This episode was scary tbh. Just hearing the noises of the victims from Inuyashiki's point of view is like apocalypse coming. Not to mention, airplanes are dropping like flies all over from the skies. (btw, I love the music for this episode. It made the scenes feel thrilling)

About time Inuyashiki fought Hiro face to face. I mean, seriously he's the only guy that can literally take him on in a direct fight.

Really too bad it had to come down to this but Hiro was beyond redemption at that point. Good actions scenes and episode. The scenes between Inuyashiki and Mari were really emotional. I'm looking forward to the finale!

Old man go for the "Brain" next time. Japan is still not safe!

Hiro thinks he's not the villian
Inuyashiki thinks he's not the Hero

Don't worry they will try to redeem the villian named Hiro last episode.

Freaking amazing episode. Full of action, saving lives, and 100% justice. The CG was a bit ugly, but the soundtrack and voice acting kept me on my toes!

Hiro was swinging his arms around, bringing down the airplanes, like some kind of composer. Inuyashiki was able to save some of them and had a fight against Hiro. They were pretty much on the same level. The CG was ugly, but the soundtrack made up for it. I'm glad Mari is okay. One more episode left. I'm looking forward to it.

God damn it, why the hell they had to skimp in the animation budget in the only episode that should've been properly animated. The animation of this episode was extremely poor: low-res textures, shitty models and badly done explosions and this is the only episode that has a fair fight instead of one sided massacre.
Hope they fix it for the Blu-ray release.

Oh man, a bunch of airplanes falling from the sky? Quite a scary sight.

Hiro and Inuyashiki finally face off, and it was pretty fun and entertaining to watch (the animation could have used some improvement tbh). Mari almost died, but her father saved her and many others just in time (eh, I kind of feel like Mari should have died, but that's just my personal feelings).

Things seem calm for now but as we saw at the end, Hiro isn't down and out just yet.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

Not a fan of the episode.

That CGI fight just didn't work for me, looked super rough and ugly.

And i would have really preferred in this case that Mari died there, that would have left an impact (subjective though here, it did come full circle with Mari realising and learning that she loves her father).

Will be interesting what they do in the final episode, there's an asteroid foreshadowed.

Have to say that it was one of the more nicer episodes from the series. Action, explosions and Mari. I hated Mari at first but after the past few episodes and this, I can finally see that Mari is loving after all :) The part where people were talking about a person going around saving others lives made me really happy. Felt like Inuyashiki was finally getting some sort of recognition, although still being anonymous.

Have to agree with Seiign on this one. When Hiro was chasing down Inuyashiki, I just couldn't help but notice low resolution buildings, roads and pillars. They decided to invest in CG ïnstead of the low texture environment. Pretty sure they put a lot of effort on Inuyashiki's facial expressions as well in the part where he was saving Mari.

Cant wait for the finale, I wonder if Hiro is going to turn and stop killing or if there will be a battle again between Hiro and Inuyashiki.

Well, that was one hell of a fight which, while not being perfect in the animation department, was still excellent and lived up to my expectations (and unlike the other fight this week everyone was fawning over, it was very easy to tell what was actually going on). Mari's death and revival was also excellently done and, while I can see how permanently killing her off could have led to some great character development, this is perhaps the better outcome with just one episode left, as it completes Mari's brief character arc by having her realise she actually loves her father after all. And then Inuyashiki saving countless people was great as well, and once again it's a fantastic contrast to Hiro's mass killings that have dominated the last couple of episodes.

Now, with Hiro still alive (albeit in pieces), an asteroid foreshadowed and many people now aware of exactly what Inuyashiki is, I wonder just how the finale is going to play out (my gut feeling is a self-sacrifice of sorts, but I guess we'll have to see how it goes).

Man, I think Hiro has officially become my most hated character of all time -_-

I thought Mari had actually died for a second there, glad she survived though. Tbh this episode had really bad lip syncing..

Those two girls at the end though, just giving juice to a random guy with no arms, legs or brain, you know, the USUAL.

The CGI fight definitely looked choppy but it got the job done,I imagine with normal animation it would have looked much worse unless it had a big budget which I don't imagine this show has.

