| I understand Nakumi's feelings. He basically had no purpose in life before this whole fiasco. He now feels contented because there are people around him relying on him and asking him for help. Alice calling him assistant at the end made him much more confident about himself. He feels that he truly has a purpose in life now. I liked the mystery bit in this first episode so i'll be watching on (no harm anyway since i torrented all the episodes in one batch xD). Hope that the mysteries get more and more exciting in later episodes. Sort of guessed that the girl they were looking for was already dead the moment it revealed her boyfriend buying a shitload of ice. The variety of characters were also nice, a mafia boss specializing in sewing is just epic. Alice is cute, but i like Ayaka better because she has a outgoing and bubbly personality xD Wow that was a pretty long post, time to stop here. *Proceeds to find and download OP single* |

I LAHV TIS ANIMEH. =X For first episode , I set my score to 10/10 overall , because its managed to captivate my attention and drag me too into the show. Looking forward for the next episode! Those who still wondering whether the first episode is a good or a bad , if you are a deep thinker , you might like it , but if you are a lazy using brain otaku that only expecting action fighting scene over scene , get lost. Haha! kidding , but yeah , good show =] |

| off to a great start :D very freaking surprised the first episode is 47 minutes O____O i wish all anime do that!!! i also didn't knew about Mel Kishida doing the character design here!! i didn't like the Narumi, it's your typical weak MC. if that guy think's you lack of presence, you make sure you make your own presence by making an impact on his head. so that's why Alice looks like an Atelier character XD it's also funny how i just finished Ano Hana last week XD Menma has the same voice actor as Alice, and both are opposite!! then again Alice acts all happy so there's similarity ^^ awesome stuff! it seems Alive knows everything :D lol Alice didn't take any bath for 2 days XD much high quality picture!!! ![]() ![]() can't wait for the next episode! | I was looking for an interesting mystery show and I believe i found it. Based on this first episode the series looks pretty good, although it has a lot of the same aspects from other shows. Either way watching this series should be interesting. |

| So long for a first ep! Wow, didn't expect that. Not bad. Not bad at all. 4/5 Mystery aspect isn't the best, but not a lot of anime are Detective Conan level anyways. This is the modern Gosick yay. | Half of the time I was interested and the other half I wanted to fall asleep, but that was when I realized that the episode should be over already. Didn't realize it was almost an hour long episode until the second commercial break sign came up. mrSmiles said: i watched only 5 minutes skipping most of the episode, cant say i find this very interesting... why cant they have some older more mature characters in these sort of anime? why must it always be high school kids for every single anime? why cant they seem to do anything different? where is the originality?!?! Hm yeah gotta agree with this a little. I don't really mind high schoolers/people in their 20s as main characters, but I have a personal bias against lolis...actually I'm okay with some like Victorique, but ugh, I don't like Ogura Yui's voice either so maybe that's why Alice doesn't appeal to me. Though I knew all this before watching the first episode, I guess I was still curious about this show. It definitely doesn't seem very original in terms of the characters and how it's one of those a absolutely normal guy meets a crazy/weird bunch. But still, I like how they talked about prostitution, and the reason why Shouko did it. It reminds me of a book that I've read where the perfect girl who everyone loves commits suicide because I guess the perfect girl image was too much for her. It's sad that the friend didn't realize that putting Shouko on a pedestal was only hurting her. |

