| If you happen to change your scores from time to time, what has been your most drastic one (whether it happened at once or was a gradual process) and what were the reasons behind the change? Mine is Pokemon. When I joined MAL, I remember I scored it with a 3/10. "Very basic, poor and repetitive show made only to advertise the games and merch" I said to myself at the moment of deciding the score. Some months later I thought I was being just too harsh, after all it was a kid-oriented show that shouldn't be judged with the same standards as an adult-oriented show, so I moved it up to 5/10. Another couple of months later, I randomly rewatched a bunch of its episodes in Netflix and realized that I actually loved it, regardless of its simple, basic and formulaic nature, and that it was fulfilling its goal to be just a matinee-entertainment show, I thought that it was accomplishing its television-wise mission, so why not? I moved it up again to 7/10. And finally, when I stopped giving a s*** in scoring according to perceived quality and decided to fully score only according to personal raw enjoyment, it went up again to a 9/10 where it stands now. So, in the end, a full and sharp 6 point increase in time. What's you most drastic score change? Or they have all been relatively stable since you joined and started scoring? Edit: I've noticed many are replying cases of scores they've changed while watching a show, mostly currently airing shows, but the original idea of the thread was to refer to drastic score changes of shows you've already finished, something I forgot to explicitly state in the beginning. This was the original idea because drastically changing scores of shows while you are currently watching them is something pretty likely to happen, but not so much for completed ones, where your final judgment is already made and consequently drastic score changes are rare. |

| welcome to the nhk ; it used to be second-to-last tier in my first drafts of the notepad list, and now its one of my favs it took a while for me to fully appreciate more realistic anime |

| I can't remember what it started out as, but I've dropped Ousama Game many points after first finishing it. I think it was a 6 at first, now it's gone down to a 2. More recent ones that I can remember are bringing both the first season of Kaiji and No Game No Life from a 5 up to a 7. |

| Another, from 8 to 5, if I remember well. At first I liked it (it was my 12th anime), but after gaining more experience and watching more animes, I realized how boring Another was and how stupid all the deaths were. |
| Idk, I don't make huge changes of my scores usually. Maybe Code Geass which was my favorite anime when I joined MAL and a 10/10 but over the years dropped to a 7/10 because I expanded my horizon and got to watch a lot more stuff and realized that a lot of my initial score was just because of novelty, because it was one of the first anime I've seen. But unlike other anime I've seen around the same time, like Spice and Wolf or Juuni Kokuki which both ended up getting higher scores after I rewatched them, CG seemed less and less impressive in my memories and rewatch attempt or checking out the recap movies has not really changed my opinion on that. It's still something I'd enjoy if it aired today (which is why I don't see it falling below 7), but it wouldn't impress me anymore at all so it's far from being favorite material. |

| It woud be the anime Miyuki. It started out okej think i gave it a 6/10 at the start but at the anime went on. The character become more and more stupid so in the end i gave it a 2/10. I had a hard time handle the stupidity of the character at the end. It's one of the worst work I have seen when it comes to romance |

| I used to lower my scores by 1-2 after some time, now I don't. Mostly during my early days when I had less than 50 anime completed when it actually "mattered". Most recent would be raising KlK by 3 after rewatching it. |

| In my case it was citrus. After first episode I gave it a score of 7 and after I completed the series I reduced it to 4. |

| I don't remember many anime that I altered more than 2 points up- or downwards, but Fairy Tail (2009) started out like a 6 for me, then ended up to a 9 at around episode 50. |
| I change my scores from time to time,but the most was like increasing/dropping the score by 1-2. I already saw many of the best series very early and they still impress me,that's the reason I already have an accurate idea how the top looks like and why I rarely drop scores. Maybe I appreciate stuff like One Piece, Hajime no Ippo and FMAB even more than before now, since I know how much better they're compared to most other stuff. |

| I initially had Scum's Wish rated with 7/8. But as the story progresses and the whole forced "omae wa mou lesbian" drama thing, my score gradually decreased to a 2 For the other way around, Gekkan Shoujo started off as a 5/6 but gradually became a 10 |

| Relatively stable, I hardly ever change scores I guess. Looking at my list, the only ones I remember are the two seasons of Code Geass, which I bumped from 8 to 9, and the Madoka movie, that I also bumped from 8 to 9. I remember I changed Haibane Renmei from 9 to 10 but then I changed it back to 9... And I guess that's it. Which is kinda weird because I keep changing the scores of movies I watch all the time, I remember I gave Blade Runner a 2/5 (lol) and later deservedly changed it to 5/5, among other movies... one thing is certain though, I hardly ever lower the first score I give to something, 99% of the time if I change it it's to make it higher. |

| Went from giving all of Haikyuu a 9/10 to giving it all a 5/10. It isn't like I rewatched it and had my opinion changed or anything. Just didn't like it anymore. Rewatching my favorite scenes did nothing for me, didn't really give a shit about any of the characters anymore. |

| (hopefully i understand the topic) mines is initial d. initial d is great to me- good story, fast paced, not to mention showing off cars. at one point all i watched was initial d... until season 4. it got so repetitive, boring, and just downright bullshitty. the first 3 seasons and the specials were all 10/10's but season 4 was like a 2 or 3 for me iirc |

| Aho Girl had the most drastic rating change. It started as a 5 for me after 2 episodes but as i watched more of it, i realized i couldn't stand any of the characters and so gave it a 1. I just couldn't seem to appreciate anything the show had to offer once i hated all of the characters. |

| In the progress of the show or changing score after some reflection? I remember going to rate Akuma no Riddle about a 6-7 the first episode, it dropped to 4 nearing the end and last episode I decided to give it a 1. It was a special kind of "fuck you" they pulled in the last episode. As for changing score upon reflection, quite a lot was changed from 10 to 8, though admittedly I knew full well they were all temporary scores. It's nothing unusual, a solid ending can make me rate completely emotional and not keep things in perspective. I believe I did this for Nagi no Asukara |

| Erased for me,gave it an 8 after 4 episodes because i always love time travel concept,but after episode 8,everything just went meh,i wasnt able to feel it the same way anymore,it became so predictable,the plot twist didnt even surprise me a bit,after that the score went down to 6.Thought the show couldnt get worse,it gave me the worse ending ever made,a NTR ending(well techically not NTR but i hate it),then the score dropped to a 5. |
| By episode, Bleach had so much potential (9-10) but became a 6-7. Those fillers man As for a drastic score change by season, Tokyo Ghoul went from a solid 9 in S1 to a 2 in S2 IMO |
