| Hero Aca Vigilante spinoff is finished now. It's better than what the main series has become so give it a read if that interests you. It manages to have better character growth, a better main villain, better side character focus, and even a better musical performance. Just overall handles everything a lot better. Iruma-kun also does it even better. Please read. And while I'm dunking on Hero Aca, might as well take the opportunity to post this again.  |

| Popping in. I really missed watching anime. Glad to be able to watch again now that all the school's done. So I'm catching up with Spring 2022. Aside from maybe Spy x Family or Kaguya, I didn't really hear folks talking about Spring 2022 like at all. Yet, I'm finding everything I picked up to be quite cozy. Nice enough. While not being able to watch much anime I was thinking, "What if I lived life without anime?" And I guess to cope I was trying to convince myself that I didn't actually like anime or something to justify not being able to watch. However, these days of catch up and finally being able to watch anime again have definitely served as a reminder that I really, really enjoy watching anime. Like holy moly. |

| So I finished my reread of JoJo Part 1-8. This time I went fully black and white as God intended. While the older scans do show their age a bit and could do with a modern day redo, and a bit of a translation touch up, I gotta say overall the scan quality was pretty decent all things considered. Guess there's the Viz release to consider for that, if you can stomach name changes, and some artwork getting covered more than was intended. I really have no clue how some people apparently can't follow the action in b&w. Though I still can't blame someone for going coloured for a more consistent scan quality, if nothing else. Also the story and concepts tend to be really simple to understand, so I don't know how in the fuck this series got a rep for being super confusing. Remember kids, don't speed read. On a more broad note, ever since I started learning Japanese I've become hyper aware of just how much sfx a lot of scans don't bother translating. With this JoJo reread, Part 8 was the only one that had every sfx translated. In fact it might have been the only one that had any sfx translated, and if you know JoJo, you know how ubiquitous sfx is to the series. Maybe by the time Part 9 is finished I'll be ready to reread them all raw. |
