When is an anime "old"?
| The definition of "old" is different for everyone. For me, an anime strikes me as old when it whips out the "Please watch in a well-lit room and from a distance". That'll put it in early-to-mid 2000s or older for me. |

| I just take 10 years, and everything before that period is old. So everything before 2011 is old. Everything after 2011 isn't. |

| Things start getting "old" to me whenever at least 15 years have passed since their release. That's my psychological limit. So currently to me anything prior to 2005-2006 is old. |

Lol, man, that got a giggle out of me. I remember a lad at school when I was a kid talking about Fist of the North Star, the "old" one. I was always looking for a way to watch it, never managed it. This was pre-Torrenting days, when the internet was still dial-up. Years later when I did watch an episode on some streaming site I was like "wtf is this trash, lol". |

Your post seems to imply that old=bad. Anime released around 2000 is going to seem old to a lot of people, especially teens and people in their early 20's, so shows like Cowboy Bebop are quite old now from their point of view, that doesn't make them bad though. Personally, I prefer the artstyle of 90's anime over any other. |

| 0-1 years old: new (2021-2020) 2-3 years old: recent (2019-2018) 4-6 yrs: modern, but not that recent (2017-2015) 6-9 yrs: modern, quite a while ago (2015-2012) 10-19 yrs: aged, anything 10+ years can qualify as "nostalgic" for me now. (I don't feel nostalgia like I used to, but anything I do find nostalgic falls into this period) (2011-2007) 20-30 yrs: dated (2001-1991) because I grew up in a time when I was watching 80s-90s anime, and new stuff was 2004-2006, I will always consider anything 1986-current not old, and anything 1985-prior as "old". so, TL;DR - Pre-1986. |

| for me it's 1999 minus, too bad there's only 200 minus. anyway, i kinda consider the whole 99minus anime as "old anime" while 2000-2010 as my time of anime, most of 2010-2013+ anime are different generation. |
