THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
They had about 3 chapters to adapt for the series' finale and it's quite a thriller with Bucciarati taking care of business. Kinda funny and sad to see Sex Pistols one last time.

Good to see familiar faces in the finale. (including Trish and even Polnareff) It's been such a journey that they made it so far. Those memories with Bucciarati and the gang won't be forgotten. I'm going to miss this show.

Now that was great, as expected we came full circle with the missing scenes from the opening sequence belonging to the final scene at the end. No Stone Ocean teaser sadly, but I am pretty sure David Pro will announce that sooner or later.

And with that, Part 5 - Vento Aureo comes to end. It's been a wild ride, see you once Jolyne's antics start :)

Best JoJo adaptation in the series so far, by far. DP did an excellent job this time round. The art, the animation, the OST, everything was so fucking good. I'm so glad now we can FINALLY put the "part 5 is bad" meme to rest since DP excelled with this adaptation. What a time to be alive, I'm gonna miss this show.

What a blast these past 10 months have been. David Production literally blessed with an amazing adaptation of Part 5, by having superb animation and being extremely faithful to the manga. They are gradually becoming a big studio, and I honestly cannot wait for their next works, as well as a possible Part 6 adaptation, however it's a bit early for that. Also props to ALL voice actors for their brilliant work as well.

Episode 38 & 39: 5/5
OVERALL SERIES: 10/10 (despite some minor flaws, it deserves it)

Let's hope we meet again someday, when Part 6 airs...

They ended the anime same way as manga, not really a fan of that but the way they animated was really good, I'm gonna miss this part and fate has always been the main theme of part 5, sleeping slaves arc only give more depth to this part. Overall this was a good adaption, probably my favorite one so far.

Well, it is over.

As an adaptation this is the best Jojo part yet. Everything was done the same (or better) than the manga. Great animation, great music, perfect pacing... As an adaptation by itself this is a 10/10. DaPro really outdid itself this time.

Now we don´t have the Stone Ocean teaser, but It is something that will happen over time (I will say in 3 years, considering Fire Force is their big project at the moment).

I am really gonna miss my Gangstars, since they are my favorite Jojo squad, but at the same time I can´t wait to see some of the best Stone Ocean arcs and characters (I am talking to you, Weather Report).

Btw Giorno in the black suit looked great.

What a weird ending honestly, ending the story with a backstory. So, it was apparently already destined for them to die, however, only upcoming Buccellati's death was known to the group, orrrr to Mista who didn't even realize that he's dead until the end.

Good season whatsoever. To me at least, this was the best animated Jojo season, so far.

I didn’t expect the Rolling Stone arc to take that much time and DP didn’t add any anime additions to the epilogue. Not that I’m complaining, but it’s just out of my expectation. Anyways, Giorno looked really fabulous in the black suit at the end.

As much as I love Vento Aureo, I’m not a fan of its final battle. But I have to say that the Rolling Stone arc is no doubt a sublimation of the theme and it takes this part to another level. If Mista hadn’t tried so hard to prevent Buccellati from touching the stone, Abbacchio’s & Narancia’s lives could have been saved. But Buccellati wouldn’t have ended up meeting Giorno or would have been dead alone when he confronted KC in Venezia. And nothing would have changed for the city & the drug situation. Their deaths are their fight against the fate.

Part 5 was an absolutely amazing journey from the start to the end. It’s also a turning point for me to realize that JOJO had already surpassed most of my favorite shows.

When I started watching part 3, I got interested in the whole series. So I searched for the info of each parts. (Yeah, I didn’t start the series from part 1. Don’t judge me.) When I found the background settings of part 5-7 to be mafia,
, I was kinda disappointed cuz none of these settings are my cup of tea. But I ended up loving part 5 the most, lol. And I’m not even talking about the anime form.
When DiU was airing, I couldn't resist the temptation of reading Part 5. And I’ve read through to Part 8 already. Believe me, I tried to stop before starting part 6, but failed. This shows how great part 5 is as a manga. I see quite a few ppl criticize it. I don’t know if they just read the bad version or it just didn’t sit well with them.
But for me, no matter what form it is in, manga or anime, both Araki & DP are capable enough to bring out the greatness of this series.