Had forgot last episode ended with the planes falls so that was intense opening for the episode.

Inuyashiki vs Hiro was good,Inuyashiki saving Mari was emotional (though I would have thought she'd stay dead),Inuyashiki saving everyone else (true hero),that ending (goddamnit those dumb bitches).

One episode left, hope the ending isn't as bad as I heard.

Oh my god that music at the beginning, what were they thinking?
Also, did no one on the plane really think to put on a seatbelt?

The tatatatatatatatatatatatatatatata duel finally happened, it was just as hilarious as I anticipated.

They did the same thing to Mari as they did to that other random guy in the fourth episode. They die, his robot magic doesn't work, then they come back to life anyways.

Those people at the end that gave juice to Shishigami... they really want us to hate the characters in this show huh?

Well, this was definitely the weirdest fight of the year and I'm not talking about the CGI.

Hiro got finally owned, guess many people were satisfied with that.

And Inuyashiki found his reason to live, really some emotional moments we got there, especially the scene with Mari, god, I thought she was done for.
Overall it kinda felt like a little happy end,but Hiro still got some juice.

Also wonder what's going to happen with the meteor.

Think one episode is not nearly enough to wrap things properly up,too bad they had to scram everything into 11 episodes :S

They adapted 13 chapters (one and a half volumes) in this episode, which was what I predicted. Last episode will cover the last 15 chapters. CGI fight had its fluidity, but the low resolution and simplistic textures for the backgrounds is what killed it. I'm obviously not expecting hand-drawn animation from ANY studio since that's just too damn hard to do, even if you have the staff size for a movie production. But the CGI looked worse than the early episodes at times, which was disappointing. There were some good looking moments though. And the music always helps.

The actual content of the episode was fun. The fight choreography is cool, though that's really because the source material did a good job in creating that. Inuyashiki using "bang" was actually pretty hype. Some planes might've crashed, but Inuyashiki save thousands of lives in a single day. Him saying that he was born for this moment was touching.

this episode was so good and intense i was on the edge of my seat ready to run around the neighborhood shouting for no reason. the airplanes part was so scary and intense and the fight looked really cool with a lot of suspense due to what was happening to Mari. the last few minutes were really emotional. guess next episode will either make this disappointment of the year or anime of the year (at least for me)

Me too, lol. Even though the textures were obviously crappy, I think the whole segment with running away was very well done.
When they both went on autopilot it was hype as fuck. I almost though Mari will die because of that, but she was saved and I'm glad his powers didn't suddenly break.

Now, the next episode.... kinda hard to finish this, just when it started to get good.

So in the end they didn't have the ball to kill his daughter and the baby? Well, but I'm actually glad that Mari survived (it was intense scene) as Inuyashki doesn't need any further motivation to kill Hiro. She probably wasn't dead completly just in near-death state.

Couple of wtf things in this episode though:
- they still try to portray Hiro in good light after all this? like really? are they even thinking? there is literally nothing that would make him look human right now!
- why didn't Inuyshiki head straigth to Mari in the first place. he shouldn't care about him much and head straigth where his daughter was in danger (it was still sun when she call him ffs!)
- Shion is pretty much the dumbest character in this show... skies are falling, half of the city is destroyed, she knows it's his doing yet she cries for him?? o_O I know people are selfish but this selfishment has some limits...
- were those two girls in the end stupid or something? They see thing like that and after all tat happened that evening they are not even scared and didn't run and offer him juice instead o_O

So, he's basically a Superman now. The problem is, every TV got him recorded now. But I kinda doubt this series would deal with something so trivial.

It's meteorite then. The last episode the next time. My guess is that they both die saving the planet, although it would be very cringeworthy if they does it in a way for Hiro to have his redeeming moment too. He should burn in hell.

Nah that alone can't explain the idiocy. First of all they are looking a machine that is just randomly saying "water" in distress. If it was a human, I'd understand, but it's a MACHINE. I wouldn't assume it actually really does need water. A sane person would mostly likely think it is broken and is just repeating something it was programmed to say. The fact this chick is dumb enough to go up to it and be like "is juicy ok?" as if it's a human being is bloody ridiculous.

