Kenny Lauderdale is my favorite but your mileage may vary. He makes videos about old/obscure anime. I don't tend to like anime YouTube because very few people there feel like genuine anime nerds to me. I don't even mean that in an elitist way. An objectively true fact is that most people into anime are more casual fans who stick to current/popular stuff & that is completely fine for them. As someone who watches pretty much everything & loves the medium as a whole, even the old & 'cringe' stuff, I just don't find surface level content particularly interesting. I'm in too deep.

"Why Anime content on Youtube mostly sucks?" Because people who follow such channels are easily entertained - they only search for videos in which their favourite shows are praised. "any suggestions" Define what you are actually expecting for such channels! Like I mainly expect bad takes and and I am getting a lot of those, but not necessary many entertaining ones. TheAnimeSnob has a different approach tho - he trashes other peoples...and has some bad takes of his own. If you like shitposting as a form of entertainment his videos are hit and miss.

Obviously, i don't watch all their videos i'm selective and only watch the ones that are funny or appeal to my particular tastes and if i were being honest i'd say that a small unknown youtuber called bennet the sage is my favorite anituber of all time, because he is very cynical and snarky about old retro anime in his anime abandon series that i enjoy a lot, in fact he reviewed many of my favorites. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC8q7uZVkoeMm_cyTL24GAoA and another one that i enjoy for the same reasons is KaiserBeamz with his kyoto no video webseries https://www.youtube.com/c/KaiserBeamz @alshu |

I only watch anime videos about topics related to anime instead of videos on the specific anime themselves. For example, I love Gigguk's videos where he talks about anime fandoms or one of his more recent videos talking about the visual novel that started on 4chan, I also enjoy the usual supereyepatchwolf video from time to time. I stopped watching anime videos on specific titles themselves because they always boil down to the youtuber either praising the fuck out of the title or bashing said title, so they feel very formulaic. The only one that I enjoy that talks about specific anime is ScamboliReviews. If I had to recommend a particularly unknown anituber I would have to recommend is HitReg. His videos are well produced and he usually covers stories about how mangaka came to be.

The biggest channels are the absolute worst... a lot of them think they're more funny/attractive/interesting/knowledgeable than they are. Some of them are just cringe. One of them shoves the most pathetic pretend-ima-femenist crap into every other sentence. The least terrible of the popular channels might be Glass Reflection, and I respect his DVD collection... but he yammers too much and I get the feeling he doesn't actually watch very much anime- I could be wrong- but it seems that way. But I watched Land of the Lustrous and Case Study of Vanitas from his review.... Also I don't like all the advertising he does or any of these big channels. Once they start doing that, when YT makes me watch commercials, then I'm out. I used to watch animeplz123 and he got me into figure collecting. Then when I stopped buying figures I stopped watching lol... also his humor got too much reliance on memes. I can't keep up with every dam meme... I'm not hip.

TotallyNotMark, Lowart GoatJesus, Kato and Lost Impact Productions are the ones I find myself having a good time with every video I watch, they tend to offer a more in-depth look at the stuff they analyze compared to the bigger anime youtubers, even if I disagree with some videos I still find them interesting because of that.

depends on your taste. I genuinely think gigguk is one of the best youtubers out there. his videos are as good as you can get outside of those few mind blowing production values that sometimes you see on youtube like lemino and stuff. I also really like most of mother's basment videos, the editing is nothing too wild, and he has had some extremely dumb takes (but I mean who hasn't?), but he is a fantastic script writer and an even better... what do you call it... thumbnail maker? there is Scamboli Reviews who I normally disagree with a lot, but I still really enjoy his videos. on the lesser known side: I like professor viral and replay value, and I think you would too of you like analytical type videos. there is satumi the neet, and he's just pretty fun. I don't have much else to say about him. and lastly there is APolygons2 who is definitely not my own shitty youtube channel!

AniNews is the only one I've subscribed to. I've enjoyed his in-depth series on how powerful Ainz and the Floor Guardians are in Overlord. He's done videos about cut content that didn't make it into the anime... shows like Overlord, Shield Hero, Reincarnated as a Slime, etc. He also does some videos on upcoming shows, usually grouped by Genre/primary tags (such as Isekai). Anything by anyone else is just random videos where the title catches my eye.