Imo, there’re a few things about Golden Wind that really stand out among the franchise.
1. The Interactions among our main crew. There’s this unique chemistry about them that you can’t help loving them. They could goof around & talk about daily life and at the next second kick the shit out of the enemies or ruthlessly mess with them.
2. The impressive partnerships. From this part, we started to have this obvious partnership in most of the fights. Even the antagonists were paired. And what surprised me was that these minor villains also cared for their partners in different ways.
●Prosciutto & Pesci: I thought Prosciutto was a grumpy & manipulative guy. But it turned out that he cared for Pesci enough to sacrifice himself for Pesci’s growth.
●Squalo & Tiziano: They genuinely cared for each other to an extent that one can sacrifice himself for anther. From this point, they’re no difference from our protagonists.
●Cioccolata & Secco: I thought they’re somehow bonded in a twisted way, but the pet actually wasn’t loyal at all while the scum master cared a little bit about his pet.
3. The tension. Somehow the manga managed to keep the tension throughout the whole journey of part 5. It had me on the edge of my seat during the climaxes. And JJBA anime never failed to capture the tension from the original work.
4. The creative & versatile stand fights. As mentioned above, I’m not a fan of the final battle in GW. My most favorite finale is the epic fight between Dio & Jotaro, so you can see how disappointed I felt about the final battle in GW considering how different these 2 final battles are. But I must say that most fights in this part are the best ones throughout the series. Part 5 is never most favored by the majority of the fanbase. But I’m glad that a lot of manga readers who don’t like it that much still speak highly of the fights in GW. This might be the best proof of how fascinating & compelling the fights are.

Sorry for the long comment. It’s time for “Part 6 never”, I guess?

The manga of Part 5 was one of the weakest parts for me. However, the anime really elevated the source material by adding the intense and emotional impact the manga lacked. Moments such as Abbacchio's death were done so well in the anime. I will say this though, the last third of Part 5 is the weakest chunk, even with DP putting in immense effort in making it much better than the manga. The final fight is drowned in so much confusion that it's hard to find it as engaging as Part 3 and 4's climax. However, it's still really damn good. And this is probably my second-favorite anime part, right behind Part 4.

Okay so I'm actually a little unsatisfied with this JoJo ending.
First off the final fight and these last few episodes were a bit.. anticlimatic ? I mean it was almost a one sided slaughter, I thought Diavolo might make a comeback or have something up his sleeve but ugh.. guess not ?
And then there's Fugo ? Back when he bailed i was like "Yeah no he's sure to come back later on at a critical time in the story and help them" but i guess he simply... bailed out ? And never came back ? And we're never gonna hear about him again ? Okay.
And then there's the arrow plot hole to mention because Jotaro only finds out about the arrows in Part 4 so the post-egypt arc flashback with them tracking down the owners of the arrows doesn't really make sense... So I'm actually gonna drop down the score to a 9/10 i guess.. it was still one hell of an enjoyable journey but damn does this finale feel off to me.

The man who keeps worrying about his luck is the one who doomed his fellow friends to death and he will never know it. When you try to fight fate and its consequences, you may think you won but in the end, you just led everything to an even worse future ... Part 4 taught us that fate doesn't mean anything and that we can break out from it, but part 5's conclusion is the exact opposite.

Anyway, Giorno in black is my new sexuality.

Disappointed we didn’t get more content at the last 5 minutes, like an explanation what happened to Trish and Fugo.

But why are people crying about waiting for weeks and then getting this anti climatic battle? It was established pretty early on that the one who gets the arrow wins, and the final battle was the race to get the arrow. During that fight, Mista and Trish saved the arrow from getting into Diavolo’s hands and Bruno sacrificed his life for Giorno to get it.

Also, it was never meant to be a 3-week gap, it happened because they ran out of slots. They didn’t do a gap on purpose to hype up an epic final battle, it was already over

We saw how Rolling Stones basically foreshadowed the deaths of Bucciarati, Abbachio and Narancia and showed that fate cannot be changed. Giorno is now the new boss of Passione and accomplished his goal. I wasn't expecting a part 6 trailer so cannot say I'm disappointed since barring part 3 they haven't done it again. 10/10 for this part. I came to appreciate it far more after going through the bad scans of the manga.

Well that was a terrible ending. After all the hype leading up to this point, it ends with a flashback. What was the point of that if we don't even get to see Mista discovering Bucciarati died? That alone would have made it better imo, though I like the meaning behind it all.

Ending aside, Stardust Crusaders is still my personal favorite, but this definitely surpassed it. Despite already knowing some big spoilers, I was still blown away by the reveals and this had some of the most fun battles and stand abilities.

I already knew Bucciarati died due to Eyes of Heaven (the biggest pain to fight). The fact that he died in his first confrontation against Diavolo, yet was somehow revived (through sheer will power?) and still be able to take part in the final battle, that was beautiful. I gained more respect for his character towards the end too.

And the other spoiler is that Doppio and Diavolo were split personalities. I absolutely love how Araki wrote this part and the big reveal in general. To have them constantly communicate as separate beings and Doppio using anything as a phone to do so, not to mention the flashbacks, I couldn't get enough. Those were some of my favorite episodes in general.

Araki always creates great main villains and I feel like he tops them with each new series. It's just a shame that Diavolo didn't get the chance to do much.

Aaaahhhh this was such a fun journey. Thank you Araki and David Productions for another great JoJo. I can't wait to rewatch it all when it's fully released on BD!

Diavolo’s fate was way too cruel, yes he was a horrible person and he killed 3 jobros, but an infinite death loop was way too much. I wish he died slowly and painly for good. And its disappointing to see him get fucked over my GER, I wished he went down with a good fight like DIO or Kira Yoshikage.

