Bro I literally love manga that has less words than usual. I don't like reading, this manga seems like the right fit for me, and its not that long either, man, its defo on my list.
Kaiba is on the same table when it comes to trippy anime, it hangs around with NGE, Serial Experiments Lain. I would not call it a slow burner, rather a slow uncovering of the mystery that resides in the world of Kaiba. It is episodic at face value but each episode wont make sense without the previous, then later towards the end, theres an actual overaching mini arc which ties in the previous 'episodic' episodes, though I would have given the anime a 10 (and i dont give out 10's cheaply) I think when it went non-episodic, it went down in quality, but thats only my lame ass opinion lmao.
In Kaiba's universe, memories can be stored as information via a memory chip so when individuals die, their minds live on. This digitization of mental information allows for the transfer of one's mind to someone else's body, and the theft and manipulation of other people's memories has become the norm.
People fight and struggle for others' memories and thier own, even being able to search through memories to see if someone is who they say they are or learn more about their past.
Do not be put off by the art. It may look very cartoony but it's essential for the atmosphere. OST's trippy and melancholy. The animation and movement it self is very well done, making for some very cool action scenes! It saddens me that I can't give it a 10
Technical answer: I knew what anime was for as long as I remember. I stopped without realising it around 2013 and then my real first attempt of watching anime was in 2021 with AOT, then I got a bit of a DBZ obession for over 3 years so that was the only anime I focused on
Now: Im a serious watcher. I will give any anime a chance and I take it very seriously
