| after a kind of weak spot of looking for random therions in berseria, the plot of this game picked up massively and got super interesting again. Man i wish zestiria was as good as this game is. I just hope the next game is more consistent visually, there are parts of this game that look really good and the cell shaded art style really blends well the the surroundings thanks to a vivid colour pallete, but then in other areas is the grungiest pallete low resolution textures that just look like dogshit contrasting with the really polished character models. the next tales game is going to be the first one developed for "next generation" consoles as apposed to the ps3 berseria was made for so hopefully there is an improvement. Also i hope for more open areas with the ability to jump and such like xenoblade. |

He did apparently give enough time to let Russia bail their people out too, which shows that he isn't just acting without thinking imo. The way people are reacting you'd have thought Trump tried to make a declaration of war or something. I thought the response was wholly appropriate. I'm honestly kind of disgusted by the people speaking against it because Assad didn't attack us. Chemicals weapons like that shouldn't be tolerated anywhere, on any people. |

In an environment where the vast, vast majority of the community views such perspectives with disdain and the criticism has no chance to be seen by and affect those within the creative parts of the industry, is there really any value in the role? Especially in comparison with the amount of effort required to gain that role in the first place? I doubt you intend to imply anybody can become a popular anime youtuber or figuratively stroll into ANN and be accepted a regular writer. Further, for those outside those positions, what meaning is there in the furtherance of knowledge if it cannot even be readily passed along, other than self-gain? That is, unless your article was aimed solely at those already in those positions, which wasn't apparent if it was the case. Barring some sudden change in the stereotypical Western view on animation, I believe what you speak of would need to take root on the Japanese side before it could truly be successful here. If the Western anime fandom saw that Japan took the artform seriously, then more in the Western fandom may he willing to reciprocate. As is I am not aware of any attempts at professional criticism on the Japanese side even amongst those outside the industry, though I admit this could be due to varous issues of which the most important is the language barrier. Supposing that I am not simply ignorant, however, the issue then becomes how Japan views its own artform-- which is to say it is to this day still largely looked down upon as a medium for the degenerate. If animation as an artform is stripped of its legitimacy by the all of the cultures that create it, what hope does it have of being viewed in a meaningful light? Thus I think your view is too narrow. Before we can criticize the critic or his absence, we must first criticize the cultures that prevent the medium he would work with from being viewed as capable of carrying deep meaning in the first place. Worded differently, does the critic give their medium its legitimacy by convincing the people, or do the people allow the medium its legitimacy and, by proxy, the role of the critic? Both sides are necessary for what you claim anime lacks. |

A fun adventure anime with a likable cast. Each episode is mostly overcoming a certain problem while introducing new characters, but it does it in a nice simple way since it's a kid show, but that's a part of the charm right there. All that while having some sort of overarching plot that you get fragments of in each episode by the new characters that are introduced, and mostly by two characters that appear in the first episode. They're usually the after-credit scenes but not always, which gives an intriguing feel to the whole show that hooks you in even more. It also gave me some Jinrui vibes, which is quite the plus for me. But all that if you can get past the CGI, cuz unlike a number of anime series where they blow their budget on the first eisode to make it look good, the starting scene was quite a terrible CGI chase scene. Luckily, it was the one scene with such terrible CGI camera movement so far. |