On a side note, this is m favourite part so far.

This was definitely an interesting finale that I feel like ended in a way that you rarely ever see in......probably any media, not just anime. It's not very often that you get more content after the final boss battle, especially in the form of a flashback. But it was still fun and entertaining to watch, from that first episode back in October of last year, to today. It was pretty heartbreaking though to see that the fallen Jobros were doomed to die from the very start, despite Mista's efforts to prevent that. Anyway, another part of Jojo is in the books now, and now the long wait for part 6 begins T_T

It's cool that Giorno achieved his goal, but something else I wish we could have seen was some kind of update on Fugo. That was one of the things that kind of bothered me, all we saw from him after his separation from the group (not including this finale) was that brief shot of him after Narancia died. Ah well, no biggie. 8/10 for this part.

Part 5 deserves that kind of final episode. Epic, beautiful in terms of art and music, and with philosophical background.

I loved SFX used in the opening, same as GER figure in the final ending. The scene after it was truly a cherry on top. Giorno wearing fabulous dark clothes accepts tribute from everyone as the new boss of Passione.

Polnareff ended positively in negative situation. Like, he is technically dead and trapped inside the turtle, but his soul and consciousness survived, he won in the end and he became a guardian of the golden arrow. So not awesome, but not bad fate either.

Rock that predicts the fate of certain people was great both in its concept and how it was executed. Fate that cannot be changed and struggling against it can bring more pain... And Mista, a guy who is obsessed on luck and superstitions, is in the center of everything. Florist's daughter's fate that was finally revealed was quite unexpected.

Whole episode was awesome, as I mentioned above. Too bad we didn't get an extra scene with Fugo. At least he appeared after Narancia's death. But what really saddened me is no information or announcement about Part 6's adaptation plans. :(

About overall score, despite minor flaws, this Part indeed deserves 10/10. :)

The best Jojo part till now, really loved how all the characters we care for are shown like Giorno,Mista,Polnareff and Trish.GER and Sex Pistols was so nicely portrayed in the show.

At the post credits scene Giorno became the new Boss.

The Anime really improved the manga, though the ending was anticlimactic.I am hoping we get some OVA's like we did after part 4 which will adapt the light novel which is basically the sequel of Part 5.

Although I really enjoyed Golden Wind, it is definitely the weakest part of JoJo IMO ( besides Phantom Blood )

There were some stupid ass-pulls, fugo was a complete waste of a character, Diavolo is kind of a boring villain. He can't even hold a candle to Yoshikage Kira. Part 4 Diamond is Unbreakable is still the best JoJo season easily.

But overall an enjoyable watch. 7/10

Its finally over. As with all the other Jojo seasons, part 5 has been a wild ride. But as an anime only, I'm still not sure how I would rank it with the others.

Pros:

  • Best fights out of all the previous parts, both in quality and quantity
  • Due to the previous point, its the most engaging, most exciting, and most intense part so far
  • Despite some flaws like reusing animation frames, static images in place of animation in some fights, and occasional derpy faces, its still the most visually impressive part to date
  • The main cast of characters are great, as is the case with all Jojos and Jobros from previous parts
  • T H E M E S

Cons:

  • Abundance of fights with little to no downtime in between means fewer opportunities to really develop the personal bonds between the characters. Not that the camaraderie between the gang members is hard to believe, but its not as developed as something like the Josuke-Okuyasu-Koichi dynamic of part 4.
  • I think Giorno is very unique and well characterized even by Jojo protagonist standards, but I can see him being too dull or uninteresting for some people
  • Although we like to joke about Jojo's use of asspulls, sometimes it really does stretch our suspension of disbelief a bit too much, and part 5 is no exception
  • While I personally liked it, I can see why some people feel that the final fight was a bit anti-climactic

I'm not sure if I like it more than part 2 and 4, but its definitely better than 1 and 3.

Stand Name: Gold Experience Requiem
Stand Ability: You Win.

I enjoyed it overall but thought that Rolling Stone was completely unnecessary, why do we need to know that Bucciarati, Abbacchio and Narancia were fated to die all along? The impacts of their deaths can speak for themselves, if anything the way it tries to add extra importance to their deaths almost ends up cheapening them. For a minute I thought they were going to reveal that Mista knew they were going to die all along, but then the stone breaks which leaves Mista with no solid reason to believe that Bruno will die, so it ends up being completely inconsequential. Maybe if they had shown Mista's reaction to going back to see Bruno's dead body it would have let them have a more satisfying payoff but it just skips all that.

I also found Giorno to be almost as boring as Jonathan, he ended up just spouting generic hero lines about truth, justice and courage for most of the entire part.

Of course I would've loved a more action packed back and forth ending like Part 3 but this ending did a great job staying true to all the themes and motions of the season.

In fitting fashion David Productions changed fate and dispelled the notion of Part 5 being the worst part especially in the west, and I couldn't be more happy.
