| You've re-invited the word glomp into my memory and that is a sin for which you will not be forgiven. Thankfully "otaku" is going out of fashion. I've openly shared my annoyance with westerners using the word otaku mostly for the irony embedded in the reasons most of them prefer to use it. Hard to think of other examples, but it is less common for people to interject random Japanese (read: kawaii), and if they do it is more obvious they are likely preteens whereas before they could've easily been 30. |

| Bishie I see used quite a bit even now. I mean I use husbando when referring to my favourite male characters. However if I'm crushing on a male characters, even if he's not my favourite I'll still call him bishie, ifvI find him attractive enough. Otaku is considered even now insulting, at least in Japan (like geek or dork). Weeb is insulting in the western world, as far as I know. I don't mind being called an otaku, but I would pile drive the person who calls me a weeb. I may love japanese culture and some of it's subcultures. However I wouldn't say "I'd prefer to be a japanese citizen, in stead of what I am". |

| I always thought the term "Japanimation" was silly even as a kid. I've seen some guys in their 50s that still say it. Glomp sure is a throwback tho. Everyone should be glad that one faded away. |

| I remember most of those words mentioned in op, expect glomp and gar. Never heard them used, but I guess they didn't catch on here just like weeaboo word neither. Bara in a way. It's more like old word that for a reason still sometimes gets used by English fans while it's usually called just gay comics/ML these days. Lime and lemon in certain circles, but those weren't limited to just animanga. Also somewhat related I don't quite much see people saying "crack ship". "Rare pair/ship" even more often. AMV culture isn't so thriving these days and I don't remember when I have last time heard/seen someone use word "mep". |

What's a recent nakige release that you think was good? You've liked clannad and little busters from what I saw in your favs, so I guess you could go for summer pockets. It's another recent release from the same developers. I haven't personally gotten to that one, so I would personally recommend nanairo reincarnation because of that and the youkai/oni charas. It got a recent TL sometime in 2020 I think and it is a decent title. Can't say the same for summer pockets that I haven't played yet. It has kind of come into the fate/stay sort of mainstream and the ratings could be very bloated, as is common. Also, after reading lucifrost's comment a different thought struck me, I think you may have been right considering animes of nakige titles losing out in popularity over the years may have taken the word out of usage in the anime community. Usage of the word must have seeped into the anime community due to the sheer popularity of those shows for a while. Nowadays, however, shows like "kamisama ni natta hi" just don't get that popular, i guess. You're completely right in that most of the 12 ep compressions are bound to be bad, and I guess even anime originals may not have the same reception anymore. |