| Omg i found a new thing that gives me a cringe out of the few. Teenage Prostitution. I really hope that the girl searching for her friend did not lose her virginity like that as a result. Really hope soo.. that would be fkd up, she loses a morally sacred part of herself when the guy knew. Wait i dnt get it, it was in her will, that the guy tricks her into being a hopefully psuedo-prostitute?? I'm guessin its either that or he just senseless or just lonely....god fk teenage prostitution. Find the sickos that look for it AND LIGHT THEY'RE F****** SPOT UP. Yeha i was pretty fazed by the fact they're teens trying to do, dangerous things like privately looking into prostitution rings, and acting on the're own accord even though other shows have younger doing much more dangerous. Yet it does be realistic and dark with it's themes ( I Like) but it's beset for me by the fact they're just teens. Although I'm sure I'm wrong and she was a one ep char they need to UP Miku's role and give more story depth maybe like a Recovery path from all the trouble shes been through and would need to put behind. Also I am super SURE she is not a virgin. I believe she went all-in def after seeing her shower in a hotel**,(also our man at the front keeping gurard and watch also seemed to subdue one of her clients. SNIFFLE FKN SNIFFLE I do not like how that turned out. Oh GOD SHOUKO IS ROLLING IN HER GRAVE after the box she sent meant to GIVE CLOSURE TO MIKU is now being used as new CAREER PATH for the ever-so bright Miku Kimura. Tis how it is, case closed. NOT----If u can prove me wrong. T T hela tight, shit's sacred, that is DEF not how you should be parting with such a imo an important aspect of your self. Last word I would have been more at ease and better abled to sleep before school starts tomorow, IF SHE ENDED UP SLEEPIN WITH THE MAIN CHAR, THAT IS F******CKED UP, SUCH AN INNOCENT IN SEARCH OF ANSWERS----------not even gonna write much anymore. just ugh how thing can turn out in such a way. THAT NOW I CONCLUDE IS THE MOST REALISTIC PART OF THE SHOW. Who'd know even she, that maybe in a month or so, she'd being opening up her cooch to random pedo-men. Nah mean, re- watch it and think how it couldve turned out that way, what could've been done. Final Final words-----How Horrible, yet subtle people got a funny fan service and the ep ended in such bliss ,they forgot, NOT FOR THAT FKN GIRL |

| I don't think i ever saw such a detailed and realistic portrait of computers and their use anywhere. It was clearly supposed to be a Mac desktop. Not sure which computer it was, probably Alice, but one looked like it had Firefox and Thunderbird installed. They also nailed the office splash screen, minimize, maximize and close buttons. Heck, they actually put logos on the bluray drive and animated the lid closing. Even live-action movies usually fail to show realistic usage, or avoid any resemblance with actual computers to get away with it (but still show them as being USB compatible etc., even when it's attached to a nuclear warhead or alien mothership). Downside: The girls accusing Narumi of being a pervert, lolicon etc., after Ayaka barged in, interrupted Narumi talking to Alice, and started to undress her. How was it his fault? And i don't think i ever saw an apology for this behaviour. There are only two (with a few exceptions) ways a situation like this can end: The MC is called pervert and gets hurt in the process of getting out or the girl in question doesn't care at all somehow. Sometimes the girl actually wants the MC to see her, every now and then (i remember only one situation) where the girl does not totally ignore the fact that she's (half) naked, but accepts that not only is it her fault, but it's also a dire situation that shifts priorities a bit towards surviving.. I don't think i ever saw a situation where the girl is embarassed, but acknowlegdes that it's not the guys fault if she's running into the men's bath, or her best (female) friend(s) switch the signs. Even if they actually talk about that afterwards the girl never apologizes. Sometimes she even knows about it, and yet.. Anyways, it's only a small downside to an otherwise quite nice show. I don't think the MC will be that weak, he contributed significantly on his first day.. |

| I really don't understand this anime thing where if some girl loses her shirt/pants/whatever and some guy is unfortunate enough to be a bystander, for whatever reason he ends up getting labeled as a pervert and suddenly every nearby woman becomes aggressive and attacks him. That girl literally just busted in while they were having a conversation, started to strip Alice on the spot, and somehow he ends up getting kicked out of the room and being called a pervert. It makes absolutely no sense. Other than that, this was a terrific first episode, and I'm sure I'm going to enjoy this. I'm really looking forward to what the rest of the series has to offer. |

| I started watching this on a whim just now. I really love Tiv's artwork, and was kind of browsing around all of the works he's done art for. Noticed this (the manga though) and saw it was adapted into an anime and figured I'd watch it. Holy fucking shit I was not expecting that to be so damn dark. The Shouko girl was under such scrutiny that she started whoring herself out. Was whoring herself out before she was fucking the Satomi guy. Was almost certainly still doing it while "dating" him. Was doing it without Miku knowing about it. Cant take life of guilt and whoring out so she kills herself in Satomi's apartment. Then the dude is so broken he keeps her on ice. Meanwhile the Miku girl is so obsessed with finding Shouko that SHE starts whoring herself out too. FFS she literally just got done fucking a dude when Alice walked in and told her the truth. Jesus Christ I thought this show was going to be more moe...not just a moe drawn version of psycho pass. The fuck'd I get myself into? |

| Dang it! I didn't realized that until someone mentioned in the comments that the ep was 47 mins .-. I thought it was boring that it seemed so long to complete lol. No wonder it was so long. Prostitution theme eh... no matter where I get to see that in anime, I'm really not comfortable with that at all. Felt bad for Shouko :( But what about Miku...? After that failed attempt, she did it with one of the Shouko's customer in the end right? |

