I like that the movie was more than the usual punch fest that the previous movies are. Of course there was still the epic final battle, but overall it wasn't the main focus. Only in Luffy's mind.

Also the whole reveal by the main crew felt like Lupin lulz. Though the entire time they were talking I thought Luffy came out of the fountain the same time as Franky and they left him to drown in the salt water just like they left him out of the plan :p Tesoro was an entertaining villain too.

I just finished watching it in a theater in DUB.
It was really good, better than Z, but Strong World is still the best.
Also some nice cameos, maybe they will appear back in the show.

Yoooooooooooo this was really good! The first half of the movie is pretty good but not as good as the last half, damn these fights were epic.

Luffy was epic throughout the whole movie and especially when he saved nami and carina and then went to gear 4, HOLY SHIT THAT WAS EPIC.

The characters were great! Carina is a character that i now want to be made canon and appear in the main story. Tesoros background was very short but had alot of emotional impact, this just fueled my hate towards the celestial dragons. Sabo is an awesome brother XD.

The soundtrack was once again amazing, made the fights so epic.

Overall 9/10, it was a amazing movie but i just think that the first half could have had a bit more action. What i mean by this is that when i want to rewatch this the first hour might be pretty boring, but the second half will be great. Eitherway a very solid movie

A nice movie.
Tesoro was a slave of the Tenryuubito, I wonder if the girl he wanted to save died when they escaped.
Carina stole the ship.

Lmao Carina was awesome at the end.

I like Gild Tesoro, his backstory and overall character have more potential, I wish they didn't just show clips of his backstory, even though it's well enough to be fully understood. Aside from that, a few action scenes looked real good.

The story and characters of this movie however, are really meh. There's too many "rile up the strawhats" moments that it felt really forced. None of the other characters had much importance/significance other than Carina and Tesoro, though I am not a fan of the Nami x Carina relationship and their history together. The red haired girl's final moment was lame, but on the plus side, she was hot.

There were also a lot of forced "cool one liner" in this movie that didn't fit.

It's had the fun factor of Strong World and the ambition of Film Z, just not everything clicked in this movie.

Tesoro wasn't that interesting like Z from film Z

Never trust in dicksuckers, always go with a blank mind into a Movie/series.
The Movie telepgraphed the subordinates as clowns and that was as what I took them. Nothing is a 10/10 till you confirm that to yourself and One Piece has the worst judgement on this site.

Really enjoyed this highly ENTERTAINMMENNTUUUU movie.
I felt for the villain with his past, the celestial are just shit like usual.

Really enjoyed the deceiving nature of the movie too, Carina switching sides was really unpredictable because of her back story.
Not showing us the whole backstory until the end is GENIUS, like, it made all the other scenes much more enjoyable! And the backstory with Nami was everything.

Carina's character is just really enjoyable, and that last trick was hilarious and fitting, I loved it.
Nami, being serious and actually having some focus with a friend was really awesome, I love her character but she only seems like a shadow of herself these days.

The animation was magnificent, but the music is where it's at! I sometimes lost focus and just wanted to listen to the damn music, hell, why can't we have some of these tracks in the show?!

There were some derp fanservice moments, but for the pure ENTERTAINMENTOO I got out of this I give it 10/10

We don't get to see the crew together often now in the main story so this was such a treat.

I REAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY hope Oda sensei reintroduces Carina in the story again, please! She has perfect chemistry with Nami

As expected of a OP film, it was quite good. The art especially stood out and made the lackluster story bearable.

It's ENTERTAINMENT , Great movie.

I loved the StrawHat outfits for Gold, Robin was especially fabulous. :D

I honestly loved that race in the beginning, That was so cool man. Especially the way they presented it.
Comedy was great and everything was just really fun to watch.

So many epic moments, They sure nailed all those epic StrawHat scenes, especially when they deceive Tesoro. That was the best one of them all. Zoro was savage with the whole despair line. XD
Art and Animation were great, I don't think the use of CG in anyway downplayed the overall quality. Action scenes in particular were excellent.

The Sabo cameo with HIKEN was EPIC. That was like so damn cool. XD
I also loved Luffy's G4 transformation from under Tesero's hand. You know it's coming and you can't wait to see it. The movie did a real good job of getting me hyped up and pumping that adrenaline.

The overall theme of Freedom was presented well, Kinda sad how Tesero became like the Tenryuubito and enslaved people. One of my favorite moments in the movie was that little exchange between Lucci and Sabo
Lucci: Is this your justice?
Sabo: No, It's freedom.

