Place in the japanese old time. Mushi-shi was full of mystic and supernatural.
I liked the way Ginko solve people's problem.
Scene by scene, so quite and dark. And so the music was.
But this episode is the best.
After all the journey with saving people, finally Ginko get his own trouble.
He gotta big deal with the guardian of the mountain.
And he deal with it!

I liked it

The ending didn't make sense to me, why would they need his kouki if there is already a fountain in the bottom of the swamp? Don't tell me that mushi cannot go underwater -_-.

9/10, i didn't enjoy this season as much as the first one.

hmm...I'd like to know what mushishi fans and theorists think about this, but after recently watching the first episode of zoku shou season 2, I got the impression that these streams of life are not really there in the physical or material sense, like you can't just go down there and draw the water/kouki like you draw out oil. But, that's all I got for now. I'm forgetting, and my memory sucks. I think these mountains are like 'nodes', special points, which help keep the ecological balance and the flow of the river throughout the land, they're not really like physical fountains.

An episode where Ginko is the only one talking. Calm and relaxing. The music and ambiance is so soothing.
I really wanted to watch mushi's sprouting everywhere. Too bad Ginko made it out of the mountains quickly. Also, the mountain lord's a BOSS!!

A perfect episode for the season end. My body is ready for the next cour.

7/10 for this episode.

Yes, I've read up to the latest chapter of Shingeki No Kyojin manga.
Forced myself to read through the kidsketching chapters after the anime's ended. At least from now on, I only have to go through the hell once a month.
Patiently awaiting SNK TV/movie/OVA anime-sequel.
The 2015 SNK live-action movie would probably suck.

I find it funny in an ironic way how the first and last episodes of this season were my least favorite. This was a good episode, but it felt more idyllic and uneventful than usual... and I had a hard time getting wrapped up into the meditative atmosphere.

That said, it was actually a great episode to end the season with, unlike the episode which ended the first season. The turning of winter into spring... I guess the end of the episode truly conjured a sense of renewal which contrasted perfectly with the fact that it was the end of the season.

On another note, were the final lines of this episode a haiku? I'm a newb and can't count Japanese syllables or whatever, but I swear that sounded like a haiku.

That was a great way to end it. Everything goes as the mountain lord wishes.

Brilliant OST and episode, particularly loved that almost nothing happened. Ginko lies down on the bed of flowers in the season of spring, that looks really comfy.

This season started weird, didn't have the hook and magic like the first season, but it got better toward the end, but one thing I really don't like is the use of screen fadeout as a scenes transition, it's really noticeable here.
I almost always skip the opening song, contrast to Sore Feet which I almost never skip it.
Now I hope Zoku Shou gets better, not by copying the 9 years old first season (English opening, quiet atmosphere), but by inserting it's own characteristic too, because I don't feel the "magic" here.

Despite loving lots of those episodes with beautiful life stories, touching stories, well-conducted morals, etc.;
THIS was easily, not one of, but my favourite Mushishi episode so far. Heavenly. I felt such unreal happiness.
Mushishi needs more episodes with no other humans, but Ginko. A masterpiece. Spring can't come soon enough.

That turtle outsmart Ginko and stole from him. Our Mushishi's reaction was priceless but he didn't care that much cuz he basically saved the mointain. One of my favourite episodes. The whole idea of these 'masters of the mountain' is really unique and they make for excelent episodes. I remember the snake from the first season. This was as well one of the most beautiful episodes, the whole shift from winter to summer was brilliant.

It was nice to find out that the master of the mountain did not take a gamble by having a longer winter and kept all of the animals safe. ~ Onto the second half.

I think although the last episode was pretty anti-climactic, I guess the producers wanted to end the series just with Ginko's relationship with the mushi. It shows how much he really cares for living things and believes that all forms of life are just doing their best to survive.

The lack of any other human characters in this final episode also helped me realise that it was the interactions between Ginko and the other people that made the series so interesting. I think what kept viewers watching this series was the interesting life stories of the various characters that Ginko met during his travels.