Note: Why in the world would alice's group allow her to participate in enjo kosai and have her lose virginity and then reveal her about the truth and its not like they didnot have support to go against the customer if anything bad had happened. |

| I have first noticed this anime almost four years ago, when I first came here, but always postponed seeing it to another time, but I had a completly different idea from what in reality it is. Like if you judge for the LN cover, and dont read sypnosis or see the genre, it kinda feels like a sad story about abandonment and isolation. But it was much more cheerfull than what I was expecting. Having yet to see Gosick, this is the first time I see an anime with mystery/detective kinda stuff. So for, pretty good impressions, Alice is definitly the Star of the series for now. Also was not expecting these 48 minutes for the first episode, but it was a great introduction to series. Lets see where this will go to. |

| Damn, a lot of things happened. To be expected from a 48 minutes long episode. Seems like this is an episode mystery anime? But it has the NEET thing which I like a lot. Yuuko looks like a funny and interesting character, same with those 3 boys. The case also seemed somewhat sad, but I kinda figured that she died when Yuuko told her the fact that Satoshi kept buying ice every day. |

| Some thoughts I have on the first episode- I really liked it first time watching and immediately went on to the next episode. I went back to ep 1. to show my sister and after seeing it a second time some stuff came to mind I thought could be worth sharing in the forum. THERE ARE HUGE SPOILERS IN THIS REPLY!!!! this is my first comment so IDK how to hide spoilers lol so BE WARNED!!! I like how unique all the characters in the gang are, they all have their own personality and jobs to do for the team. Hinamori and his men are cute with the tough demeanor but soft spot, and the men watching Narumi on the computer was so cute lol A lot of other replies said that they thought that Narumi was spineless and a pushover- and in the first episode he really does just not say no to anything lol, but I think that leaves room for character development though. It gives space in the show to have him stand up for himself in situations he really doesn't want to be a part of. Hopefully that's something we see more of in later episodes? Plus he's got literally nothing going on in his life so I can understand going along for the ride just because lol About the boyfriend- it takes an extremely emotionally unstable enough person to do what he did. Of course he's arrested for it because it was not only illegal, but he seriously but Miku in danger by keeping that information from her. Seriously, you have to be one messed up individual to not only hide the body, but play along with her best friend and lead her to selling her body for ultimately no reason. It's upsetting that, because he hid her suicide from people, Miku ends up using what should've been closure, as a step by step guide to prostituting, but it contributes to the darkness of the show. About Alice- I saw in other replies that the loli-detective is overplayed, but this is my first time seeing an anime with the trope, so I can't complain. I think it's cute that they have a young very smart girl who still is developing her emotional intelligence (cries at the drop of a hat, stuffed animals, taking starving children personally, etc. etc.) but is still extremely capable with deduction and intellectual intelligence. A huge fault in this trope for this kind of show, though, is that, especially in the Shouko case, a large chunk of information had to be left out. Because Alice's character is a young girl, they didnt include much of the emotional aspect of the case at all, which is pretty important, and made it difficult to deduct some information. I think it's important to explain why Shouko left the box of her stuff for Miku, at first I was really confused, there was no explanation and it almost felt like some weird out of touch intentional mystery by Shouko as to "what happened to her," when in reality it was her attempt at closure-that she was sharing this "other half" with her. I really like the NEET theme, and how it doesn't cast the same shadow on NEETS that some other shows have. I know it's just fiction but it's cool seeing how these people are still so unique and have their own passions even if they arent contributing "normally" to society. ----------------------------------------------------------------- Now for some questions I have lol There were some things I was left REALLY confused about after watching the episode a second time. My first confusion was, Shouko and Miku look WAY too alike. omg. The flashback scene to the boyfriend and shouko(miku?) in the hotel, I wasnt sure if it was Shouko and her bf for their first time, or Miku's first interaction with him, having already started prostituting. Trying to figure out who it was, it made most sense in my head for the scene to be him first meeting Miku through her selling herself (after Shouko dies, hiring a prostitute in some sort of stress relief or something??) They show him knocking her bag over and seeing the ID , which looks like Shoukos (again confusing but i think it's hers). Is he realizing they have a connection? Or is this before Shouko dies, It's Shouko in the shower, and he's just looking at her ID for some reason?? Second is the way they setup the mystery of Shouko's disappearance. When the characters are first introduced to us in the hotel district, it appears they're after the boyfriend. Why not Miku? Did Miku ask Alice for help or were they just getting themselves involved?? If she did ask, why don't they communicate at all for the rest of the episode? It seems like Miku wasn't expecting him to be at the hotel that first day, as she's surprised when he shows up, and he takes pictures of the old guy. This would make the team showing up make sense, Miku asks them for help, or there aware of the situation, and are tracking down someone who might be involved. But then it appears to just be a set up between the two of them in order to get information from the old guy. If it was the case, then what was the reason the team shows up? and why was the boyfriend even doing it if he already knew where Shoko was?? The third and most confusing part to me, is how the mystery wraps up. There is a scene where a couple of cops/detectives are inspecting a wrapped body.. The hair honestly looks more like the boyfriend than Shouko's, so it almost seems as though he commits suicide at the end as well. But then we see him being arrested. So its Shouko's body? On top of that, they discuss post-mortem bruising. Wtf is that about? Nothing else is mentioned about it. It just left me sooo confused. Miku is seen in what I assume to be a psych ward, unless her room is depressingly decorated with barred windows. That one shot is just super quick and frustratingly unexplained. I also was very confused about why Shouko would leave the box with her phone, but what I said above is my best guess. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ TL;DR I'm interested in how this show goes, I like some of the character tropes, and that theres a bit of darkness and social commentary, even if at times its cringe. There was a lot of unanswered questions left up to personal interpretation i suppose, but the case was interesting an still moderately captivating. The character designs where a bit confusing, but the NEET theme is really interesting, and the show has a lot of potential. Not sure if I'll finish the show now, or pick it up again later. thanks for reading if you did, and LMK what you think!!!!! |

