Oh well Kabaneri learn fast because cool main characters need no training, easy way to power him up without letting much time pass by. Useless conflicts again...
There were 2 nice transitions though and an awesome night sky that lasted only seconds in the background. Those vibes between kurusu and ayame, lol. Ikoma is near to becoming a pedo xD

It's not really just Kabaneri, the Wazatori can exist for the same reason, if so this is not just 100% pure plot convinience.

Well, it woudn't be a story surrounding humans if there wasn't useless conflic. We humans are basically "Useless conflic" the living being.

Ikoma will only be a pedo if they don't wait some years to do.......stuff.
Did I call it plot convenience? No, you did. You know why you called it like that? Because that's what it is. You said it yourself lol. And you stated that it is not 100% that means you can't completely deny the convenience.

@Darklight0303 that doesn't make it less convenient but at least it makes it not an asspull.

That conflict in the shop was forced af and Ikoma is not blameless, why did he provoked the guy, man you are in a foreign city and that is one of the guards of the city and the shopkeeper was saying that you were there first, there was no need to say "we were here first" with the tone of "fuck off".

I shall repeat myself "Ikoma is near to becoming a pedo xD"

Also Ikoma's clothes suck but that's nothing new.

Kind of nice to get a chill breather episode after all these action-packed, intense ones. With Mumei's brother showing up at the end I look forward to seeing what he and the Liberators are capable of. And lol at the blond guy, "no more desu!" He's awesome.

Yes lol, i don't deny the convenience, i just don't see the convenience as a problem, you don't need to point out what i know because i myself said it. It just that the way you put it make it sound like you have a problem with it.

Never seen nonsensical conflicts start out of nowhere? It happens all the time (specially in the internet) . And many people get easily triggered when others just come and steel their turn out of nowhere (like in queues for example), looks like Ikoma is one of those people.

So we found out the "game end" for the series. Well destroying Kabane and saving the girl... pretty standard.

But given the fact of how far the series progressed so far and the fact that it's episode 7 already.

Yea, good luck with this series having an ending.

Ikoma telling Mumei about forgetting her lunch and reminding her to give thanks before drinking their lunch, lol, he's like Mumei's big brother, it's kinda cute, especially when she's reminded of her little sis in that scene.

I liked that vow he made to turn her back into human, that's sweet.

Best scene was when Kurusu saw Ayame stuffing her face with biscuits. Even when she has her mouth full she's flawless. Even the lords are mesmerized by her beauty.

Sad thing is his new goals are basically upgraded versions of his previous goals: creating a weapon that can destroy kabane and finding a cure to the kabane infection. We already know how successful he was in those endeavors.

Mumei's not gonna get a happy ending, but at least Ikoma's invention will spread and usher in an era of inter-station warfare kabanae-free peace.

This episode wasn't really up to par tbh, sometimes it's as if the writing was done by someone Mumei's age and the humor mostly fell flat.

Animation took a noticeable hit, new still image record despite a lack of intensive action scenes. I guess the animators are busy drawing the next action scene which should hopefully raise the bar.

Everyone seemed fine and dandy in no-time despite what they've been throuh. This show has still hasn't really decided if it wants to take itself seriously.

I like how Mumei is growing into a replacement for Ikomas dead sister, they should expand on that relationship.

Idk I felt like it just became glaringly obvious that most of the charactes really aren't that well written. This show is good with action but so far it hasn't been that good at anything else.

Please dont gop full anime please dont go full anime.

Hope they don't fall too heavily into main hero has to save the girl in a somewhat paternalistic fashion. Thats not wrong but will probably involve turning Mumei a bit pathetic instead of a more Revy-like character.

Seemed like a by the numbers episode for budgetary or timing or some random reason.

Glad to see that they found a station where they can finally rest & get off the Koutetsujou.
Ikoma learning a bit of swordsmanship. Might be seeing him become a competent sword fighter in the future.

Mumei looks cute in her new outfit & nice to see everyone just relax. So her real name is Hodsumi.
Ikoma making promises to Mumei.

Nice to see that they could celebrate Tanabata together & those fireworks were beautiful.
Everyone announcing their wishes.
I bet Kurusu's wish is something like staying with Ayame forever & protecting her.
The Hunters have arrived. This Biba-sama is Mumei's brother.

I disagree, this episode was much needed, so we can know a bit more about the characters and they can interact with each other. There is no point on having just action if people don't care about the characters and don't mind if they die or whatever. They also talked about their goals and we know more now about their personalities and their pasts. I don't see how any of that is bad.

I actually liked the change of pace and the small pause, otherwise it would have been a bit repetitive, so many episodes with just fights on the train on similar environments. Also I don't know if you noticed but they gave a bit more info about the main plot and at the end they presented a new character... On my opinion the episode was very complete.

I think the episode was alright, more of a transition after the rough battles and everything.

