THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
The rivalry between Souma and Akira reignites! Honestly, I feel that Akira is even more intense than before. Between the two, I like their character chemistry from this episode.

Oh Souma, he's been challenged this episode with his food planning.

Rindous presence this episode was intimidating. I want to see her cook soon! I like how Souma has been experimenting with some of the dishes he's preparing. Gotta take those risks.

Great episode again.

I've personally never had Bear meat, sounds pretty exotic. I'd like to try it someday.

So bear meat is smelly eh? It was really cool to watch Souma find out a way to thwart the problems he was having and eventually coming to the conclusion of using those berries. As always whenever the Secret Ingredient Called Victory starts playing, I get super hyped. :D

That Rindou bath scene post credit. <3

Looking forward to this battle.

Hmm so the newest member of the e10 was Akira what a shocker. But Bear meat as the theme now thats an unusual dish. Yukihira worries about the most random of things thats for sure. Akira's nose is far more powerful than any computer or bunch of experts thats for sure. Learning about an ingredient is always a good first step especially for ones you know nothing about. Kuga's intervention sure was timely. The tag team of Hisako and Erina is a potent combo for sure. Still its nice that Yukihira found inspiration from Hisako though. A slow paced episode that focused on the intro of Yukihira's opponent and his prep for the match. Looking forward to seeing Akira be humbled by Soma though.

This was a great episode. I already loved the buildup in the manga to the big showdown and the anime did a really good job in adapting it. Really hyped for the next few episodes.

Souma vs Akira focus episode was interesting. Akira's personality now is weird tbh. Meanwhile the topic of the challenge is rather interesting, bear meat!

This episode was the preparation for the challenge, and Souma having problems with the dish was a nice touch. Is harder than he thought. The reactions when eating is back with more clothing exploding, was missing this. Those dishes look gorgeous damn.

Akira's seems to have advantage over Souma. Is scary how can he be that good with the smell. That last part of the episode was intense.

I got a feeling Rindo challange will be something she wants to eat and Megumi and Aldini specialize in.
She shouldn't care about kicking them out from academy like central do
as obviously all she cares about is eating.

As a manga reader, I am predicting the Hayama vs Soma battle to be three episodes long which is a pretty good duration.

Remember how Rindo taste every single booth during the Autumn festival? And she doesn't gain any weight. I hate her, lol.

The next fight between Souma and Akira is close, both improved a lot since the Autumn Election, this is going to be hype.

Kuga and co joining in to help Souma was neat, adding some good comedy to the episode.

The post credits scene was literally just Rindou taking a bath lmao.

I was hoping for this to be a build up episode, I wouldn't have wanted to see them facing off too soon -it'd have been a killjoy, to say the least.
Now though, I'm pumped for the showdown next week; it's seems as though Hayama and Souma's rivalry has intensified... But what will souma make of Kuga's incentive -that's what I wanna know- 'cause I have faith in Souma winning (it's too early for him to fail).

Aghh. I take it back. I wanna see them now after that build up. The part of the op where he squares off with a bear makes sense now... Unless he's actually gonna grapple a bear 👀😐

I wonder what's going to happen to Aldini and Todoroki though; last seen with Rindo. Compared to Yukihira's portrayal, they seem like characters that can be picked off (even if they are amazing) -but vs. an elite ten is another story.
But having a protagonist overcoming adversities is typical, so let's see what happens next week

Idk where to find a place that serves bear meat, but I'd be interested in trying it. With his match against Hayama right around the corner, I'm glad we focused on Souma trying to overcome the smelliness of bear meat. It was nice to see Kuga helping him out (even if it was mainly for his own future goals lol).

This episode was awesome and scary. Akira has become even stronger now, and Yukihira has yet to beat him. Akira is going to be a tough opponent. I wonder if Yukihira is going to go through with making this a shokugeki or not. Also end credit bath scene was nice! ^^ Looking forward to next week!

I am glad they decided to built up preparation before the match, which is why shokugeki no soma is good series (usually 1 or 2 episode for preparation and then 1 episode for match). Pace of this episode back to normal. maybe because according to anime staff, 2 last episode content in the manga will be boring if it was adapted more than 2 episode. I am sure Soma will win, but i hope the reason why soma win that match is very good skill or ingredient

Finally a good episode without a hammy bad guy, well, except for that hammy villian pose Akira does.
Episode makes me wonder why Akira has joined Central, wonder if they threatened to fire his favourite teacher or something. Whatever the reason, I hope Souma beats his ass.

besides, nice build up from author, not too much cutting a lot of paneling from manga and .......Still panning shots Lol
anyways, Shokugeki no Soma is the kind of animanga series that always give you a lot of "LESSON", then I'd really appreciate all of "anime-only watchers" for their excitement about this series, I promise to not to tell the spoiler about the result, but I still wanna give you some words: Soma is never ........ to someone that patethic

I'm gonna give Hayama the benefit of the doubt and assume he's doing this for Jun. If not, his character transition makes no sense and is yet another addition to the lackluster writing of this season so far. Seriously, we know none of the important characters are going to get expelled and as a result all tension is lost leaving me bored watching the cooking scenes. Character bonding moments are really great though, it's especially nice to see Erina getting developed.

Wow! For the first time ever, the show actually showed a girl's bare ass (Rindou Kobayashi's). It actually felt like an ecchi and I was pleasantly surprised by it. Never thought I'd see this anime actually go a step further with the fanservice. And yeah, she had a nice ass. And I want to see more girls' asses in this in the future.

Food porn might be lovely and all, but nothing compares to seeing Rindo Kobayashi's beautiful post-credits scene with her nude in the bath. =3

Either way, this is mainly a build-up episode as Yukihira gains the assistance of Kuga to help him get to grips with cooking bear meat. Their interactions are always amusing. =)

Like with the manga counterpart at this point, Hayama is acting like a high 'n' mighty dick, boasting about beating Yukihira twice and wanting to get the hat-trick of victories over him. It does make me want to deck him in the face a little bit, you know? >_<

A very good episode overall and I'm looking forward to seeing the match, as well as the upcoming new characters next time around.

The drop in quality from the first season to the second and from that to the third is huge. Lack on animation combined with panning shoots to cover up. It feels like i am watching a worst version of the manga.

Souma is finally about to get his rematch against Hayama since defeat in the Autumn elections. The bear meat sure looks like a really tough ingredient to handle due to its lingering smell though I'm curious on what they really taste like. And Kuga's finally back! Nice to see him as new ally for Souma to try and help him beat Hayama.

Dat Rindou fanservice bath scene in the end. Nice!

Finally a rematch between Souma and Hayama, eventho this is the build-up towards it. Bear meat sure sounds interesting to try one day. I personally wonder what Hayama's motivation is to choose the side of Central. I am looking forward to this rematch.

We hopefully get to see Rindo cook soon as well

They're adapting Chapters pretty quickly. Usually like 4 Chapters per episode.
In the Manga the battle takes about 7 Chapters (8 if you count in some background story before the match) so my guess is that the battle will only last 2 episodes.

I'm in the same boat. This is NOT who his character is. His character is one who is forever on the path to mastering the use of spices. Central is very anti-experimental. We may not get an explanation now, but until then this all feels forced, uninteresting, and frustrating.
