Every now and then, I'll see user's profiles where other users will attack them for their opinions on anime reviews or their scores for certain anime. Personally, I think it's kind of petty. I'll admit that often times I'll see the reviews of users with certain opinions that I may disagree with. Some of them may even troll to get a rise out of people from certain fandoms. But I refrain from it. What about you? Have you gotten into any disagreements with people on their opinions? Or are you respectful of their perspectives? |

just apply the golden rule, treat others the way you want to be treated, so if you talk shit then expect to get shit talk in return lol but if your review is constructive criticism kind then the hate you will get is moderator report worthy |

I can disagree with reviews or even think a review is bad/stupid/shallow and not attack the person who wrote it. Those profile attacks are kinda silly and useless, I don't think reviewers give a shit about the dumb things you spam on their profiles. |

I am always respectful, and never come on to someone's profile comments to bash their taste, much less attack them for it To be honest, I'm kind of surprised (but very thankful) that I've never been "attacked" for some of my ratings, since I'm pretty vocal about my dislike of popular series like Madoka Magica, Pop Team Epic and Vivy, lol |

I gave Hololive Alternative an appalling score and a Hololive fan goes out of their way to basically tell me I'm wrong and calls me a Chinese. I don't know what the last bit is about, though. As for me, I won't go out of my way to 'confront' someone or ask them anything about their review. |

profile attacks are dumb it's just subjective opinions. ignore them and move on. |

Well tbh, I've never seen anyone attacking a reviewer that criticizes respectfully. Some reviews are just so highly biased that the whole purpose of it is to shit on the said anime. Like say what you want but you can't deny that the show had a lot of plus points. So I can sort of understand why people do that. And yes, there are some retards that that spam reviewer's profile without even reading the whole thing. |

I havent attacked anyone but asked some questions about really questionable reviews. Then the reviewer insulted me, funny. I think reviews are and should be matter of critique, not to the point of insulting the poster (That is ridiculous) but to respectfully disagree and try to convey how they somehow got to such conclussion. The scores are meaningless though, but if I can poke fun out of someone because of it why not |

I've had people do this to me before. If someone disagrees with my review I'm willing to entertain and respect whatever their perspective is on a show, or they can tell me what they think is wrong about what I said. But if someone is going to message me to just say "you think x show is better than y so your opinion is invalid" or "I wish I could downvote your review" or something like that, I just think they're kind of stupid and self absorbed and cannot deal with the fact that people have different opinions from their own. Like why would I care what you, some random person, think of my opinion, if you cannot even tell me what about my review you disagree with and why? I feel like people on this site constantly express this view that other people's posts and reviews are all just posturing to make themselves look smarter and superior and all that. Like whatever other people post, they don't really think those thoughts, they just say they think them for the sake of impressing others or whatever. That is like a totally egocentric fantasy land perspective to have. I'm just here writing what I think for the sake of my own understanding and for the sake of discussion. I'm sure it's the same for most other people. My mental life doesn't revolve around whether you, random internet person, can see that I'm better than you because of my anime opinion. If someone wants to have an actual discussion I'm more than happy to, whether we disagree or not. |

I started posting reviews a little while ago, and most are from unknown anime. I was never attacked because of a review. They have already attacked my profile a lot for not agreeing with the opinion of others in relation to some anime. But they didn't attack once, they were many times. It's usually a bunch of retarded people. |

i personally haven't done that, nor have people done that to me. (i'm usually chill though). i've had others play around jokingly because they'll go "this anime/character is one of your favorites", or "you gave ____ a 10", but they were never malicious (i assume). i laugh along and find it amusing because i know what i like isn't what people expect of me. your taste is yours. i'd take someone who is true to themselves on what they enjoy rather than someone who fakes it for some sort of useless cred that i could care less about. eye for an eye if you choose to talk shit, really. as for arguments, because i know that i have the tendency to be standoffish and critical if given a chance to argue with someone whose different opinions tick me off in some way or another, i try not to engage. when i do, it's usually when i see that they are being belligerent, willingly ignorant, or stubborn about it. |

I try to be respectful to everyone, but even so something similar happened with me twice. First, it was some random dude who posted on my profile asking me rudely why I gave a 10 to Steins;Gate and just a 9 to FMAB, lmao. The second guy posted on my profile a bunch of reasons of why he thinks Re:Zero is better than Steins;Gate after I posted on a thread that Steins;Gate is way better than Re:Zero. This one wasn't rude, but he could just quote me on the thread instead of going to my profile. Anyway, in both cases I just ignored and deleted the post |

Personal attacks are childish and mainly done by trolls who get a kick out of putting down others, and even more when their victims respond back. Though I have come across many profiles with trash taste and opinions, I will just squirm in disgust and go on with the rest of my day. |

I've only ever had one person contact me about my review and t'was rather amicable. Also, if some shitstain starts causing a ruckus I can just put them on the list of people who can't comment there. There was this fanatical Re:Zero fan who seemed to enjoy shitting on all people who didn't think it was a 10/10 and I had a visit from him. He is indeed on the list. |

That's pretty dumb, innit? I actually find reviews that criticize a given show/movie quite interesting to read (even if it is something that I like), because they often have a very different perspective. There's no point bashing anyone for their opinions, I think it's always best to agree to disagree and move on. I've had one self-proclaimed "God taste in anime" guy calling my taste shit because I gave Tatami a low score. That was pretty funny. I personally refrain from saying anything since I'm quite accepting of different opinions. The only time I'm ever tempted to leave a comment is if someone does all of these: - gives a 1 star review to an anime that I think should be an 8 or higher - provides zero constructive criticism - gives reasons based purely on his/her own ignorance of the show - insults anyone who likes the anime I've noticed that the trolls who get bombarded with attacks are usually the ones asking for it in the first place, so I personally don't mind seeing that sometimes. If reviews are respectful, then they should rarely receive any attacks on their profile page. |

I don't engage in anything negative/toxic when it comes to reviewing. If I don't agree then I just don't. Some reviews are baseless, so I'd just chuckle and move on. I don't get why people are so offended and feel the need to attack someone personally for having a different opinion. I only ever compliment people when they point out positive/negative things about a certain anime or when it's a good analysis that I agree with. |

about two years ago, on another anime collecting database site, i wrote positive remarks in the comment section of two tsundere characters i always liked. In a couple of days two notifications arrived and actually expected those to be attacks for my praising opinion of some characters (back then i was writing one once a day for always different people). Of course, i was right... it was sort of "hOw DaRe YoU lIkE tHiS dIsGuTiNg BrAt, aRe U sTuPiD?????" and "AlSo, ShE's C.aP tOo!!!!111!!!!11!!" Deleted these two comments and gave a quick look at her page, in which she bragged about hating tsunderes with other people as she was involved in some sort of sacred crusade for the good of mankind. Instead of giving her a taste of her own medicine in her comment section, i chose to write this in my pretty much unused homepage's introduction "Oh, you're upset because I like Kaname Chidori and Chitoge Kirisaki, a couple of tsundere characters you hate? To a point that you need to attack me on my page? Grow up and get a life, loser. The world doesn't revolve around you. After sports and musicians, we have hooligans of fictional characters or against them. This is the world we live in..." |

Who are you and why do you show your hostility towards a complete stranger whom you've not once spoken with before. Are you seriously asking to get blocked?
