Same.

And boy do they drag these fight scenes. It's been about 4 or 5 episodes just on that slope.

Am I the only one who thinks Usopp is annoying as hell? If he wants to protect her he should just shut up and wálk instead of being all talk -_- They drag the scenes a bit too much and those kids are just useless (and waste of screentime) but well I like Kuro so it wasn't that bad... and Luffy is great of course ^^

Wow, Usopp sure can take a lot of abuse. I have quite a lot of respect for him, he's definitely one of my favorite characters.

This is one of those times where if the villain had any sense, everyone would be dead by now.

I know I shouldn't apply that logic to anime, but it's so obvious right now that it's making this hard to believe and hard to watch.

I think that that talking too much is what makes Usopp special.
That's the only way he is able to do sth and he knows that.^^
And he succeeded, respect! And those long battling scenes are
exactly what makes this anime legendary. Love them!! (。♥‿♥。)

This arc may have more episodes than the Buggy arc, but I feel like it's less dragged out than that was.
Maybe it's just because they took more care in setting up the story and the characters this time around, but I've been enjoying it more than the previous arc.

The flashback scene this episode was pretty interesting.

I also liked the fight between Zoro and the beefed-up Buchi.
Especially when Zoro catches all three of his swords in his sheaths.
I mean, cmon', how badass was that?
The sound design during that part was really nice, too... the muted ambiance with prominent slashing sounds, really cool stuff.

Episode 15 :3

Those kids are just... lol x3
Usopp is just manly, proud and awesome when the situation requires it :3
Zoro cuts Buchi and end this meaningless scrapple :3
Captain Kuro's past :3
Luffy vs Captain Kuro... To be continued (just typical x3) :3

It's a bit hard to bear all the shounen cliches and on-off fight sequences. Characters just stand still while their comrades are attacked. I haven't noticed this problem as much in the manga.

Well if characters stepped in all the time then their would have less meaningful moments I think :3
But yea it is a Shounen cliche :3

I swear, this anime makes me tear up at least once an episode. This one was twice. Usopp is such a great character. When he called out to the Usopp pirates to protect Kaya, and then shot Jango in the head to distract him was the first time. He is such a beautiful man, what will power. "We became pirates to protect what was important to us!". Usopp is the most respectable character in One Piece. Next, was when all the pirates laughed at Usopp's resolve, and Luffy threw the boulder at them, adamantly asking "What's so funny?!".

If the episode where Usopp pulled up his bandage, wiped away his tears, and put on a smile to lie to his henchmen was the scene that let me understand Usopp, this episode made Nami and Luffy click. Nami is a deplorable, self interested human being until push comes to shove, so in a tense situation like this one she is very likable, for it's in her nature to be good. However, when the situation is alleviated she is absolutely deplorable, willing to ruin others second hand for her own purposes.
Luffy on the other hand doesn't hate mean people, or unfairness. What he hates is when people step on others dreams. And vice versa, the reason him, and Zoro in the same sense like Usopp is his resolve in standing for his dreams. The dreams of protecting the people he cares about. So whether it's the beast tamer trampling the dogs shop which it is his dream to protect, or to stop Buggy from cheating in a battle to establish Zoro's place as #1, or in this case to stop pirates from laughing at admirable resolve. It is when this happens that Luffy decides to do what Shanks taught him, or at least I think it is, as in to choose his battles wisely. It is only when his, or another's dream is on the line that it is time to stand up and duke it out.

Some of you are saying this has been dragged out, but I don't feel that way. The fights have hardly been going on, it's not like some of the final fights of certain arcs in Yuyu Haksuho. Instead of seeing a fight go on, we see a lot more, all of which resolves around the characters on screen. I would agree with y'all if there was a fight going on for 5 episodes, but it seems as though this was to establish character and story and lead up to the Kuro fight. And with that being said, maybe this wasn't the best confrontation I've seen in battle shounen, but it's definitely the most epic, with Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, Cat dudes, Jango, Kuro, Usopp pirates, Kuro pirates, and Kaya all at play.

Usopp is amazing when he shoots Jango with his slingshot before he hits Kaya and the Usopp pirates, he was brave. But I liked more the moment Luffy shouts "what's so funny" because kuro's pirates where laughing at Usopp, Luffy was not angry because they laughed at Usopp, he was angry because Usopp was trying to protect his village and these idiots started laughing. I would have been angry too if I was in that situation.

I'm surprised that for such a famous and fearsome pirate, Kuro didn't have some sort of treasure accumulated so that he could retire peacefully like he wanted in the first place.

I thought Luffy was gonna have a hard time against Kuro, but then that last hit happened xD

Usopp basically told them to run away in a more elegant way but it did sound inspiring so there was no doubt that it would've worked.

Kuro began to babble on about his underlying master plan to discard his name and fake his death by having an unfortunate bespectacled crew-mate as the one who takes the blame. Such travesty deserved a rock to the face and he got just that xD

Dude, this episode was very boring. Too much talking, long flashback (would've been cool if we didn't have to wait forever beforehand with Usopp, etc. etc.), super dragged out fight scene. However, when the fighting clips did happen, thought they were pretty cool. May get to see something more engaging in the next episode!

Man they are dragging this one out, lol. Not that I'm complaining, it is still entertaining for sure.

Usopp nearly had me tearing up, could care less for Kuro's back story at this point though.

The fact that Captain Morgan achieved the rank of Captain due to a fluke by getting defeated and hypnotized to believe that he took down Captain Kuro makes his narcissism all the more ironic in the earlier arc. He thinks he deserves his position because he took down a big bad pirate captain, but in reality he got whooped lmao

I have to hand it to Usopp. I really like him, he's got spirit. Looks like Luffy has a fight cut out for him, dang.
Using a double to wipe his name was a pretty smart plan of Kuro though.

Unpopular option but I think Kuro is kind of lame and stupid. He literally just talks and talks and doesn't do crap. Yeah the flash back was cool. Despite most of the fighting happening off screen. I know this aired in 1999 before anime got massive budgets. But they could have done more wit Kuro.

He's simply strong because he trained 10 years to become a pirate xD

Btw, did you catch on the fact that the guy who captured the fake Kuro was Captain Morgan? He got his jaw broken by Kuro.