| I'm not usually into dark and tragic shit.. especially about this kind of subject matter. (t_t) But.. Pretty good first (long) ep.. A bit too depressing and tragic. Too bad Shouko couldn't see in the end that she had the only things that truly mattered by her side. Instead chose to recklessly do what ever she felt at the moment... I know it sounds harsh but the way I see it is that her actions not only nearly hurt her best friend Miku (Giving her the phone with all the clients info and calling/texting her phone likely still... what was she thinking?! Plus, I mean even if Miku was never willing/planning on going through with anything for the cause, she was putting herself in a SUPER dangerous place.. I mean the type of men that could hire a girl aren't all going to be the types that take a last minute "NO" for an answer) and she effectively ruined her boyfriend's life, at least for the time being. That kind of thing, failing to protect/save the person you love most, is just about the worst thing you could imagine. Especially for a guy, let alone one in a more conservative society. It's particularly tragic in this case because it seems that he met her when he hired her in the first place. So any second guessing about his feelings or whether he was after her because of her status or "purity" etc.. are out the window. His feelings were true... making her fears about being "damaged goods" even more ironic and tragic. :'( Thankfully Miku learned the truth before doing or getting something done to herself that she'll regret. Before anyone wonders about the last case/call she took. It's clear she was taking a shower BEFORE meeting anyone, also notice the guy laying on the ground when Alice's friend looks in to make sure everything is OK.. Looks like they got there first and knocked the guy out when he showed up. There would be no reason to not let him just leave, or meet her there in the first place, if she went through with it. So at least that part of the story ended happily. My only complaint is the ending for the boyfriend and maybe Miku.. After a story about adult men fucking/trying to fuck underage teen girls, why is the boyfriend the only one arrested? (for hiding/holding the body and not reporting her death) Also, what's up with that room Miku wakes up in? Bars on the windows! And it's not like there isn't reason to suspect since Alice talked more than once about the crimes/misdeeds they are doing and even worse ones Mika was getting close to doing... I mean was she really punished too? I mean if it was just by her horrified but understanding parents that would be one thing.. but those barred windows don't give me a good feeling. Either way though.. She seemed happy and WE know that her whole reason for doing it is gone now so.. Also the boyfriend doesn't seem to be in too much trouble, the police know he had nothing to do with her death and can see he's messed up himself because of it. lol at the last scene.. They literally forget he's even in the room and don't even give him a second to react. A perfect cute/funny scene to end and otherwise dark and tragic story out. toneytigre said: Correct me if I'm wrong... So Shouko committed suicide because of pressures living up to everyone's expectations. She started hurting herself at first by doing prostitution, however I'm confused about how her BF Satoshi plays a role in this. She says "I've been defiled. I defiled myself for him.". It seems Satoshi genuinely loves her, trying to preserve her body with ice and all. I don't know. Any thoughts? That scene where her ID falls out of her bag is the scene/encounter where he first met her I think.. So she wasn't likely doing this for or because of him. Yeah, he certainly did seem to love her... and sadly now got caught up in her self destruction.. well his emotions/feelings did anyway. Likely out of a sense of loss and not being able to help, protect and save her. Obinderu said: That girl is the friend of Shouko who uses her name as an alias. She has not done prositution if I'm right, because I thought Satoshi saved her just before the 'stuff' happened, though I'm not quite sure about that last one. Nope she didn't. We se her get stopped by her friend's boyfriend the first time and she ran at the last second before meeting the guy the second time. The last time, in the hotel room where Alice confronts her. She was taking a shower before meeting the client. (evidence she was going to go through with it this time? I hope not!) In the scene just before Alice's friend opened the door to see if Alice was alright after the sound, you see an older guy, outside the room laying on the floor knocked out by Alice's friend. At the very least, no reason to knock the guy out as he was leaving. choyos said: She commits suicide because she saw no way out. She found true