| Tamayo, I didn't even know she was at the fight. On a real though, is this the final arc because there's just been so many deaths. Maybe Muzan has another group of superior Moons or something that would come to his recue towards the end of this arc and then the demon slayer corps have to rebuild because of the heavy losses that have taken place. |
| I think this was the saddest chapter of Kimetsu no Yaiba up until now. Emotional scenes full of love from those ho fell and grieving from those who survived. No need to give a short story of it or write various synonyms of words describing sadness. All who read this chapter know how emotional it was. Anyway, Tokitou and Genya are confirmed dead... Genya died in a way demons die because of Kokushibou's demon cells he absorbed, which was even more dramatic than Tokitou's death after being cut in several pieces. @rommelcedric , u wot mate...? This was not a filler. It didn't have any element characteristic for fillers, lol. @Pink2646 , same here. Like, I thought Genya might make it alive and become eventually a Pillar despite not being able to use Breaths. He could've learned one maybe... well, my initial thoughts were like that. In regular dull shounens it would have probably gone like that, but Kimetsu no Yaiba is different. More realistic and serious. Upper Moon 1 was no joke and no-one was safe until Kokushibou's body started disappearing. That's one of the reasons Iove Kimetsu no Yaiba. ;) |

He has nothing to lose now. He will definitely attack Muzan all out even if it kills him. I also have an ominous feeling he will die too.π |

| With the whole Kokushibo fight finally finished and the aftermath felt, I feel like I can finally comment on it. As for the fight itself, I'm sure once it's animated I'll have a much higher appreciation for it but as it is now, this was probably the least interesting fight for me. The way they all worked together at the end was good and how they decapitated him was metal. This was definitely the most brutal fight, even if I wasn't finding the actual combat that engaging. And man, Kokushibo was a dick from birth it seemed, his backstory didn't really do much to make him more sympathetic, but it was interesting for filling in some gaps in the plot. And I did find the flute thing effective, seeing his brother still carrying it after death and the poetic recurrence with Kokushibo carrying it on after his brother's death. I do like the backstory, I just don't feel for him in the same way it made me feel for Hakuji. I also really liked the focus on brotherly relationships throughout this battle. Genya's death matches with Kokushibo, as like Kokushibo he was the weak one seeking to reach his brother's power, though Genya wasn't by jealously but guilt, and managed to find his resolution by saving his brother. Muichiro's reunion with his brother was sweet, and their relationship similarly had a power disparity, with Yuichiro knowing Muichiro was a chosen one. Yuichiro's reaction was more to just keep Muichiro from any life of violence so he could leave on, he was harsh but it was certainly came from a caring and hurt place, as shown by his initial demand for Muichiro to return to living. I rather like that all these similar relationships are threaded together and resolve in the same chapter(s), Genya/Senami's goodbye, Muichiro/Yuichiro, and Kokushibo/Yoriichi. All strained relationships with power disparities, all with misjudged feelings (with a lack of perceived loved from one side to the other), and all making their love for each-other explicitly shown here, though due to the path taken in life, Kokushibo is the only one who doesn't get the catharsis of expressing it, maybe unable to even recognizing it. I also like the his question about why he was born to Yoriichi from the end of the last chapter, was more or less answered with the conversation between Muichiro & Yuichiro. At the very least, that's just more of the connective tissue placed between the relationships. |

| I expected Sanemi to die during this battle, but man both Muichiro and Genya? The fact that they were just teenagers makes this even sadder. I have read 40 chapters today (from 139). After this one I think it's time to take a break. |
