The finale was handled a lot better than the show itself would give this ep 9/10
Torasuke searching trash can for Himuro was highlight of it.

overall score 5/10

Himuro getting grilled about how sloppy of a research paper she wrote is the reason I love this show. Plus the 100 mood index kiss was great. Very cute show and a ton of fun for anyone with a science and math background.

Finally the kiss. They did well setting the mood for that climax.

This anime wasn't exactly like super groundbreaking nor amazing but it's interesting enough that I watched it weekly. It's one those lighthearted romance that's easy to watch. No heavy melodrama just cutesy romance of two awkward characters. Im biased towards female characters like himuro when it comes to romance anime. The "ice queen" personality is overdone but I watch it everytime and enjoyed it everytime lol. Overall, the side characters are dull, the op is catchy, the romance between the main characters is interesting enough.

Some of the reviews baffles me because one mentioned there's not really that much science. But when I started watching it, it seemed science enough. Science is mostly gathering data and coming up with a conclusion using the gathered data. Maybe they think science is when you mix strange liquids in a test tube...well anyway, I would normally give this a 6 or 7, but Im bumping my score to 8 just because I think it's a little bit underrated.

Can't believe we've reached the end of this. Wow I'm sad to see Himuro and Yukimura go. For sure one of the most slept on of the season

Ok, just finished, omg so when the kiss at the beach happened I was legit Jordan fistpumping the air and cheesing like a mf. I love cute romance shows so much. It was such a rewarding moment. Now we just need Ena and kouhai to get together and I'll be complete.

The ending had a sense of finality, so I don't think there will be a s2, but I will def continue reading the manga, have bought the first 5 volumes already, It's been a pleasure watching this with y'all! Overall, Rikekoi gets 9 hearts out of 10.

Haha I just read this comment on the r/anime discussion! (hello from reddit!) What a coincidence!!!

Also I couldn't agree with you more though! When it all came together with that kiss scene, I was all giggles and smiles!

Now onto the manga!

Good finale. I really enjoyed the ep. Most of the early ones are kinda mediocre for me with all those scientific explanations.

And that scene with Torasuke at the end was so funny xDDD

Better than your average seasonal show, but doesn't stand out enough to be great. Humorous, but not lough-out-loud funny. The clean character designs felt nice and all of the characters were unique enough to add something to the show, although I can't help but feel Kousuke felt a little outdated and the mangaka just felt kind of unnecessary. The show did get a little repetitive as it went on, but I'm not going to complain too much as it was only 12 episodes. It may have worked better as a 12 minute show. I do think this show left somewhat of an impression on me though and I feel like I will look back in a few years with nostalgia goggles and remember it as better than it actually was.

Well...the usual "end episode kiss" cliché after so long. Do we really need to suffer 3 months (or in Amazon Prime's bestest wisdom to release all in one shot for a day's worth of binge) just to buildup to this moment?

Finding Himuro in a large area is like finding a needle in a haystack, not to mention Yamamoto's psychological sabotage of the "double" present. In all seriousness, Yukimura being a science-type only delivered in this moment from a case basis.

Even to the very end, the rom-com full of scientific and romance missteps does deliver...at the eventual kiss and their "right settings" of analysis. *Whew, finally blew off steam*

OK ending to the average rom-com clones of which this show adds a number to it. 7/10 to be very generous.

hahaha That's a good ending!
It takes 12 episodes for them too kiss, actually .. they are already in love with each other since episode 1 but too many dramatic "nonsense" and it takes so long to have them reconcile their feelings! Still, it's good. 6/10.

Gonna echo the sentiment that the last 2 eps were not as enjoyable as the rest of the show. The mangaka character being a self insert for the author and stirring up drama in-universe is clever and all, but it doesnt change the fact that the drama is unnecessary and out of place in what is supposed to be a fun light hearted comedy.

Went from an 8 to a 7 with this finale. Kanade and Ibara really carried this show.

About time Himoru and Yukimura made up. Despite the anime being frustrating to watch at times, it ended on a higher note. Himoru and Yukimura have taken the first step to being in a relationship, but they have a long way to go.

I give this anime a 7/10 and I'm going to check out the web manga. Also the anime could have use a little bit more fan service.

I do agree with Ibarada being best girl because she carried the remainder of this series.

Bro not every anime needs fanservice. I'm sick of it. If you want fanservice, go watch an ecchi anime.

It was fun for the first few episodes, but the comedy overstayed it's welcome and the show got increasingly cringe and slightly boring, last eps with that new character manga girl only there to manufacture a conflict to end on was just annoying, at the end i was just happy it ended because i had already entered fast forward mode and ready to drop it. 6/10

Finally finished watching this today.

Glad that I gave it a chance as I've also read the manga. It took the idea of sciene and mixed it with romance themes. Loved the experimental humor in this with the numbers, statisticals, and dialogue usage.

A big part of what makes this show entertaining imo is the character chemistry, in particular Himuro and Yukimura. Glad to see they had the kiss in the series finale. Ena Ibarada is also pretty entertaining to watch with her mischievous personality. This is a 8/10 for me.