Well it looks like I only have praise for the movie. The story might not have been the greatest, The fights were not the greatest, Tesero could have definitely been fleshed out more but the movie succeeded in what it had to to do. Entertainment! That's all that counts.

Also Carina at the end was epic. xD

Easily the best One Piece film so far even if the standards aren't too high, I could have imagined this as a full arc in the source material even if Gild was a pretty generic villain

Also quite a lot Franky material for my liking compared to the other films, I approve.

The movie were enjoyable, though there is somethings I can pick on. I agree the animation were a bit weird some places and different from the animation we are used to in the series. But I think different style is ok to try out. At least it worked to a degree here. The plot on the other side were very decent. Some facepalms here and there. Like it was very weird that Nami didn't understand Carina's intention after being with her in the past.

The biggest facepalm were in the end when they really thought Tesoro would blow the whole place up. Though I didn't think about it while watching the movie, it is pretty predictable that an unconscious man can't do anything, certainly not blow up a ship. From his behavior you could be sure he wouldn't be so stupid to blow his ship up. Beside, I think it were actually sad it weren't heroic end. That would be so awesome and make the movie so much better than try to troll us with a predictable movement.

I also think it's was negative that Lucci vs. Sabo were so short. They should have gotten more screen-time. I think it's was very unnecessary to see all the crews old fighting tricks. Would instead see more of Sabo's fight. I know his techniques won't be shown before they are reveled by Oda-sensei, but it would have been pretty awesome if the ones he used in Dressrosa were shown here too.

But I totally agree that the music and sound were very good and loved the new OST they used. From all the things you can rate (like animation, characters, enjoyment, etc.) music were the best one. It's the one I think they did best job on.

Overall, the movie were enjoyable, though it had it's downsides. 7/10 is a rating which I think is pretty fair.

Finally saw this...you have no freaking Idea how annoying it is to wait these Beautiful Movies in Scandinavia when they are not arriving into our Theaters.

Well have to say, we knew that Tesoro was Antagonist but it made quite obvious start to show that there was something rotten in that Place when those kids arrived.

and Wait that is ABSALOM!? in the tower eating when Franky and Luffy are climbing up.

I don't pity Tesoro for his past, or feel any kind Sympathy....He had quite Sad Past, but he made his bed and bacame monster...Pretty sure that his Stella would have slapped him if they had ever meet again.

Loved the Scene with Usopp and co faking as Tenryuubito

Just watched it. Not a bad movie, but nothing special.
Tesoro made golden armor for the commanders, which gave them increased physical strength. THAT MAKES NO FCKIN SENSE whatsoever...
Shame that Zoro got captured. Had some funny parts, the story was lackluster. Animation was allright. Sabo's and Lucci's screentime was too short, and seemed like Luffy didn't even notice that Sabo was there. LAME!
The easter-eggs were great! :D
Baccarat and Carina were hot af, and Brook's clothes with that red lipstick were really on point so it's a 7/10 from me.

Well animation was great and it's always fun to see straw hats playing around but generally I can't see this movie as anything but jump for money which is very fitting considering the gold theme.

Despite the fact that villains had pretty overpowered fruits, all off them were really disappointing.

Other than the guy who Zoro decimated, it didn't seem like others even knew Haki. The large head dude other than using his fruit had no attacking power at all and he used the most useless in one piece weapon which is gun. Tesoro ended up being Pika2.0 and maybe even worse as Pika at least showed the full body haki. Lastly the red haired girl who definitely had the most overpowered fruit out there had 0 fighting power as well... then again if someone who could use Haki and was strong fighter had their fruit then it wouldn't make sense that Straw hats could easily defeat her.

I will not even start complaining how the only interesting fight was skipped... then again we all knew that it would be too good to be true to have Sabo vs Rob Lucci. ... but truly, I would give up the entire 2 hours long movie to see even 5min long Sabo vs Rob Lucci fight.

With villians being bad, the movie couldn't be good but oh well, as I mentioned it's nice to see straw hats playing around and we also saw their moves with nice animation, so that was cool. We also got some easter eggs with Wanze and Absalom and probably few others that I missed. Then Spandam getting pistoled into the ground sure felt nice.

As for most interesting part of the movie. It would be Rob Lucci conversation with Akainu as while sure it wasn't cannon but with Oda being in the staff as well it hints us what kind of relations CP0 have with Navy.

