Your boruto review its just like the movie! The first half of ur review when you`re explaining about the good and bad of the movie thats good and i agree with that and the first half of the boruto movie are good too and rational but the second half of your review makes me cringe so bad that i want to shit myself the same feeling i got when i saw the boruto second half its cliche, overdramatic, overreacted and just plainly trash and full of nonsense. Thanks for the short explanation of uh.. human history or something about human deserved better? Idk thanks anyway for the review.

Your Boruto review made clicking that page worth it. I wasn't going to watch it anyway, but thanks for the pep talk. I DO deserve better.

*thumbs up*

Do tell me when you plan on going to Indonesia! It makes me happy to know people are finally learning about my awesome homeland. Out here in Florida I don't think people could even say it's in South-East Asia. Maybe it would even be their first time hearing of it. Though to be fair, allegedly many American kids can't point out the US on a map either.

Good to see you enjoyed the con. I've watched both seasons of Love Live! I read on some chat board somewhere that for people who watched a lot of School Idol anime, the first season would be considered one of the best. And yeah, I did find it rather well made. But since the genre as a whole is not in my bag of interests ( and also because school idol or idol songs in general are not my cup of tea) I found the anime to be just good. Second season loses some of the pizzaz of the first season.

But Mushishi is god-tier anime for me. It was eye-opening. When I think there are people alive today who will go through their whole lives without knowing Mushishi, I just feel sad. I'd share, but people are just likely to think that anime is Japanese cartoons after all. It's painful to live outside Japan. Though to be fair, Japan and its animation industry is not helping the western conception of anime. *Sigh*

Good luck with your exams. I'm in the same situation here. A few more exams and a week of classes to go. I'm reading the LN of High School DxD after I gave the first season of the anime another go and I'm doing that and playing a bit of Shovel KNight in the many, MANY breaks(ahem) I give myself.

Ah, I see. I actually don't know much about Nanyang Techical College. But I'm glad there's people like you who want to go study in Asia. You could have also gone to Hong Kong I guess, and some Japanese Universities might do an English curriculum (or maybe just exchange), but in SEA, Singapore is the best. Good for you.

Well if Indonesia and Malaysia have better foods its probably because they are older and bigger countries. Singaporean food ought to be more Chinese in characteristics than Indonesian for sure. But you will get a good grounding for food in Singapore before trying full-blown Indonesian street-vendor food. I actually wouldn't recommend that for foreigners because they would probably get sick. I hope you enjoy Indonesia. It's a wonderful country, full of glaring disparities and many diverse peoples, barely held together by some form of nationalism. Yogyakarta, Bali, Jakarta and Bandung (in that order) are places I'd recommend. If it's for food you'll never go wrong with Yogyakarta, the cultural capital. Plus, if you go to Bali, it's the only place in Indonesia you can get their famous spit-fire roasted pig that has been marinated in a special Balinese honey-spice mix. It's supposed to be heavenly. Also, of course, the seafood at Jimbaran. I'll leave the tourism planning to you. Damn I miss home.

Kyoto will always be beautiful. And I wouldn't dream of Japanese trip without dropping by Akiba, Shibuya, Kyoto and if I can help if Osaka. I have a distinct regard for Osaka from the Ukiyo-literature I've read.

Hyouka's a slow-paced SoL that is miles away from the usual banter of K-On, Lucky Star and Nichijou; but it is laced with GodAni style animation with some truly excellent OST and music choices coupled with the best school-festival arc in all anime. And that ending.... O Lord, help me. I ended up marathoning it (as I usually do with series I adore) and that ending had me lying back in my chair replaying it in my mind to see how it would work out. It is incredibly romantic in a very personal way -- as I see it -- and I feel a bit envious of it. You know, the way you read of some fictional character realizing a love in a perfect way and you wish your life were that good.

You should watch One Punch Man. It's pretty good. You won't regret going to the booth. Enjoy the expo!

As for KanColle, I've never managed to become a fan of the series. I have a vague understanding that the whole thing is based off of some card game, but I've only ever watched the first 5 episodes or so of that anime that aired last season. I dropped it so you have a pretty good idea of what I think of it.

As for the Asian Anime Expo, it came by Jakarta in September. If I had a hat, I'd chew it now. I'd like to have gone to the booths for One Punch Man and Uchida Maaya. And fuck everything, Yanagi Nagi attended the event in Jakarta. I would have killed to go to her booth. Or concert or whatever she had. She revolutionized Supercell after all.

If you've seen Hyouka ( and if you haven't, it's one of my top anime, so highly recommended), you could also go visit the town that Hyouka was based off of. A user on 4chan posted pictures of the trip he took. Truthfully, the town doesn't look amazing or anything. But it is the average Japanese small countryside town, so that's like getting a tick off your anime expectations v reality list.

Also do me a favour and go to a ryoukan, have a bath and then drink some cold milk.

I have SO much to do when I finally go to Japan.

The pilgrimage to GodAni HQ is a must; although from the pictures I've seen the actual studio is fairly underwhelming compared to what you'd imagine. It's in keeping with Japanese standards though. Still, if you're dragging yourself all the way there, I assume you'll go the extra mile and visit Kyoto as well. Now that REALLY makes me jealous. I want to visit Kyoto in the autumn, I think, if I can't make the Springtime cherry blossoms, but I would gladly go to Kyoto at the drop of a hat if someone on the street gave me a ticket and said I could go in his place but would have to leave immediately.

I'll ask just to make sure, but you don't happen to attend the UWCSEA, do you? Because I happen to have attended a sister school in Wales. It would make so much sense then, as I don't think many Canadians or Americans settle in Singapore.

Good to see you're getting off the beaten path and are eating South East Asian food. Singapore is diverse enough to allow you to live by eating western food only. As an Indian, I'll also say that going to Komalas to have their paper roast dosas or asking around to find a hawker stall selling parathas with chicken curry will benefit you greatly. I've eaten those and I have to say they are amazing. Singaporean fried rice is only so-so though. I much, MUCH prefer the Indonesian variety. If you look around you might still find some good nasi goreng. You've probably already eaten this, but sate with peanut sauce is the dish I force my parents to buy me as soon as we leave the airport in Jakarta.

Ah, Singapore. How I miss it. I haven't been there in about 2 years now. The last time I was there I even got to see the Lion King in the Marina Bay Sand Theatre. Is the city still under heavy construction? The last time I was there a driver joked and said that the crane was the new national bird of Singapore.

Poppyc**k. You've got me in full nostalgia mode now.
Sorghaghtani Nov 26, 2015 5:07 AM
You're in Singapore right now? I'm so jealous. I'm from Indonesia and I am thoroughly missing South East Asian food right now. Luckily there isn't too much time till Christmas break and I can come home. Moreover, you even get to go to an anime expo? Damn, so jealous.....

Yeah. KyoAni is great but that move was ridiculous. Having said that, from a purely economic perspective, I think they can see it making sense. Just looking at the fluid animation and sharp directing, I'd imagine this should have set them back a decent bit of money. I know Kyoani is probably still swimming in cash after K-On and their perfected art of moe but I'll wager they were hoping to get more out of it. I'm glad we at least got this much.