I felt that even though each story was more or less distinct from the previous episode, the central theme to this entire series (and also the prequel) is that every power has a consequence. There is no such thing as being able to enjoy a certain ability without the responsibility, limitations or side effects that come along with it. Each episode seems to reiterate this principle as almost every ending is at most bittersweet. I also really liked how Ginko's childhood stories formed the backbone of the series that gave it a certain sense of direction and continuity even though each episodic story is separate from the other.

The mountain lord was such a sly turtle. Good first half of the second season. I like how they ended it with an episode centered around Ginko compared to S1's ending where he was barely in it.

Now I see why we had so many winter episodes.

This episode was so relaxing, so soothing, that it actually lulled me to sleep! I was tired, still that's worth mentioning xD I had to re-watch the second half because I completely dozed off from that point to the last minute. Dat art!! How beautiful can an anime episode become?

9/10 for an amazing series.

Ginko got played there. The look on the mountain lord made me almost laugh at times. He looked so done with everything. Like. I am gonna get what I want, you don't even try.

Definitely one of the most unique episodes of this series. All the more relaxing, too.

10/10 for this, I can't rate Mushishi any lower than this. I love Ginko and Adashino. Wish Tanyuu returned as well.

This second season felt super weak compared to the first 26 eps. I didn't connect to any of the stories, perhaps the repetition finally wore me out? This last episode and the 2nd episode were the only ones I really liked. The only idea cultivated over the course of the season was that the mushi this time felt even more like forces of nature. Appreciated the more vibrant color schemes compared to the first. The backgrounds and landscapes also seemed to have improved. Truly the best part of Zoku Shou is the background art.

I think the first season would have been even better if it included even just one episode like this last one.

Man, this whole franchise is a dopamine fix in the most tranquil package. I understand why it's so appealing to so many people, because each self-contained story provides a some sort of conclusion with just the right amount of episodic emotion that is oh so easy to manipulate people with. I'm not trying to shit on it or anything, but this might be the most sophisticated instant gratification I've ever seen. Hopefully, I like the the rest of the episodes as much as the first season, because I don't want to dislike this series.

That god damn kouki stealing turtle.

Best episode of the season imo. It was always said over and over again that the mushi don't have any will of their own, and this episode had a humorous spin on that recurring theme. A mountain god used mushi to get to Ginko's kouki. Showed that although mushi themselves would try so deviously to get their way, other forces of nature might.

I'm still sick, so I really don't have the energy to write a 400 page essay on why this season of Mushishi was excellent (much more excellent than the last), but if you're reading this you would likely already know these reasons so I'll just cut to the chase.

This was another great season of Mushishi. It was much more consistent enjoyment wise for me, and although that may just be there were less episodes for me to get bored during, I think it also comes down to the material being covered in these episodes being that much better. We got some really great moral debates and personifications in these 10 episodes (especially the pearl episode, that one was fantastic). And for such an artistic show, it really did benefit from jumping to HD. Zoku Shou was worth the wait and Mushishi continues to be an almost surreal relaxation effect on me as the viewer. 8/10.

best episode of the season. tbh I was feeling meh about all Zoku Shou episodes. None of them really left an impression on me unlike the 1st season.

This was for sure one of the most unique Mushishi eps so far. Instead of seeing Ginko help out more clueless humans, we got to understand the role/capabilities of the mountain god. It's always been ambiguous to me and was never elaborated until now. Great way to end the season.

fine episode, like it when they just dedicate a episode solely to Ginko, i mean he is the main character and all but due to how Mushishi's episodes and how the storeys are laid out, we don't get to see an awful lot of what happens asides from him helping others with their Mushi problems.
Whoop mountain lord is quite the old geezer xD clever plan, if i got it right he closed the mountain off keeping it in a winter state and predicted Ginko's appearance and knew he had Kouki, gathered all the animals of the mountain into a safe location using the Kouki to heal them (and maybe the mountain?) until the mountain presumably died and started a new or was revived as well as with Kouki.