The Carina and Nami backstory bothered me; first they show us Carina betraying Nami, then Nami having no qualms about teaming up with her again despite that. When Nami then saves Carina during the boss fight where it turns out Carina actually saved Nami; which would have been obvious to anyone if they had let the previous flasback run 10 seconds longer. Only for Nami to be fooled in the most predictable way ever.

Isn't Luffy supposed the go into chibi mode after using Gear Third? He didn't seem that affected by all the time spent in seawater either.
So I guess that luck stealing power is more of a draining thing, with it refilling later? Because neither Luffy nor Sanji had any more bad luck after they left the VIP room.

Luffy hasn't gone chibi after using Gear Third since the timeskip, it was one of the many results of the training. Otherwise I agree with most of these. I'm glad they showed the full backstory otherwise I would've been bothered by how Nami escaped but the reveal just made their conversation prior to the first flashback a complete misdirect. I can't really figure out why the language would be laced with that bitterness and questioning nature if Nami had figured out that Carina actually saved her. It makes her quick acceptance of Carina land a bit better though I guess. The Luck stealing power was definitely a thought that occurred to me, though that's a no biggie. And yeah, Luffy shouldn't have been able to punch the door like that while engulfed in seawater. Completely unrelated but their outfits during their 'steal his money' mission were really stupid. Brooke even commented that his was dumb.

Anyway, of those issues the flashback one is the only one I really hold against the film but it's not the only complaint. I don't mind not getting Lucci/Sabo but I was a little perplexed but Lucci seemingly not caring about Sabo anymore, it can't even be said that he let him escape, it was just like he had a visitor and it was time for him to go home. I know Sabo's not really in the mission (neither was Usopp back in Water Seven but that didn't stop them from taking him) but he's one of the most important figures in the Revolutionary Army. Spandam's appearance in the film was fun though, and I loved that brief scene with Lucci & Akainu.

Villian-wise Tesoro was one of the best of the One Piece films, but I still have my issues. When he very early on killed somebody because they laughed without his permission I immediately wrote him off as another boring one note One Piece villain. Then we got a brief snippet of his past, a hint to what would come later. Later on we get his full backstory, illustrated in quick scenes between the symbols branded into him, representing the change in his perspective over time as his history twisted experiences. I loved this sequence, it's frankly my favorite of the film. It doesn't justify his position but it gives enough context that I can accept it, some added depth. Then later in the film he takes Nami and Luffy delivers a fantastic short speech that causes Tesoro to briefly recollect his own past experiences before resorting to his speech. My problem comes with the fact that that was all. If we had gotten some terrible development where Tesoro suddenly changed his stance and aligned with Luffy or repented for his actions, the movie would've been ruined for me but the alternative of nothing isn't exactly fulfilling. If you're going to bother incorporating a tragic backstory to a villain, I'd expect some sort of resolution to it be the end. It could've been something as simple as a single line of reflection as he fades into unconsciousness (in fact, that's the best way to go imo). But instead, there's nothing after that earlier moment. I appreciate the addition but with the way things played out it feels superfluous. That really bothered me, it's probably my biggest gripe in the film. With the really ugly CGI being the second flaw.

Otherwise this was a really fun & solid film, with a surprisingly amazing soundtrack (the previous films at best had one good song they contributed to the series). It's either my second or third favorite One Piece, at this point it's basically tied with Movie 7 (Movie 6 is my favorite btw). 7/10, pretty close to an 8 though.

Start the film very well, but the minutes advances was the typical action film, without nothing special...

...we can watch fights, runnings, tears, with the ever mixed of action and funny, although the emotional style was weak...

... For me was entertaning, but not the best for this great Pirate Band, the Mugiwara!!!

He´s a filler character, there was no point to it. Honestly it wass the worst part of the Movie because it didn´t have to be there.

Making Tesoro just a greedy guy that was corrupted by wealth would have been perfect, instead they created this half assed bullshit excuse for his badness (pun intended). Since Black Cat I haven´t seen a villain backstory that was as bad.

Explain your definition of proper to me, please.

Tesoro became rich, through unknown means. Opened a casino by creating a huge ship with his funds off screen that bribes the world government to overlook his crimes.

None of that relates in any way to his girflriend being sold as a slave, none.
Idk or care about Z, he could be amazing starring in a great Movie.

I assume you meant to say "It" in the second paragraph; Regardless of implication the execution is garbage.

