| Yaaay, Summer Wars is one of my all time favourite films, anime or otherwise :D I know there's no chance of it winning, but I really hope it does get nominated. Always good when anime gets a bit of recognition. Hope Despicable Me gets the nod too.<3 Adorable film. Haven't actually seen Toy Story 3 yet, but I know it's amazing so I don't mind that it's obviously going to win XD Pixar are gods.<3 |

| Sorry, but How To Train Your Dragon and Toy Story 3 both definitely deserve to beat Summer Wars. They are just better animated films. I mean, the animation was nice but it really wasn't that great. | I'm pretty sure Summer Wars hasn't been nominated just quite yet, its only been selected to be a potential nomination later on. The same thing happened to Sword of the Stranger, that got on the shortlist, but never got nominated. This is just a selection of titles that COULD be nominated. According to Oscar rules, when there are between 8-16 titles up for nomination, only 3 of those will be selected for nomination. |

| How are these decided on? By votes? Or do they have someone judge the quality of each one and decide on the winners? I was thinking Suzumiya Haruhi no Shoushitsu or Evangelion 2.22 could be nominated, but they probably wouldn't achieve much... especially if the movies are also rated in terms of popularity and such. |

Spirited Away actually won in 2003, and sorry to break it to you DQN but Howls Moving Castle was nominated in for an Oscar in 2006 and La Maison en Petits Cubes won an Oscar last year. |

| I really loved this movie, was lucky enough to also watch it at a cinema screen. It's fantastic and while it will probably not win just a nomination is a great enough honour. |
