| I didn't have any problem with this anime until now. This episode was so fuckin slow. I was so buzzed for this episode, I thought they will gain their cursed gear finally and we can get on with the story. But no they made a full filler episode. I mean what was so important besides the last 5 min? Okay Shinoa was fun and we got introduced to the big boss. But still it should have been 7-8 minutes and they could have started the trial. Don't get me wrong, I do love this anime, but this episode sucked. If their purpose was to make the whole next episode a big fight, than it's all forgiven, but if not, than this episode was a horrible filler. |
| I always enjoy watching Shinoa doing what she does best: dicking and trolling the other characters. I find her sarcastic personality and devil may care attitude strangely appealing and probably the biggest draw of the series for me personally. |

| I love Shinoa's teasing towards Yuu. That was actually cute. Unlike Kimizuki, Yuu got the worst score possible. So the three of them are qualified to have a demon weapon. I can feel that something will turn out to be drastically ridiculous. |

| Those three are getting ready to take the first step on how hard it is to acquire an Infernal Arms. Single wield,dual wield & ranged. Shinoa's attitude still cracks me up! It's weird that Yoichi has the highest demon compatibility out of them three. |

| Welp, Shinoa was as amazing as ever, but the other characters really aren't doing it for me. They're bland and unmemorable. Oh, and was the animation bad for others, or was my connection just shit like I had originally assumed...? Other people seemed to see issues with it as well. |

| the animation this episode was really distracting and actually hurt my eyes. i could see each frame pan out. i hope they don't keep it up like this in future episodes and hope that the bluray episodes will look better |

| Man, the animation quality on this one was pretty bad. all that floating and low frames per movement was just... ech. And the characters are REALLY starting to wear thin on me. 3 of the main 5 are always shitheads, and the main character has spent the whole show going "I wanna kill vampires, when do I get a weapon, where's the captain" like shit, it's 5 episodes and there's been no forward motion or deeper exploration with the characters, they've spent almost half their time getting off the launch pad of the plot :/ |

| What a world we live in. People complaining about Yoshinari Kou's animation and accusing it of having low frames and no fluidity. Feels like I'm in a thread for a well animated Naruto episode. How people can be so clueless will never cease to amaze me. The whole show has looked great and this episode was a standout in terms of animation. Might as well outsource every episode to Korean amateurs if what everyone wants to see is generic on model art for every show. Jesus. |

| Kinda struggling with dropping this show but I'm almost halfway through so I might as well keep on going. Looks like next week may pick up though. I still find the main character annoying and unlikable, and the same goes for the rest of the good guys, except Yuichiro. The vampires are pretty cool though. |

| I think saying Shinoa is a tease at this point is an understatement. Yuu is so dense man, lol. if I were him, I would've totally hugged her real tight the second she began to lean towards me. I thought I was kinda past complaining about the poor background art, but when Yuu ran after Shinoa and hit the wall... that moment was atrocious. This is kind of a bummer since most of the characters look pretty good in terms of design, so I don’t know why the contrast between the characters and the background is so glaring. Overall, I enjoyed this episode and things seem to be getting more interesting, especially Shinoa (!!). I swear to god, this girl must have had some naughty lesson with Amane from Grisaia. I love it. Also, it looks like they're going to get some cool weapons. Despite the iffy background, it's shaping up nicely and it looks like the story will get more interesting. |

| Shinoa is not cute or funny. Yu and Shihou are a horrendous attempt at the rival/friend gimmick. And are we supposed to think the jackass Lieutenant Colonel is "cool & tough"? I can't take this "army" seriously at all. This show has been a joke. Hopefully the struggles with the demon contracts are somewhat interesting, but I doubt it. It's just gonna be a "oh your friendship is what will save your soul from the demon" melodrama BS. Also, there is a difference between slow paced and just terrible directing. This is the latter. |

I think they just animate almost half of what happened in the manga and then put some original. Well, for me I really didn't mind since they are trying to match a good ending or the 1st cour of this anime (the scene where I expect this to end). And the original anime Mika scenes visiting his old home is quite sad and ok for me. So, that pace is a thumbs up for me. Though, I admit that the animations this time is quite hype. Well, just like the others said. The key framers are just into add even the slightes small details and movement thing. But, well still not bad for me since I think this whole season 1 is just their experimentation for a better EPIC season 2. And guys, school thing is the very foundation of the MC's introduction. So, don't be so hasty about this school things is sucks. For god sake. This is a manga base. And they doing the 1 or 2 chapters per episode. So it is obviously quite slow. But good since they are faithfully following the manga. Over all, this episode is OK for me~ |

| Shinoa's great. Not a tsun, or a kuudere, neither with the other fanservice elements, and the relationship between her and Yu is good, the way they speak with each other is so laid back. |
| My personal highlight of this episode was the brief "appearance" of Keiji Fujiwara (because of his role as Togane Sakuya) and that makes me kinda sad... |