You cannot as a writer tell your audeince.
Here is point A and here is point C fill in the blanks yourself and expect praise or money.

This is basicly what we got with his character.

There are also a bunch of thematic mistakes.

Will money get his girlfriend back? No!
Was his past tragic? Yes!
Does he need children as slaves for his profit? No!
Is he more powerful than the Tenryubito? No!
Does he intend to get revenge on the ones who harmed him? No!
Do we ever learn how he got his money? No!
Do we ever learn anything about his girlfriend aside from that fact and her design? No!
Do we learn anything about their relationship? No.
Was Tesoro ever a likeable character throughout the runtime of the Movie? No!
What grants Tesoro more power his money, his crew, or his DF? We don´t know!
Is Tesoro´s crew loyal, or are they allied with him for the privileges? We don´t know!

There you go. That´s all the reasons why the flashback was horseshit.

As I originally stated, the flashback was the biggest problem I had there wasn't enough explanation and needed to have more time focussed on it. Also no one would ever try to get revenge on the celestial dragons with the amount of power they have. The reason should be obvious.

the movie was good, but I kinda getting tired of all talking while battle.

Tesoro are pretty powerful, looking at Gol Gol no Mi, it was easy for him to become rich with his power. but as expected, his power is useless against sea water, which turn his entire ship into junk when the sea water rain down.

Tesoro powers remind me of Sengoku, they both had the same Gold attribute, but different type.

I such a devil fruit user like Tesoro exist in canon story, I don't think Luffy can beat them in a easy way. infact, Gold attribute are one of many attribute that give luffy disadvantage (the other was fire, magma, etc)

Just seen the movie.

The first 30 minutes were very good. The setting was visually spectacular to look at and just a really interesting place that they came up with.

It went downhill from there. Yet again the same old cringey fan service where all the female characters have to have their tits out and they have to zoom in on them. Other cringey moments like the kid who said he was gonna fight.

Didn't care for the whole heist bit. In fact the story in general wasn't really that great. The villain was decent but a step down from Z in the last one.

Can't say it was particularly funny but after so long and the humour being so repetitive and predictable it doesn't really so it for me anymore.

The action...again not great but neither were the previous movies.

Overall it was definitely better than the original One Piece movies. Probably about on par with Strong World, not as good as Z.

I get the sense I've started to outgrow this whole series to be honest.

Hey Spandam got punched in the face again, instant 8 in my book.

That was just a fun One Piece episode, nothing more than that though.

And once again, the Straw Hats are broke lmao

Seriously though, this was an insanely good OP film and it's gonna be difficult to top.
I honestly wouldn't have minded this to be an arc in the main story- Tesoro was a really cool villain and I liked the way his past was revealed in snippets.
Lol at young Tesoro looking like freakin' Ace and Stella looking like Nami. Plus the parallels between Tesoro/Stella and Luffy/Nami. Nice touch ;)

Sabo and Koala even turned up!!
Before this film I never even thought about a Lucci vs. Sabo, but now I'm totally down with it. Screw a Luffy vs. Lucci rematch, I want Lucci vs. Sabo in the final arc- CP-0 vs. The Revolutionaries!!

Kind of sad that Carina isn't a canon character in the main series- she's really great!
"Girls need brains to survive."

It was also pretty interesting to see Zoro in a more vulnerable position since it only usually happens with the weaker members...but hey, with the current arc we seem to be breaking out of that trend a little.

Overall it was a fun One Piece movie! 8/10

I had a blast watching One Piece Gold. It felt like a real treat for One Piece fans!

I loved the opening scene with the singing and performances, and the introduction to the golden ship. Thought that was visually entertaining

The final battle did quite drag though.

Also I loved that Absalom easter egg!

One Piece: Golden Dressrosa the Movie should have been the title.
Main Villain is basically a variation of Doflamingo. Even the motives and backgrounds of them are similar.
I already know that Sabo, Rob Lucci would contribute a little to the movie. Jokes and gags are funny.
Final fights are disappointing. I was expecting more from this movie. Fights in the movie Z are far superior and entertaining than this.

One Piece Film Gold is one of the BEST One Piece movies EVER!!! The enemies are interesting and they fought pretty well! A number of details in every scene are EPIC! This is just so amazing...

However, I found the Film Z SLIGHTLY more interesting because the audio and the 1 VS 1 battle is better. So this movie is a 9/10

The moment the Strawhats fooled Tesoro IS A GOLDEN MOMENT!!!