happiness with her boyfriend and her friend, yet she couldn't really forgive herself for doing all that (silly girl). That is way she ask them to not remember her (Freeze time right here) as that awesome girl they look up to rather than that girl that used to prostitute herself. That's what makes it all the more tragic. She had someone by her side who clearly loved her. And since he met her by hiring her one night, she didn't even have to worry about him finding out or looking down at her.. He literally knew what she was doing even before actually meeting her to begin with. Which makes her "damaged goods" comment about her self all the more tragic. The only person who truly mattered, didn't care! It wasn't too late to start over! :'( rodac said: As to why the boyfriend kept looking for her--I think that comes with denial as one of the first stages of grieving. It also explains his efforts to ward off decay with the ice. You had two people who really loved Shouko (albeit they each only knew half of her), what a pity Shouko couldn't let both of them into her whole life--it might have made a difference. Exactly! Denial.. He was emotionally destroyed at her death. It was likely a sense of trying to pretend to himself.. frantically holding on to... pretending that he still had a chance to find/save her. It could also be a little bit of nostalgic coping. Going through the motions as if she was still alive.. Kind of like the reaction to going into our old childhood house/bedroom, or mentally putting yourself into better times.. That kind of emotional reaction.. In the face of crushing reality and denial. He was clearly emotionally and mentally broken. The only thing I can fault him for is putting her friend into such danger.. When he tried to put a stop to their activities, he wasn't willing/able to tell her the truth, even in the face of her vowing to continue. zensunni said: Yumekichi11 said: This series is a mix of Gosick/Sket Dancing and fan service/serious shit. I may have not seen Sket Dancing yet but from the looks of a group going around solving mysteries in order to help out the hikikomori problem of Yuuko sounds to me like around the Sket Dancing theme. Despite her problem she still went outside. Gosick because Yuuko looks like Victorique except she ain't as cute as Victorique nor that smart so far but I do hand a props to her for using Google cams, net news and the whole mystery curriculum. There is another thing about Yuuko and that is her being cute in the following, a very nice trait to have being concerned about one's plushy. Before I go towards the situational and mystery analyzing I want to be clear on one thing in regards to it. I fucking hate pedo perverted dipshit IRL that actually pay 13 year old girls exploiting themselves on dating sites in Japan. I know all about it and I ain't buying the cheap ass shit excuse that I need money to buy shit! That is total BS! You need money to survive and eat, sure that is more acceptable but fact is 90% of the whores that under 18 do it to get materials for themselves like clothing, make up and other shit. So please, stop this shit Japan because its your own fucking fault that it's like that. Perhaps a job increase would be wiser now to do. So whoever supports underage dating IRL, I don't like you IRL and I will do what I have to do to jail you. Situational/mystery assessment! According to the following spoiler From the looks of the following spoiler I cannot wait to see other mysteries coming. XD Recently, it looks like Kishida Mel's characters are getting abused more and more. I hope you wrote this before seeing the show with subtitles... Comments in spoiler block. There was no murder. There was no 13 year-old prostituting herself. There were two girls who were engaging in "compensated dating" (prostitution), one was an 18 year-old high school senior, who committed suicide. The other was a 17 year-old high school Junior who was doing it to find out what happened to her best friend, who she did not know had committed suicide. I agree with everything you said about underage prostitution, but don't put out stuff about the show having 13 year-old prostitutes in it if it isn't true. It will give people the wrong impression! Not that it might not have some later on... I think this one is a bit edgy... And I like it! Yup. And in fact the second girl (Miku) never went through with it before find out the truth at the end.. The boyfriend's job in their little plan was to always interrupt things just before they got started. When he tried to stop the plan Miku did refuse and plan on going on without him. But as we saw, her first attempt ended in her running away just before the guy showed up and the second attempt was stopped by Alice and her friend telling her the truth in the hotel room. (You even see the