BLACKANGER said: You're probably not going to find any by looking at popular anitube. I'll admit, a lot of anitubers are a bit substanceless, and a lot make souless videos, but there are some good ones. I'll give some of my personal favorites.I'm really having a hard trying to find a good Youtube channel about Anime and Manga, any suggestions Kor - He uploads very infrequently, but he does some very interesting stuff. In particuar, his series of reviewing every anime from different years in the 80s and 90s is really fascinating in how few of them most people would recognize. His videos have a lot of care and thought put into them. If you like his stuff, check out Stevesekai as well. Also make sure to check out his unlisted videos playlist, as a lot of good content is in there. Hiding in Public - This person has a lot of heart, and it really comes across in his videos. He'll often talk about his experience as a framing device for what he's talking about. His videos feel distinctly personal, while still saying interesting things about the anime or manga or anything else he's talking about. I would reccomend starting out with his Blame! video, which was the video that convinced me to read the manga, as well as his Toradora, Sangatsu no Lion, and Shaman King, and Kaguya Makes Me Happy videos, and then just watch anything else he's made since it's all great, but make sure to get to From You, 5 Years Ago. Also, on his second channel, Hiding in Private, this past year he has released a fantastic, super in-depth analysis of Persona 4... which is a game I haven't played so I haven't seen them all, but they're good videos. Trixie the Golden Witch (YGG Studio) - She... actually retired recently. That said, she has a fantastic backlog. She is probably the most famous of all the youtubers on this list. And man, she's got some great stuff. If you haven't seen it already, check out her The Asterisk War Sucks videos series, which was compiled into a single video. If you like that, check out some of her videos in the Anime Alphabet series, my personal reccomendation would be her Eureka Seven ones. Also, I would highly reccomend you watch her shorter videos about single topics. They can be found all across her backlog, and some of my personal favorites are the Kiruminzoo one, the Konosuba one, the Most Underrated Anime one, Evangelion Altered Anime Eternally, and the Senpai ga Uzai one, as well as a ton of others that I won't list here. Also, at some point a bunch of her videos got deleted, so check out some of the channels that archived her vidoes. The way she structures what she says is very engaging, and anything she does say tends to feels reasonable. Craftsdwarf - He makes the most interesting anime analysis videos of any anituber. When you watch his vidoes, you'll usually find a few new ideas about what he's talking about that you haven't heard elsewhere. He also has a lot of creative integrity, as if he doesn't believe in something he said in a previous video anymore, he will adress it, like how he made a video series criticizing his video series criticizing Fairy Tail, or how some of his old videos have pinned comments explaining the problems he now finds in what he said. I would reccomend his "Anime is Unrealistic." Made in Abyss lolis, One Piece Absolute Justice, Shounen Isn't For Me, and his comparison video about March Comes in like a Lion and Your Lie in April. His videos might be my favorite out of everyone on here, but it's tough to say. Moon Anime - The smallest channel on this list. He only started making videos recently, but they're pretty good. In fact, his channel is so small that you won't be able to find it by just searching for Moon Anime, you need to search for a specific video, like Moon Anime Eureka Seven. I would personally reccomend his videos about Eureka Seven, Macross, Food Wars, and Usagi Drop. Keksi - Very differnet from the other channels I mentioned. It's just a chaotic channel made for messing around, but it can be entertaining. If you like it, take a look at JackIsBoy for similar content. There are, of course, others that are good as well, but I don't really feel like writing about any of them. As for a lot of (not all) the more popular ones, I'm afraid I'm going to have to agree with post #28 on this one, as well as the others who said similar things: KitsuFreeze said: Most animetubers don't even watch anime regularly anymore, the best they do is keep up with new trends and speak obvious takes. |

Most older big anime channels who became wealthy no longer consume much anime. The art of reviews got mostly destroyed by people going elsewhere to just decide what anime to watch, and copyright enforcement everywhere. As for anime channels I still like, many rarely ever upload besides people like thatanimesnob and bobsamurai. I noticed some anime channels switched focus to vtuber stuff when that became popular since it is a profitable market, but that is not as true anymore.

I don't know kind of dislike most anime youtubers, kind of think that anime videos are useless unless they are somewhat educational or informative. From what anime youtubers I can remember STEVEM and Hazel are pretty cool. Kind of like Red Bard as well, Kenny Lauderdale sometimes does cool videos but most of them are just clickbaity and annoying to actually watch. KaizerBeamz is pretty cool. Most popular youtubers who do anime content don't actually talk about anime in any kind of meaningful way, they just give their opinion and act like that's meaningful content, that's probably why the most big popular "anime creators" don't do videos about anime anymore.
