Episode 3 got leaked on a channel called Yahoo GYAO. Cool 007 reference in the opening few minutes!

We get a lot of Araragi dialogues this episode. Same with Ougi. It seems this arc reflects somewhat of Araragi's past though...and the reasoning behind Oikura's hatred.

Really liked the word plays used in this episode.

Ougi's so perceptive damn. Araragi forgetting all these memories and why Sodachi hates him, Ougi got it spot on. Next episode seems like Sodachi will fill in the rest of the blanks in Araragi's memory for him.

This sodachi tho----

Morale of the story: Math, not even once. Araragi was also super cute when he was young.

Also, SHAFT seem to be enjoying the western references this season.

ougi is acting only on the things that araragi says thus making him recall only certain parts of the past.
it's kinda like araragi is having a conversation with himself, lol.

Dang, so Araragi's still missing something huh? I wonder how we're going to solve this next episode.

"Whether or not Oikura Sodachi was behind this door is entirely impossible to prove." Way to sneak in a Schrodinger's Cat reference.

The two sides fought, though for the most part disparate from one another, the two desired for something they lacked just sitting on the other side.

Despite knowing Araragi's love for math, why would Oikura point her fingers at Araragi when she herself knows it is impossible, if that summer really became a part of him that is. Then, was she trying to show part of the real world to Araragi, thus hinting how her circumstances once were, being a victim of others' "wonderful" works, yet Araragi once again sorely missed the point of her intent.

Looking forward to the other side of the story.

it really blows my mind how we have just 2 people sitting in the same room for nearly the whole episodes talking to each other and still having me glued to the screen, hitted by several emotions and realizations.

monogatari never fails to amaze me.

Ougi seriously knows way, way more than she really has any right to. Once again, this episode reinforced my belief that there's something not right about her, and I'm now getting the feeling that it's going to be something massive, something of a scale that we have not yet seen from this series before. As for Oikura, it's understandable why she'd blame Araragi but I still find it quite ridiculous. What did she expect him to do when she tells him to keep it all secret? If someone tells you to keep a secret you usually do, especially at that age. In any case, how their next meeting plays out should be very interesting indeed.

So Oikura and Araragi had a connection from the past? Kinda understand why she hates him. And Ougi is quite creepy, feels like she knows exactly what Araragi is thinking.

I found the mystery to be extremely interesting and entertaining. I was engrossed with Araragi finding out about his past and why Oikura hates him so much. Moreover, I was intrigued at the way Ougi kept manipulated Araragi into accepting her explanations (I should probably learn from Ougi)- most of which had also me convinced when as I was listening to her. However, after taking a step back to consider Ougi's explanation, I feel that some points are inherently weak - e.g. the explanation of why Oikura didn't call the police herself felt like it was pulled from the air and was baseless. That being said, I feel that the weakness in Ougi's explanation was intentional and is hinting that the 'memories', which Ougi 'helped' Araragi to recall, are actually erroneous. Overall, I am starting to get a hunch that a major theme of this season is confabulation - the unconscious filling in of gaps in memory with fabricated facts and experiences - and am hyped up, not only by the involvement of math in this season, but also memories. Can't wait for the next episode :) 5/5

I'm liking Ougi more and more with each episode.

So Sodachi's riddle must be an SOS that Araragi failed to notice (or simply ignored). I'm guessing she lived in his household at one point, because of her family issues, which is probably the reason why she knows about his parents being policemen.

This episode was indeed particularly heavy on dialogue, but Nisio Ishin + Shaft make the impossible possible, and it never feels like it's dragging or like nothing's happening. Ougi asks a few simple questions and in the snap of a finger, my interest has been caught. If anything, I miss Araragi's funnier moments though, but the seriousness of this arc matches with how threatening Ougi is. The subject matter isn't particularly dangerous (trying to find the culprit who mde it possible to cheat on the test, trying to figure out why Oikura taught Araragi math and then disappeared) but when Ougi's involved, it's like the world is about to end.

I know that every episode of Monogatari has talking, that's the point and I even replied that to someone else earlier. In my opinion, it's bad, but it has some redeeming qualities and that is why I keep watching.

I like how I can talk shit about any other show in their discussion threads, and no one has any problems with it nor questions me about it, but I say anything negative about Monogatari and I'm a troll.

Damn you NisiOisiN and Shaft! Three weeks ago I had never heard of Sodachi Oikura, now I'm totally obsessed with finding out why she hates/loves Araragi and what the mystery is about her that we still need to solve...

More importantly, when asked why anime should be taken seriously as an art form, the Monogatari series is one I can point to as proof it is as legitimate as any other cultural product these days (Sturgeon's law not withstanding.)

Another very good episode. I find amazing how the Monogataris are one of the series that never bores me. It just don't matter how much talk the series have, it always manages to make me invested and interested in what the characters talk. Even banals conversations ends up being important later.

That riddle was very interesting, I like how Ougi was leaving clues to Araragi to resolve it. It seems like Araragi meet Oikura during a summer when he obtained low scores and she teached him maths. But the end indicates that they actually meet long before that summer. Also Ougi indicates that the reason why she hates him is because he don't remember her and that he forgot that she help him to improve his maths, there that she says in the last episode that Araragi is an ungrateful person.

Also Oikura suffered domestic violence during the time that she teached Araragi maths, and that she wanted that Araragi parents arrested her parents, but Araragi didn't realizes it. That last conversation with Hanekawa leave us to the question that they meet much before that summer, as Oikura know the job of Araragi parents, so she must be a close friend, as Araragi says to Hanekawa that he try to avoid reveal the profession of his parents to the people.

The episodes feel very short to me, I already want to see the next one T_T.

Btw, Shota Araragi was cute and Ononoki cameo make laugh.

So we got to learn a little more about Araragi and his past with Oikura. I felt kind of bad for her when Ougi said she suffered from domestic violence. Good episode overall.

It's amazing how each episode is just the same 2 people talking to each other for 20 minutes yet it's able to remain so interesting.

After this episode, I'm fairly confident that Ougi actually knows everything about the incidents Araragi was involved in since he was a kid. (S)he continued to cue and essentially lead him to find the answers, while he didn't really do much himself except for telling the story, which Ougi probably knew from the start. (S)he might call it sleuthing, but it was nothing of that sort, in reality.

I like how Araragi was staring at Hanekawa's legs while she was going up the stairs. I don't really blame him though.. :3

and i know, oikura is the one at fault too. for say something like she doesn't need anything in return. or she wasn't say anything to araragi like, this is my room or this is my home. ugh

point minus for araragi in my eyes. duh

Ougi's manga acting for Oikura was so lol

Friggin loved the "Then that bit is how much I will love u" Ougi's just too friggin <3

Really interested about Oikura now. Still think she's a bitch but if she really was abused as a child then that sucks :(

But really if u think about it we've been having around 2 hrs now of mainly Ougi and Koyomi talking and it just doesn't stop being epic.
