Digimon Bokura no War game.... The animation and style really set it apart from the whole series for me. The Action in it was really top notch for a short movie.

Than Girl who leapt through time, memorable movie, loved it. But still didn't realise who was responsible. Didn't really pay attention till Summer wars, when I noticed the characters similarities and the action world similarities. After that its just been paying attention as much as when I first laid eyes on Beyond The clouds the Promised place.

rarely comment on directors, producers or what ever
but this guy deserves it, I watched Summer Wars, Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo, Bakemono no Ko (in this order) all masterpieces IMO

and he was also involved in Samurai Champloo and digimon what can I say he is amazing

PS: Actually I never commented on a staff member before... well maybe Kenji Kawai

lol gotta have a good laugh at these wana be "I know whats good and whats not" critics.. kids nowadays, thats what happens when u tell them to express themselfs and say what u think. To bad no one told them that when u dnt know what ur talking about or u just have a stupid opinion, that u should rather stfu! wolf kids, summer wars and the beast and the boy are all great movies thats wh they ranked so high! and he directed the girl that lept.. he didnt write it but also a good movie.. and rly dude one piece and digimon.. do u even know where you are? or u 1 of those "special" ppl..

Wolf Children was sappy garbage, but I love Summer Wars and Boy and the Beast. Like rcstars said, I don't think he's even in the same league as Miyazaki and he should probably stay away from the screenwriters' table.

Not sure why, but Hosoda's work just does not do it for me. My favorite work of his iis The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (probably because he didn't write it), but even that is 8/10 for me at best. Summer Wars and Wolf Children didn't really do anything for me. It irritates me when he is called "the next Miyazaki", because I am a huge Miyazaki fan. In my view, Hosoda is nowhere near being in the same league as Miyazaki. That being said, I think he has what it takes to be an above average director, but he should stay away from writing.

I thought The Girl Who Leapt Through time was better than Wolf Children. Plot was a little slow at some points. Eager to see The Boy and The Beast. Hopefully its going to be beastly!

Rudra42 | May 5, 11:23 AM
I love Wolf Children, I also enjoyed The Girld Who Leapt Throudh Time, but Summer Wars was such a disappointment. I hope he'll never do something that bad again.