I kinda feel that the next episode would be the start of him changing because of the title " New Family ". Well, his only problem right now is he was captured in his past of not being able to protect his family but now, he has a new one and I think that revenge might really turned something into protect if he would just realize that he has friends now... ^_^ |

Like I said, the animation was far from clean and there were some scenes that looked awkward, but missing a few inbetweens is not a bad animation. But scenes were characters actually move when they interact are rare, maybe that's why I liked it so much. It's a matter of taste, I know, but calling this "unwatchable" because of 1 minute of "different" animation is just.....I dont know, unfair? Durarara 2 didn't get this much hate even when that had an entire episode that was unfinished, featuring awfull stills and virtually NO animation Besides, there were only a few scenes like "that", people are being way too harsh because 95% of the episode looked the same as last week's which is fine I'd pick some rough but lively animation like this over something like Arslan Senki any day, that one has way too many stills and static art |
| Dropped into this episode to see if it gets better, and, man, it would have been so much more interesting if Mika's plotline had been the main one, or at least if it it had taken more screentime. A newly turned vampire with emotional and mystical baggage getting entangled into vampire politics seems to be a better story than the typical shounen fignting organization & school set up. |

| One of the main problems is that they are trying too hard on the characters I like Guren but the anime tries to hard to make him "tough and cool" with a nonchalant attitude. It can get very annoying really quickly Yuu(anime wise) is over the top and his relationship with the other dude is pretty poor at being rivals/friends. Goku/Vegeta/Piccolo Yusuke/Kuwabara/Hiei Eren/Jean are some good shonen rivals/friend relationships. Let it come naturally. You don't have to make them fight and argue every time words come from their mouths for us to get the message As many people and I've stated numerous times. Shinoa is not funny shes annoying. Her trollish attitude isn't fitting the atmosphere and she has yet to contribute to the plot. I have no problem with female characters being funny and a smartass at times but have said character balanced instead of becoming a joke. Her showing the class Yuu's grades was a jackass move especially since Yuu was never taught. I'm still waiting on why she's called best girl when Tepes is more appealing and she's a cliche Loli vampire However I am liking Mika more and as I've stated Yoichi is growing on me. We know he's the "coward" of the main cast yet it's not over saturated nor unnecessarily drawn out and he's yet to be annoying. He also shows promise and potential. Out of the main cast Yoichi is actually the one I like the most |

Even if she's a cliche Loli vampire. I have no problems with cliches as they are inevitable. However how you write them determines quality. There's almost nothing about Shinoa that's appealing except her scythe which is badass I admit but whats the point? Her character is terrible so the scythe matters nothing in the long run. As I stated there's a difference in being funny and being an obnoxious brat. The very fact that some Shinoa fans have pointed out her unnecessary behavior should alert to that funny=/= trolling idiot and that maybe more and more people are getting tired of it.. Even from the manga Im currently reading she's there but not there at the same time. And while she gets more screen time people actually need it(Mika as a prime example) isn't getting it.Until she actually grows or take shit seriously and fight my opinion of Shinoa will continue to stay negative. I'm not asking for God tier development yet for her to figure out that she needs to quit being a bitch. No one else will. |

| This episode was ok, I felt like they were trying to experiment a little with the animation... I guess? Maybe the animator is different for this one? I'd say they tried to make it more fluid, more dynamic, and I appreciate that-- but I don't think it did very well, some frames seemed to need more work... The character interactions seem kinda weak and forced to me. Esp Shinoa and Yuu- it feels like she's trying too hard with her teasing; it's getting tiring and annoying. Also Yuu clearly doesn't like it but yet she continues. I think I'm only having trouble with this slow pacing because I'm honestly not really interested on this side of the story; The main cast... doesn't appeal to me. I don't like Yuu and that pink haired kid. Yoichi is somewhat nicer, tho, i hope he gets an interesting develpment altho i don't trust this show about this;;; ...Maybe the story would me more interesting if it were on Mika's POV? ...Maybe? Or nah? sighs |