Ok I need to be honest in the meantime I checked date of when anime had premier and volume release date (to have bigger sample), turned out that back then manga (volume 7 10.01.2020) was on 40 place and in 12.03.2020 volume 8 was on 44 place. 493 place is from 03.04.2020

So it seems that manga is kinda popular, like someone described it "~40 place is decent placement", when I was asking about different manga.

This is definitely not the place to make false assumptions lol. Shame!

So the manga's doing alright, that's good to hear. But what about the anime? The likelihood of the second season is mostly based on the anime's popularity.

And this is when I hit the brick wall, I have zero knowledge of japanese language and only what I can find is that in Japan number of google search (of a title) skyrocket after anime release, number of searches with added word animation (アニメ) also isn't zero and twitter account of rikekoi have almost 15 thousand followers.

The ending was so sweet. Luckily, the mangaka was not thoroughly evil in the endand and all loose ends were wrapped up. Ibarada even got one up on her.

It was an enjoyable series – a romantic comedy done well.

Meanwhile Kanade...

... is amazing too.

YukimuraxHimuro <3, and Kanade... ... haha.. she'll get her turn later to taste the sweetness of love XD.

What a perfect finale execution of finale for me luv it XD.

well, good grief Yamamoto still had good intentions despite doing a little bad touch for her pleasure on making her manga... ending up really good for YukimuraxHimuro XD.

And that Kishuku Gakkou Juliet references XD, i just remembered that Yukimura and Himuro was also somehow appeared as cameo in one of it's chapter.

Love the build up toward their kisses, with a great scientific explanation and nice bgm.. made me grinning non stop haha. the the theoritical maximum value and the love shape equation tho XD....on the top of that Both of them were freakin adorable ( the kiss and hug:3).

I really glad they adapted this one since this series hooked me directly since it's first manga serialization and easily become one of my fav Manga/Anime, The science and romcom combination is really my fav thing. well since the manga still ongoing it'll be really great if they also adapted into a sequel tho since there are a lot more adorable and fun things going on in the source and definitely i ll be more than happy to see it.

Thank you Yamamoto-sensei for makin this wonderful series (nice breaking the 4th wall too with your own character XD)
Easy 10/10 for me.

Overall I enjoyed it, but those 2 last episodes just ruined it. All I were asking for was a sincere apology from Himuro, with that I could have forgiven the show, but no, we don't do that here. Also, with what the mangaka did, how people be just "don't worry, you are a hateful person but is ok"? The so acclaimed logic doesn't apply with toxic persons, I see.

A 6/10 is a generous score from what could have even been a 8/10 for me.

And yes, Ibarada best girl.

Mostly enjoyed this too but agree the last 2 episodes were a bit of a let down even though the ending was relatively satisfying.

I've watched a fair bit of anime now but I really don't get why so many series fail to develop the main male lead. Often every other character will progress to some degree but he'll end up being pretty much the same as he started.

In this case, Yukimura hadn't actually changed at all - he's still considering everything through a limited scietific framework only and I don't think there's a single introspective moment where he considers any real 'love' towards Himuro the same way she does for him.

HIGH MOOD-LEVEL KISS, they finally became the cute couple after all the struggles. Although Himuro is cute and all, Ibarakai was best girl (sorry Aika) for making Yamamoto pay there.
Fun series with the science people exaggerations and their research on evidence of love. Nice to see concepts like TSP problem, NP-Hard since they are related to my study.

Disappointed that they never made the joke: "Watt is love? Baby don't hertz me, don't hertz me no morse" or research real problematic questions like 'is mayonnaise an instrument?' or smth.

A very cute ending. Used to shows never reaching a kiss or even handholding, so this was a surprise.
At times quite hilarious w/o the shouting-styled comedy, but instead with education & logic values, giving every old situation a fresh feel.
Small studio zero-g able to keep art fairly good.
Last arc megane villain annoying trope but Ibarada did foreshadow her, and at least got layered motives behind it.
Great awkward main couple, & the three sides are amazing with the support & their own struggles.

Funny, emotional and romantic but predictable ending.
So, Yamato did that for her manga, but she had extra glasses with her, so it wasn't that bad.
When Himuro fell on her face was the funniest moment.
And the most romantic moment was the kiss with the mood system.

Alright opening, amazing ending, a bit of character development, likeable side/main characters, funny moments, romantic and a lot of fanservice.

The anime reminded me a lot of Steins Gate, but the walmart version xD.
6/10 +1 for enjoyment, 7/10 (7.5/10)

This show shone a different light on my RL relationship... Not in a good way. lol.
It is with a heavy heart that I must admit I understand this overanalytical relationship.
However it is seldom that I see a show with nothing interesting but two random people trying out love in their own way. The show literally does nothing else for me (no interesting characters, no interesting story or sidestories, no tension, "science" seems lame etc).
I would rate it between a 4 and a 5. Like a 4,5. But MAL doesn't do that so I will give it a 5.

Also a second season was announced and I am a sucker for romcoms so here I am!