Mumei is much more cheerful and I find the episode rather relaxing with the causal outfits. Yukina is also more kinder than I had expected. Glad to see Ayame take on a bit more of a leadership role as well. Mumei's flashbacks also really seems to make her feel nostalgic with the people around her. Not bad for a breather overall, Mumei seemed much more human like a normal girl rather than a Kabaneri. I find her relationship with Ikoma to be kinda cute.

More troops introduced...should be interesting to see how their roles will play out rest of the season.

Agreed the ep is really relaxing but there's something really suspesious those guys what they were talking about 10 years ago ??

Aww this episode totally boosted everyone's likability. Including Kurusu. So obvious he wants Ayame to like him. But why the hell he getting so embarrassed over seeing her eat? Not like she was nude. These bushi.

Loved how Ikoma kicked that Bushi's ass. Serves his bitch ass right. Love how even Takumi wouldn't take shit, although 3 wives? Don't be a dog.

Yukina still being the best girl, but Mumei is a close second, she was really cute this ep.

Steal his moves.
"Got it"
"What!" had me chuckle right off the bat.

Well this is a breather episode so its good for them to get some relaxing time.
Nice job Ikoma kicking that Bushi's ass, training is paying off quite well.
Kurusu seeing Ayame eating was quite cute. Especially seeing the hard-ass Kurusu so flustered was refreshing. He's not that much of a dick anymore.
Well Tanabata, glad they could celebrate it while they can.

So Mumei's name was Hodsumi before her Aneki gave her a real name, thinking this name might play a part later seeing as the only other person who knows it is Ikoma.
Speaking of Aneki, We finally get to see him and I dare say I didn't quite expect that lol.
Also these Liberator, Im putting my money on that most if not all of them are Kabaneri and may try to recruit Ikoma.
Wonder what Ikoma is going to do...

The Art of Shipping is no mere game. It can be small skirmishes to huge nation size wars.
Of course some will claim their ship is the BATTLESHIP but they all do. This is why battles occur because of factions fighting each other to justify their favourite ship.
And thus SHIP to SHIP combat occurs almost anytime even now.
Beware, Threading into the Shipping battlefield will be bloody.... What are you waiting for?

I almost fell asleep with how dull this episode was and lets also note, are filler episodes like these really needed when it will have only 12 episodes in the first place.

Feels like this anime is going nowhere... but hey lets ship people together instead for a whole episode which most likely won't even move anywhere anyways... *sigh* this anime.

I remember watching a historical drama about Toyotomi Hideyoshi, there was a scene where he watched intently as his wife, One, was eating; it was explained to me that back then one of the qualities sought in high-born women was a "beautiful" eating habit (if I recall the standards were to eat quietly, in small portions, can't open their mouths too much, lips have to be as close to O-shape as possible - no innuendo there, I'm sure) and that scene was to both serve as a contrast in their difference in birth and Hideyoshi appreciating yet another aspect of his perfect wife.

Since Ayame was along and probably hungry/frustrated at the long wait, it looks like she didn't bother keeping up proper eating manners when Kurusu barged in, so it was a social faux pas.

One of my favorite parts of this series is Ikoma and Mumei's relationship. It's very interesting to see how Ikoma has sort of adopted Mumei in place of his dead sister, and is becoming very protective of her. I just REALLY hope they don't make Mumei's character into a weak little girl because of this...

I'm assuming that at some point, Mumei will have to choose between Biba (who is supposedly using her and stuff) and Ikoma. It'll be a full out "fuck off, this is my imouto >:( " war, hehehe.

Place your bets now on who's going to die: Mumei or Ikoma?

Man, this episode has obviously less flaws but it is completely dragged out. Do they really think that this episode can flesh out their mass of characters?
• “Kabaneris can learn very fast.” Mamamia.
• No body checks at all. Well done plot.

Don't know about flesh out but it made me like them more yes.....

And even if the body check didn't showed doesn't mean it didn't happened, after all it already cuts to everyone out of the train after the opening. For Mumei's case, in episode 1 she was excused of the body check cuz of her privileges or something, so Ayame just need to give the word and she's excused again.

I still can't believe this anime scored way too decent at this site, while re zero which is pretty boring almost half of each episode got higher score.
I'm not saying re zero is bad, really. The concept is unique, characters are really well-made, but seriously most of each episode has it stretched just by dialogues and everyday stuffs.
I can't shake my feeling that they like re zero more because of the girls' designs are way prettier than kabaneri.

Completely disagree, re:zero's girls might be kind of cute, by they don't even come close to some in Kabaneri. Ayame and Yukina are easily the hottest girls this season imo.
People probably like re:zero more because it has an engaging story with likable characters and fun interctions.
Kabaneri has hot girls... and cool action sometimes.

Ok, now I'm hoping for a explosive ep next week right? I think this anime really needs a breather after 2-3 action heavy eps.

I already feel bad for the calm and quiet station they're in, there were cute moments but there were mysterious conspiracy going on too.

Mumei opening about her past more is good to see and now that her brother is in play, things are bound to be interesting.

Many major characters got the opportunity to show their personalities especially seeing Yukina having a kind heart. So we should expect a Kurusu x Ayame perhaps?
