I take it you don't like YES.
So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

Getting back on topic. I'm really enjoying this show, If it wasn't currently airing I would have watched it all in one sitting. The suspense is really killing me, but I love every minute of it.

and 2 male characters having sex one time is not enough to make the anime a yaoi (berserk is not yaoi, for example) in wich the relationship between 2 guys is the focus of the show

Being that it's a 25 episode anime, that's one hell of a "sitting".

Good episode...Was interesting to see that flash back at the start as well...they finally found the robot/creature so looks like we'll find out about the past now, the war and origin of cantus and stuff~
Can't wait to see what exactly happened.

This so far out of the few fall anime I've seen currently is my favorite right now :)

Buncha kids in the woods with a weird computer demon thing. It's just not interesting to me so far. Close to dropping it. Meh.

What!? Only 980 petabytes worth of holographic memory? High data compression I presume, this was an archive after all. Was that the the only amount of available data on accumulated human knowledge, what about the high resolution cat videos? o_O LOL

Every time I watch this I have the feeling that it'd be an "epic" tale. 3 episodes in, and it's barely scratching the surface.

Let's hope with the preview that episode 4 will be when the story gets interesting.

In fact, I believe most of the episode was dedicated to world-building. It is absolutely crucial for the success of a good SF series. The main difference between the SF genre and other genre is that the setting (social, environmental, political, historical, technological, etc.) aspects of the world must be given enough development and emphasis. Only with exposition and development the audience/reader can actually grasp the reason behind each character's action.

Without enough exposition you get will something like SAO, which cannot be considered to be a full-fledged SF due to lack of development of the setting and poor emphasis on the ethical/philosophical aspects of technology.

@wakka9ca: but look at how popular SAO is haha

SAO not being a proper SF has nothing to do with if the series is "good" or not. A series being "good" has nothing to do with it being popular or not. The concept of a series being "good" is mostly subjective.

In terms of the story and entertainment itself, SAO is not doing that bad. It's just doing bad with certain use of cliche and not properly presenting the setting and certain characters.

The two potential winners in terms of SF this season are SSY and Psycho-Pass (although more episodes are needed to fully determine the direction it will take).

This episode really amazed me, but I still could it can be so much better.
The weird creature that has 980 PB of info is very interesting.
I thought this series was going to be kind of episodic, but this is truly a lot better than expected.
I can not wait for more of this.

So far I like SSY more (even with just their 1st eps). I'm liking it's setting and execution more. But we never know with Urobochi Gen writing Psycho-Pass.

I prefer SSY too, but both are interesting.

I find that in psycho-pass, the "question" is pushed too much on the front, whiile SSY take its time to ask you its "question"

Psycho-pass setting feels like a pretext, while SSY feels more like a true world. Note that it's not necesseraly a problem to have a "pretext setting", but then you need to have a pretty good and original "question" to ask. Time will tell if P-P "question" is strong enough

Serial experiment Lain is a perfect exemple of "pretext setting" done right: Once the "question" was totally asked, the setting become totally empty. This kind of setting can be a force or a weakness:
A force because everything is here to serve the "question"
A weakness if the "question" is not strong enough

Was I the only one who was at the end of their seat when Saki asked about the contents of what was stored in the slug? I was completely tossed out of my seat when the closing credits opened up. I had no idea of how much time has passed at that point. A thing to note is that Saki and Shun seem to have some kind of romantic thing going on. I'm not one for romantics, but still worth mentioning since it is pretty apparent.

This episode was pretty interesting as it helps build the setting a little more. I can't wait to learn more about this world with the next episode. It appears that a lot of things will finally be explained through that strange slung.

The clips that are shown in the ending makes it seem really sad.. Assuming that the girl that's the main focus if the ending is Saki, when i saw her friends popping out of the water, i counted the people that sctually appeared - there were only three. So i thought either Shun or Satoru is missing and Saki was searching for him (her head was looking around). And then she looked and tried to reach for that person on the canoe who was rowing her (must be Shun or Satoru?). But then the scene changed; warped. Makes me think that something big and deep is going to happen to the group of friends..

On top of that, the opening scenes seem to play a role in this series. Could something major be happening with thr past (opening) and the future (present)?

Well, I really like the OSTs, especially that ending sing <3

Also, all the episodes that I've seen were each subbed by different groups; the names each group give to the name of the powers they have (Cantus, Force, etc) and the creatures and whatnot do get jumbled up in my mind since they don't all dub things the same. Nonetheless, thanks for subbing for those of us who can't interpret Japanese^^

The OST makes the show so much better. Seriously, the music makes the atmosphere intense and horror-like, in a good way.

This episode feels like a filler but it isn't, which is good. The whole Minariko shit is hell interesting.

I honestly found it kind of dull, but at the same time I realize this was totally necessary for the series in the future. Or so I hope. That said, Saki questioning the creature seems pretty interesting.

The first part of the episode was so lame and on top of a love story begins. But from the appearance of the machine everything is back to normal. I'm excited what kind of secrets the machine will reveal.
Following reasoning that some animals are machines so it is most likely that among the people there are men machines.

Ohyeah.
Isayama Hajime should be awarded The Manga with The Highest Inconsistencies of Characters' Appearances.
He keeps performing multiple plastic surgeries on those Shingeki No Kyojin characters in a SINGLE chapter.
Yes, I've read up to the latest chapter of Shingeki No Kyojin manga.
Forced myself to read through the kidsketching chapters after the anime's ended. At least from now on, I only have to go through the hell once a month.
Patiently awaiting SNK TV/movie/OVA anime-sequel.
The 2015 SNK live-action movie would probably suck.

Dang, that was explained already. So, some of these creatures are computers? Or something like that. I'll be interested in hearing the explanation behind that. And next episodes looks like it might tell about the past 1000 years. I hope it doesn't reveal too much too quickly.

I'm really liking this series so far, even if i'm not entirely sure what's going on. So much mystery surrounding this future world, and i'm very interested in what the answers to all the questions will be.

The opening scenes of the past two episodes show some kind of event that probably led to the utopia that they're in now.

I had the DUMBEST grin on my face during that night canoeing scene with Saki and Shun :D

The OST for this series is really great! I can't wait to listen to it on top of the already amazing ED.

The last half was a little weird. I mean who would have expected that light up creature to be a walking library. Still it's unique and I'm sure there will be more surprises. I've said it already but A-1 really went out with the animation. Absolutely beautiful and not what I'm used to seeing from them.

Wow this anime is getting more and more interesting. I just love the animation in this episode, the night scene was beautiful. They find the Minoshira and find out its a lost ancient creature from a 1000 years ago and it has data stored in it. Finally we will understand the truth behind their past and the origins behind their physic cantos abilities.

Only 3 episodes in and im already loving this show.

Not sure what to think about this series.

The world and characters seem interesting enough, but next to nothing has happened plotwise in what is now 3 episodes.

But judging by the ending of this episode perhaps the next will offer some explanations/plot developments.

Quite a bit of pretty scenery though.

Anyway, the preview look really interresting. It will probably explain the first scene. Really liked that seen by the way, I don't really understand when they say ''500 years after'' (after what..?) but the scene was really well. The style made it look like if it was from another era.

The lake scene was really beautiful. It had a sureal feeling.
