Moreover, did anyone notice how Mari seems to have super-healing powers or something? xD She went from sick/feverish(?) to getting an head injury (with bleeding), and then as she's searching for Mirai and Yuuki, she's suddenly all better? (no blood, not feverish anymore, etc.)

That's what disappointed me a bit in this episode actually. I guess she might have recovered from her fever after resting/Aya's cares but what about her injury? She was even bleeding and when she got out of that building the blood suddenly disappeared. =|

Yeah, the disappearing blood bothered me a bit. I doubt some person just decided to wipe the blood off of Mari passed out and just leave her there afterwards. Ah well.

This episode is little weak, but the story did well. The animation needs to be better, though.

Mari has been the emotionless strong figure but it finally caught up with her. We also got to see some nice flashbacks of her life. It will be interesting to see where we will go from here. OMG Hina is so cute, I hope she’s ok.

I don't see what's so weak about the episode.

Given the fact Mari has been portrayed so far as this super-strong woman emotionally/mentally. It's about time she showed some human traits of fear and anxiety?

I think I see the tragedy, and it reminds me of, some of you will hate this comparison, Bakemonogatari. Mainly the concept that being too selfless is itself a fault. In the show I mentioned, there was an arc where the main character could only survive if he allowed some other person to killed for a curse that this other person had laid upon another earlier in his life. In the end, the main character was persuaded to look after himself rather than try to save a person he didn't even know from the disaster he had sown against others. That's what Mari seems to have. She is trying to save everyone, and the brutal shock will be when she can't. If this show stays honest and brutal, I am sure we are going to find that Mari's daughter is dead and that she could have been saved if only Mari had, at some point, left the kids. Here, this episode, was her chance to seek out her own daughter, she even had someone volunteer to take care of the kids while she looked. She rejected that chance, and I hope the end of this series drives the point instead of shying away and giving a fully happy ending.

Definitely not one of the better episodes.

Also, logically, a person in Mari's situation wouldn't give a shit about two kids he/she doesn't know and rush back to their own home.

It wasn't so bad but obviously wasn't the best out of the 6. I love near the end when Mari was like "lets return the bike, we all can't get home together on that". :D

Nice episode. Glad to see a bit of Mari's past. And I don't think that her snapping was random. Up until those new about fire, she knew she could rely on her mother to protet Hina. But now there's a fire and as seen in her nightmare even her mother might be helpless in this situation. But Mirai and Yuuki need someone to look after them, too. Obviously those two can't go by themselves and they don't know Aye as much as Mari who has even managed to get Mirai warm up to her.

Another brilliant touching episode, don't understand why so many are calling this the weakest. Sure the animation wasn't so great, but I didn't even notice that. Mari is now getting the character developemnt she needs, a welcome change from always being so cool calm mother-like. Also love how Mirai and Yuuki went to the trouble of getting Mari a bike. The way Mirai's compassion has grown is particularly enjoyable towatch throughout this show.

Didn't notice too much with the animation quality this episode.
Mari's definitely pushing herself way too hard. They could have stayed a little while in the office or something 'till she felt better.

Probably was the weakest episode yet, but Tokyo Tower can't collapse every episode. We needed some backstory to Mari, as mildly forced as it seemed.

Anyone notice the dog in the background holding what looks a severed hand in its mouth? The scene is where Mari takes a look around her office building right before going in.

Edit: Tried looking around to see if anyone else noticed it and found out that there is a censored version where its only just a dog but with no hand in its mouth.

Oh god, this dog shot.

Didn't notice any drop in animation (that said I'm watching a BD rip, so that might be it), and the story felt as good as always: development on Mari, with visions which I'm sure every person who's had a fever has experienced. It was less dramatic in a way, but I'd rather have a little variety than drama all the time.

I liked this episode! Mari's backstory was nice to see and I'm glad she got more of a focus this time. It was so touching when she was talking about her daughter and then when she told Mirai and Yuuki she was staying with them.

Weakest episode so far. The majority of it was spent on Mari's circumstances, yet she didn't get any character development. The plot didn't progress either. Lol at the sudden anemia. -.-;

This has been doing pretty well up until now. I hope the upcoming episodes are better.

Meh. This episode was pretty boring.

That dog with the hand in its mouth was gross.

I wonder what was up with that flashback? I hope we learn more about Mari's past because she's by far my favorite character in the series.

After finishing Seirei no Moribito just a couple days ago, Mari reminds me a lot of Balsa because of how determined she is to protect Mirai and Yuuki.

I thought for sure this anime was going into Hunger Games territory when I saw that girl with the baseball bat.

Okay episode. This was the weakest episode so far in my opinion.

Nice background episode for Mari. She is either acting the same as her former helpful husband or she is delaying visit of her home because of fear. Or most likely both. Definitely good showing of her motivation.
Well, she could regret this choice later if she realize she could save them both should she arrived sooner but that's still to be seen.

Those aftershocks are bothesome though. Neighbouring building collapse was pretty impactful scene though.

It took me a minute to realize that Aya sounds the same like Kafuka from Sayonara Zetsubou~ How adorable ♡

I didn't mind the gap in animation quality coz the one thing I was looking out for was the bg character cgi lol

Of all places in the wall, Mari had to be standing ttright beside where the lights would stab her. Mirai and Yuuki are now being more considerate to her~ I hope she gets home safe.

I still wondering what was the point of giving this kind of detail.
I was expecting some reaction from the characters or something but nothing happened.

It was nice to see Mari get fleshed out more; about time the ‘facade’ broke bc she’s obviously just as worried about her family as everyone else.

The dog should win an award for ‘most randomly messed up background detail’ because wow. They sure wanted to check if you were paying attention lol
