turn into black cloud and then fight.... disappointed there.

Nice Series btw.

I really liked this one. I found very single episode entertaining and I loved the characters. I think most of the characters were awesome. The main ones were great and I love de that the princess wasn't just a weakling. She was trying hard as well. The train chick is awesome. Even the girl who's taking care of the children was awesome. She was never a coward. So I'm a fan of the characters. I definitely liked the start of the series more though. The kabane vs humans was fun to watch. Then it turned I to humans vs humans and even thought I liked it I would have liked it more if they stuck to the kabane. I hated biba the entire time though. I really feel like it would have been better without him.
But overall I really enjoyed the series and it was honestly kind of addicting haha.
Would love another season. I must see how they fight the kabane.
8/10 for me.

Originally started watching this because of steampunk zombies/'AoT clone' and morbid curiosity about how disappointing of an antagonist Biba was because of a review.

Most of it I like, but wow, seemed like they had to rush the last few episodes. Too bad it wasn't more visible when Biba injected Ikoma with the white serum rather than what? Cut to next scene and flash of light? I'd have to screenshot it as proof for myself.

Anyway, I'd like to see more of this series. Just hoping they don't bring Biba back. And the station where the shogun lived was destroyed so hey, excuse to continue the story as the cast hasn't found shelter yet. Looking forward to the second season which seems to have turned out to be a movie.

the first third of the show was a fun generic apocalypse show, up until it got wrecked. it all started with the discrimination against the real mvps, and increases when they brought in bieber. hopefully theyll learn their lesson as others have said the same thing.

I share the same sentiments with most people. With Biba coming around nobody seemed to have a brain anymore and actually think. None of the real main characters interested me either so there wasn't much left for me to like. Except the music, that's still the best thing of this anime.

Also lol, the injection worked a lot faster on Mumei than Ikoma just to amp up the 'tension'.

Ayame was wonderful this episode. After opening the city's population to slaughter, she helped a few dozen people and help "free their minds and hearts"

Due to helping those dozens of people, she is now fully free from any responsibility for the hundreds of thousands of deaths in the city.

If only there were a few more of Ayame, then humanity would have found eternal peace through the magic of mathematics

Munmei was such a poor thing this episode. Due to being such a poor thing, she is now absolved of her role in smashing up everything this episode and opening the gates to the last fortress. Such a poor thing!

As she strives to make some rice paddies as her dream, i'm not sure there are enough other fortresses left for her dream to come true as fortresses just seem to end up ruins when she visits. No fortresses = no people = have to make some rice paddies in open land.

Ikoma showed how great he was when he actually used his gun and killed off the weakling subordinates. This showed that he was actually aiming for Takumi to die when he did nothing during the train scene despite there being only a bunch of extras in front of him. Why? Because jealousy, as Takumi was so much more handsome than him!

Seeing the Kotestsujyo moving off as Ayame commands, one can only imagine the fate of the next area they visit. As the blessed vehicle of Ayame, Munmei and Ikoma, their destinations only only receive eternal peace and grand excitement of explosions and collapsing cliffs

This was way better than I expected/remembered it to be. I guess knowing that the show is somewhat grounded helps not getting too hyped in the beginning.

Only real problem I had was the Godzilla Laser beam attack, and Ikoma somehow stopping the train with his hand which I expect to also be the godzilla laser beam power.

Other than that it was really surprisingly good. Guess I got caught up in the negative comments last time. People were just mad this wasnt actually AoT I guess.

I thought the series was pretty good but Biba's redemption felt incomplete, he did not seem to want Ikoma to even live. I would have liked a bit more of a clear reason as to why he saved him.

Also was not a fan of how much rice ended being the main hero of the series.

I would rate this somewhere between a 7 and an 8 out of 10. But honestly liked it more than AoT which it is clearly a copy of.

Ikoma survived to that Corpse power booster, aka "Black Blood", huh? Not bad..

The animation itself is really great (as expected of WIT Studio), same artstyle as AOT and especially the OSTs that was used, it really was nostalgic. But everything felt pretty rushed from start till the end. There's some plot holes on some of the eps that makes it a little confusing..

Overall, it was good and enjoyable. I'll rate it 8/10. This should be on par on AOT season 1 if they made it a 25 episode, or at least a 2-cour one

Now let's see on the Movie one. . .