would-be "client" knocked out in the hallway just before Alice's friend opens the door to check on her and Miku after hearing a sound. They clearly got there first and stopped things... which makes sense given both the opening of them trying to stop her the first time and the fact that there was no reason to show up and tell her there in the first place, if it wasn't to prevent her from making the mistake) I agree with your disgust on this. Like the poster above you pointed out though. The girl was in her late teens, not 12.. And it was only the friend (missing girl) who actually going through with it. The girl (Miku) looking for her, along with the missing girl's boyfriend were merely using "appointments" to get the men to show up so they could ask questions. And as you could see from the first part of this comment that thankfully she (Miku) never went through with anything. As for the boyfriend.. No.. There wasn't anything gross or fucked up about it.. He was just emotionally and mentally broken by her death.. not being able to help/protect her. The reason he was freezing the body is from the thing she said to him at some point before her death... That she wished they could just stop time and stay like that together forever.. free of all the troubles. In his now broken mind, also not being able to cope with losing her to begin with, he latched onto that "stopping time" idea in the only way he could think. It's tragic.. and one of the things she could be blamed for in all this. (well other than leaving her friend with her phone full of clients numbers and calls/texts) kUshPandA_ENJOi said: Omg i found a new thing that gives me a cringe out of the few. No, don't worry, she didn't. I thought it was boring that it seemed so long to complete lol. No wonder it was so long. Prostitution theme eh... no matter where I get to see that in anime, I'm really not comfortable with that at all. Felt bad for Shouko :( But what about Miku...? After that failed attempt, she did it with one of the Shouko's customer in the end right? i pretty sure miku is still a virgin although the scene shown were she come out hotels bathroom suggests the other other way but maybe it was their meeting point were the the customer was yet to reach at the hotel and as for why she is a virgin is alice was tracking her phone and hence since her room was bugged before she reached the hotel and in the first place alice her self wanted to to stop her acting alone so its obvious first they confirmed the situation with satoshi and then detailed her soon about the actual happening. Note: Why in the world would alice's group allow her to participate in enjo kosai and have her lose virginity and then reveal her about the truth and its not like they didnot have support to go against the customer if anything bad had happened. Yeah, she didn't. The first time the boyfriend of her friend interrupted as planned, the second time she ran away before the guy showed up and the last time in the hotel room was before the guy even got there. (made evident by the guy seen knocked out in the hall outside the room, right next to Alice's friend waiting outside.. and the fact that it would be utterly pointless for them to go and tell her then, if they weren't going to stop her) Plus all that talk by Alice about Miku being stopped before she does something she'll regret. DeadZeroSource said: so this girl alias Miku is a Prostitute? No, Miku never went through with any attempt. (which she had no reason to do in the first place since she was only using it as an excuse to talk to her friend's former clients) That was the whole point in going into the hotel room and telling her then and there. (also notice the guy knocked out on the floor next to Alice's friend outside in the hall.. no reason to do that if he was leaving) --------------------------------------------------- lostmymusic said: Why the fuck did they have to put that stupid ass retarded fanservice scene in at the end. When adapting a novel (or light novel) you usually have to leave some stuff out. J.C. Staff chose to put that scene. They did the same with Index II. They left so much out it was barely comprehensible yet they didn't miss a single chance to put an ecchi scene.CCZilla said: This was actually really interesting...until the fucking stripping scene that felt ripped straight out of Index. Fuck you for nearly ruining a pretty awesome show, JC Staff. I'll still watch the show, but if this keeps up I'll be really damned pissed. Putting scenes like that isn't necessary, at least when they don't affect the plot like in this case. It's like a guy staring a a girl's breast, you don't have to do that just cause they are there. JFC OC it was necessary! Who are you to tell others what is or isn't necessary? Get over yourself and or follow their ^ lead! |