Maybe if they were dumb kids messing around. But they look like grown adults--not drunk either because she had a can of JUICE. Still, what's most ridiculous about it all, is the fact it's basically the apocalypse and these two chicks are just calmly walking in an alleyway as if they shouldn't be holing up inside in terror.

Wow, I can't believe that was 22-ish minutes, it was all so intense and emotional that it felt more like 5. For a few episodes there, Land of the Lustrous was giving this show a run for it's money, but unless Inuyashiki's last episode is an absolute dumpster fire or LotL really pulls out something crazy, I think the #1 spot for the season is secure, and definitely among the best of the year.

I see why some people think Mari should have stayed dead here, but I have to disagree. Inuyashiki needed her to live, her death would only have really been useful to the narrative if it could drive Inuyashiki either to improve so he'd never have to experience such pain again, or into a low point that he'd have to overcome (i.e. lose the will to save people for awhile, or go berserk on Hiro), but there's no time left for any of that at this point, especially after the big fight with Hiro has passed. If Hiro were completely out of the picture and there weren't another episode and a giant meteor to deal with still, then they might be able to get away with leaving Mari dead here and implying that her death continues to drive him to be stronger and save more people, and there's just no more interesting story to tell because the main source of conflict (Hiro) would be gone. But I don't think that would be as satisfying as what I suspect is going to happen...

See, in this episode, Hiro has that moment of realization that he is the villain, and he hates that feeling and flies into a rage because killing is the only way he knows to deal with such powerful emotions. But now he got stomped, and has time to cool his head and think. Meanwhile, we also have a potential extinction-level event in the form of a gigantic meteor that's been foreshadowed and still has to be dealt with. So I believe that Hiro is going to sacrifice himself to stop the meteor, in one of two possible mindsets: a) "I want Shion and her grandma to live. I don't care about anyone else, but if this overgrown rock kills everyone, that includes them, and I won't allow that." or b) "I've realized that I was the villain this whole time. I don't know if it will make up for everything I've done, but I don't want to be the villain ever again, so I'm going to put everything I have into one final, heroic act." If I'm right, then killing off Mari in this episode would be pointless, and it's better to let her live so that Inuyashiki has something to ground him after it's all over, a reason to continue keeping his own heroism on the down-low, providing an excuse for why there shouldn't be any more unresolved conflicts that would warrant more story (for example: if he were to make a spectacle of his existence, the U.S. military would definitely throw a tantrum about how "he's a dangerous weapon and he has to be destroyed before he turns on us!").

Those are my thoughts anyways. Regardless, next Thursday is going to be a good day: We get this show's (presumably) epic conclusion, and those of us entranced by the stupidity of King's Game will finally be free from the torment of having to watch it just to see where the flaming wreckage lands.

i understand the complaint, for me the fast pace of the fights made up for the low resoltution cause i thought it was really exciting how the whole fight was constantly moving and never really paused, it was just one attack after another with alot of shit getting flung around at the same time.

I think the episode itself was pretty much a satisfying climax for me, its definetly gonna be rushed with only 1 episodes left but i think this episode sort of made the series for me not cause it was necessarrily that amazing, but i think it tied everything it was building up to together in regards to our hero and villain, I love the idea that this is a story about 2 people who lost their humanity and need to use their powers to try and feel alive, its just 1 does something selfless while the other only looks out for himself, and having these 2 characters finally have to face eachother after the whole series just felt like a book end to me even with the plot clearly still there.

I do think this series is wasted potential in many ways, alot of stuff could of either been better handled or have more things be explored with a longer length, but i got more than i expected from the show so i think thats why even if the next episode is the worst anticlimax in the world ill probably give it a 7 at least.

not sure what you mean, the show has not once tried to portray hiro as anything else other than a sociopath, the tragedy of his character is not that hes actually a good guy its that in his mind he doesnt understand whats going on cause he himself has always lacked empathy and felt inhuman. Sociopaths tend to have some people they do genuinly care for but they do it for reasons that benefit them, they have done this with hiro pretty consistently as hes just desperate to feel human which only his mother and his gf do. The only time hiro ever stopped killing was solely cause his GF wanted it, and in his mind he just wanted her cause as an object almost she gives him what he wants as a mother replacement..
