I liked this very much. The animation style was very cool. In the beginning the atmosphere was very peculiar, something that made me love the anime. Then the atmosphere changed, but it still wasn't bad. Also the ending was somewhat touching and it felt good. The OST was great as well.
It was interesting, but I felt kind of bored watching it :/ Maybe because the characters don't feel very real to me and there were a few parts where I though the direction was awkward. But they still did a good job with the cyberpunk setting.
I would've lol'd when she said her name was Poem if I wasn't overcome by a big ass "wtf...?" from watching everything that happened before. This felt like a summary for a 2 hour film that they really tried to squeeze together - and failed. The art wasn't bad and I even thought the idea for the story was pretty good, it just felt really rushed and like they were trying to fit way too much in a 20 minute span.
It had potential, if it was given more episodes. Otherwise, it really led nowhere, even with it's complex setting and plot. It's like it was way too much for just one episode.
I did, however, like the OSTs and ending song.
Yes, I also think it may have been a boy, by the clues given.
This was the last one I saw of the mirai, so I'd say Death Billiards wins first hands-down, then Ryo, then this, then LWA. LWA I see many people like the most (or equal with Death Billiards), and it was really adventurous and all, but just not serious enough for me, so it's just a preference thing I guess.
I thought it was OK, I'd watch this if this was a short TV/OVA series since the the concept of trapped in another body was quite interesting, having feelings with the other soul in your sister's body was intriguing, and I had lots of other questions after watching it.
I think the current Shiki could be a boy, first thing that came to my mind when she said she doesn't remember having this heavy things (big breasts) on her chest before (a bit of a lulz there) or she could have a really flat chested body before Early Rapture. In Remu's flashback Shiki reminded him she has amnesia that's why she read her parent's book, and Remu said something about Shiki's true parents so they could be adoptive siblings?
So yeah easily 7/10 in my book.
You see there's no need to wonder where your god is,
Coz he's right here! ...and he's fresh out of mercy.
They weren't really brother and sister though were they? (at least, not by blood) since she was talking about "her" birth parents and their dream. So it's not even really incest.
IMO it was the weakest of the 2012 Anime Mirai 's. Though it was still pretty interesting, wouldn't mind seeing a full series at all.
The premise is good but the execution is all over the place and chaotic to where its hard to even understand anything aside from the main point. Should have been a 2 hour movie with a full plot and development or a short series.
I didn't really care for the character design, but I found the whole concept and story very intriguing. The dogs looked pretty cool though. Also that ED was pretty sweet.
I found the idea very interesting plot, would definitely follow an anime so
the desing of the characters was a bit unusual, but the animation itself was good, also liked the soundtrack (especially the ED), and dubbing
one sci-fi with enough mystery story is not new, but putting action, suspense and even a little romance left everything better
I'll look if there is other media, it seems there is a LN, to accompany the story ..
The concept was basically a paraphrased SAC, and it was highly interesting, even if it was immensely less detailed than SAC. But it still IS detailed for a one-shot.
The dialogues were quick, straight to the point, and playful. The animation was great, and the art style is something NEVER presented before.
It felt like I was watching poetry. And to my un-surprise, Shiki was translated as "Poem."
The format is similar to RYO's, but UNLIKE RYO, THIS does NOT FUCKING SUCK like a leech in heat. Things made actual sense, I could tell who's who, and they finished it in an astoundingly perfect way to end a pilot episode.
That was some refreshing direction. I want to give this a 7, but I wanted more. A 6 will suffice because they just HAD to pick Ledouche and some random skank to be the VAs.
I loved the concept! it reminded me of the show intelligence but waaaaaaay better. The incest (mild as it may be) took away a lot of my enjoyment though.
20 min too short, really needs 1-2 cours, hints a complex scifi world like sao+gits.
Great character design/art, line work is amazing, and everyone's hair & that dress is pretty.
Ost & ED are great. Solid directing despite the plot rush.
"boku" boy soul didn't seem too surprised at the Shiki female body, maybe it's a tomboy soul.
Top reviews summarized my thought of this OVA, generic characterization with a onii-san who wants to get into his imouto's pants. Can't judge the plot since it's apparent that this is only one part of the whole thing. OST is decent, nothing special.
I see a bit of Death Note directing influence in the early part of the episode, then a bit of Shinbou's trait of highlighting a female's 'assets'. Animation tried to be too fancy sometimes for no reason, like when the sister was changing, and then talking about how she's unfamiliar with this body, the arm animation is just overdoing it.
This would've made such a cool series with Remu and Poem side looking for their important things. Poem would be looking for her body and was she/he and Remu would be looking for Shiki's consciousness. That would've made a killer season.
I would say though IMO this Poem person is male the way they referred to themselves, that's just my guess.
Anyways, 4/10 for leaving us hanging and the animation was not that wowing.
How I learned to stop worrying and love the bomb --- Dr Strangelove
Well, uh, I like the art style? But other than that I pretty much hated everything about this. The world and narrative are flimsy, we get more shots of the girls' chest and butt than actual personality, and there's even some bonus "oh but we're not technically blood related so it's fine" incest to boot. Ugh.