jessiebessie002 said: About the boyfriend- it takes an extremely emotionally unstable enough person to do what he did. ----------------------------------------------------------------- I don't think he was unstable from the beginning. Her death likely hit him really hard. It seems that he truly loved her and was left broken after not being able to help or save her. I go into more detail on this in my main comment just above this reply to you. (the original post got too big to keep adding replies lol) "she effectively ruined her boyfriend's life, at least for the time being. That kind of thing, failing to protect/save the person you love most, is just about the worst thing you could imagine."......... ...... "Exactly! Denial.. He was emotionally destroyed at her death. It was likely a sense of trying to pretend to himself.. frantically holding on to... pretending that he still had a chance to find/save her. It could also be a little bit of nostalgic coping. Yeah, that's the other major thing she can be faulted for. leaving her friend with her phone full of clients numbers and future calls/texts?! I understand the reasoning after the fact but... :/ jessiebessie002 said: Now for some questions I have lol There were some things I was left REALLY confused about after watching the episode a second time. That was their first meeting. And likely their first date later that night too.. the dinner after. The ID was hers not Miku. Miku didn't even THINK about that stuff until her friend went missing and she got her phone. By that time Shouko was already dead. Miku likely used the phone to get in contact with the boyfriend while looking for her (Shouko) and created this plan to try to collect info on her whereabouts. Sadly the boyfriend was completely mentally out of it and went along. But we did see him come to his senses when he tried to talk Miku out of continuing. That's when she started trying to solve it alone. Thankfully Miku learned the truth before doing or getting something done to herself that she'll regret. The boyfriend's job in their little plan was to always interrupt things just before they got started. When he tried to stop the plan, Miku did refuse and planned on going on without him. But as we saw, her first attempt ended in her running away just before the guy showed up and the second attempt was stopped by Alice and her friend telling her the truth in the hotel room. Plus why knock him out if he was on his way OUT of the room anyway?) jessiebessie002 said: Second is the way they setup the mystery of Shouko's disappearance. Yeah, it was all a setup The boyfriend's job in their little plan was to always interrupt things just before they got started. As I said above, he probably met Miku through Shoko's phone. As for the main team showing up.. The same way they knew to at the end.. Alice is hacking things in mass. jessiebessie002 said: The third and most confusing part to me, is how the mystery wraps up. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Yeah, those are all good questions I have yet to see an answer for.. Especially Miku at the end in the room with the barred up windows. (See my post just under yours ^) jessiebessie002 said: TL;DR I'm interested in how this show goes, I like some of the character tropes, and that theres a bit of darkness and social commentary, even if at times its cringe. I did and NP.. See my above post/comments. :) --------------------------------------------------- taj69 said: Every good writer, or someone who works in the industry knows, that a 80% positive response is godly. "pandering" is one of the most ludicrous concepts in this context. (anime/manga/fiction/entertainment) It's no different than screeching about too much action in an action movie or nudity in a porn.