A beautiful anime, I will give it an 8/10 or 7/10. The anime was quite smooth and the characters were also amazing. Still sad about Takumi but eh. Biba is finally gone but he did one good thing and that was that he kept Ikoma alive. That station is completely destroyed and now where are they going to go again? You know, since all the stations are completely destroyed and filled with Kabane. I am glad that Ikoma lives on. No major casualties. Also my one of my fav characters is that guy who speaks English and Japanese mixed. He was funny.

Ikoma is such a beast. He managed to suppress the black blood for so long. The craziest scene was definitely when he stopped the train. The 1v1 against Biba had to happen but I'm glad he was able to save Mumei. Even more fitting that Biba got killed by her. The only thing he wanted was destruction. I understand his intention for getting revenge on his father but why had many innocent people had to die?

I was also sure he would kill Ikoma but instead he injected him the white blood so Ikoma was able to turn back? I'm a sucker for happy endings so it's nice to see almost everyone made it.

I agree with that it began strong and got weaker from the point on where Biba got introduced into the story. We still have no clue about where the Kabane come from and if maybe there's something bigger behind it we don't about so far.

Besides of that I enjoyed it a lot. Like expected by WIT we got stunning animation, wonderful OST's I listened to before even watching the anime and very likeable characters. I'm still interested to see where the story will go from now so I can't wait to see what the movie is about.

8/10

Way to ruin an anime in the last episode. The antagonist, a literal genocider, gets a last minute redemption out of nowhere. He saves the MC for no reason. He gets gently killed by his groomed toy. He even gets a nice funeral with flowers! Seriously, what the hell. Mumei couldn't be more annoying either with the brainwashing. Not really her fault... except she is gullible as fuck. But eh, suddenly, causing mass murder doesn't matter! Let's smile like I'm totally innocent for the last 5 minutes of the episode while totally forgiving my dear onii-sama uwu! Absolutely disgusting.

I was interested in this anime because of studio WIT. And it was pretty crucial to watch it after AOT Season 4 to make some adequate comparisons since Kabaneri is like a casual version of AOT with Japanese setting and uses many ideas from AOT anime.

It became obvious that good plot (even though it's dropped from excellent) and developed characters (even though they changed too much in the end) with subpar direction and animation (thanks for nothing MAPPA) is still better than beautifully looking full of action anime based on subpar plot and typical characters.

It was so boring from the start to the end. For some reason author doesn't understand that characters need some basis and backstory before viewer could sympathize for them, it's too late to demonstrate some short flashbacks during potentially emotional scenes because people aren't some PCs which combine information and instantly react by some rules. All characters are one-dimensional, they talk big, everywhere is disaster and they don't even have a purpose. Antagonist is one of the worst, he is so random and unconvincing.

This is why anime studios nowadays can't do nothing without manga or novel source. You can't do a conveyer scenario without making it total garbage and boredom when animation and direction could be conveyer and still be good since they are technical skills when scenario is kinda art and it's not enough to rely on plot rules and clichés to make something acceptable at least.

I really enjoyed this more than I initially thought, though I agree the ending felt a little rushed.

I was trying to figure out how Ikoma got the white blood, and I'm going to stick by Biba shooting him with it because "he (Biba) wasn't dead yet", thus he wanted him to keep fighting.

I also don't think Biba got any form of redemption, and the only reason he got flowers is because he was such a big part of Mumei's life, despite being a lunatic.

I think some people who watched it just didn't pay attention or it simply wasn't for them, which is understandable. I will say though, this is nowhere like AoT - shame it took me this long to watch it!

It's just one of those shows where it has visible flaws, but yet it was really enjoyable.

This show had the potential to be something like AOT but didn't deliver.

Gonna watch the third movie. Good thing the first two movies aren't mandatory. If they were, I would have stopped the series from here.

Rewatched this after a long time. Initially the only issue this anime had was the overused tropes and stupid biology. Then they had to introduce Biba, a manchild obsessed with revenge. His reason to let loose Kabane was one of the most stupid plot points I have seen. Biba as a villain also detracted from the original goal of the anime. When you give a zombie apocalypse story I want to see how it started and how it ends, not some in fighting among people. The art and soundtrack were great and probably the only reason to watch this. It works as a mindless action flick. 6/10.

This show ended so strongly. The last 3 episodes were amazing IMO. I am curious about the white blood serum. I know it was kinda vague what happened to it. I guess I can assume Biba actually grabbed it, but when did he give it to Ikoma? Was it when he stabbed him and also why would he give it to him? Honestly I had a feeling it was going to show back up but at the same time I wouldn’t have been surprised if one vial broke and there were still left with one during the final fight and Mumei sacrifices herself to so Ikoma could live. Overall great show
