| So far the only non-sequel animes that I scored with a note higher than a 7 have been B the Beginning and Killing Bites. Hataraku Saibou is probably going to end in a high note as well. If we count sequels too, then I would include the 4th season of Full Metal Panic, though all the sequel hype will come this Fall, with Index and JewJew. |

| Violet Evergarden was easily the best anime of 2018 I've watched so far Steins Gate 0 is still airing but it's gonna be good obviously AOT S3 is very promising so far Hinamatsuri was a great SOL |
| My AOTY is still Yuru Camp, and I wrote an overlong wall of text about why a story about girls being in tents is the anime of the decade. Sora Yori mo Tooi Basho and Hisone to Masotan get the closest behind, but both had more of an erratic structure and while I absolutely love their highs, they had some significant lows throughout. Going on with the rankings: 4. Koi wa Ameagari no you ni 5. Violet Evergarden 6. Hakumei to Mikochi 7. Hinamatsuri 8. Comic Girls 9. Devilman: Crybaby 10. Megalo Box 11. Wotaku ni koi wa muzukashii 12. Mitsuboshi Colors are all great. From this season I see strong potential in a few, and Revue Starlight could even become a viable AOTY candidate, but I'll refrain from putting them on a ranked list till they are finished. |

| For me personally those are: Sora yori mo Tooi Basho - This would be my top pick because it has changed my life and the way I view things now Gun Gale Online - I had a great time with it Toji no Miko - This one taught me a few valuable lessons Comic Girls - It somehow excited me to see someone just as awkward as myself Uma Musume - Got my heart racing I excluded all sequels, currently still ongoing shows, and also upcoming ones. |
