Nice chapter. Has some great moments , especially the ending. A little bit short though.

Btw, vagabond will be taking a break. Inoue will work on his other manga Real.

You can see the extra info on the last page. It says that there is no date for the upcoming chapter, and just in the last issue of young jump it got confirmed that Real is returning after a 6 month break.

Well, as always the artwork is one of the best in manga I have seen. I have a lot of respect for Takehiko sensei. Other than that, the chapter was very good. Kojiro is awesome. How he juggled sake cup with his chopsticks was really impressive. I don't see why Tadaoki is angry. I believe the only one who can teach Kojiro something is Musashi, and seeing how he finally arrived at Tadaoki's father's house, I believe the fateful meeting can happen in 1 or 2 chapters.

Finally reread Vagabond and caught up with the newest chapters, I've missed this series! As Real is one of my other favourite series and I'm itching for more, I can do with waiting. How often do you have a mangaka working on two brilliant, long spanning works simultaneously? Both stories feel like they have years left in them. His work has always been in a league of its own.

Definitely. I enjoy watching hime more than Musashi philosophy tripping over at his rice paddy fields.

finally caught up, honestly if you're still lusting after combat and epic battles by this point then you may as well have just skipped the last 100 chapters and ended on the yoshioka arc because... has anything sank in really?

the farming arc might be one of the best things i've come across in manga, a year of all his teachings sinking slowly into himself as he digs holes in the ground. it's like his frantic digging was driven not only by his desire to best everything, but I guess in a sense to also bury it-- himself. a lot of his character development comes during and after battles, but what about the before? the in between? it's the first time really. that's he had a chance for prolonged introspection to truly examine what he's chasing. it's not some swiftly asked, have I done enough? before he stumbles off to his next battle. his acknowledgement of otsu really made me smile too, as it did to him among many other things during that arc. I enjoy seeing him smile more than the early crazed look in his eyes during battles, don't you?

Vagabond is fantastic.

What the hell why MAL has Vagabond as completed?

anyway, another great unfinished story, seeing that this chapter came out 2 years ago makes me even more depressed.

Time to put this with HxH and Berserk in the "suffering for new chapters" list.

Caught up to this today.
...sadly realized I only had 2 chapters to read. :(

Inoue has some serious writer's block when it comes to Vagabond. He's talked about this before. I certainly don't blame him for taking a break and working on REAL(I hear it's quite good as well), but damn, it's almost been two years now. FeelsBadMan.

So the manga is complete? Does anyone know why?!

Why do I always find mangas that I really enjoy and they either have a shit ending or haven't been completed. I'm sad, I'll never see Otsu & Musashi.

Miura and Inoue definitely have something in common -.-

Anyone know when it's possible that Inoue will continue with the story?

I'm wondering under what circumstances Musashi and Kojiro will have their battle, considering Matahachi's "foreshadowing" as an older man, stating that it did in fact happen. How could the manga lead up to that? Musashi's quite changed now, and Kojiro seems to be anxious to see him again.

*impatience increases*

Takehiko Inoue's given more than enough for the industry with Slam Dunk, Real, and Vagabond. Serialization just took too big of a toll over him and dying over art isn't worth it. I'm saddened by it being forever unfinished but it's fine.

Finally catching up to this "hiatus ending" and also the unofficial "manga exhibition ending".

I could only say that this is the most beautiful manga that I've ever read. I don't think I've ever want it to end even if it have official ending. The same feeling that I get when I read the final chapter of Slam Dunk. Damn you Inoue, you did it to me, again.

I'm not regretting anything for reading this masterpiece (even with it's lack of ending). I think I'll re-read it again from the beginning to fill this void inside of me.

Takehiko Inoue is alive, he's just into basketball now. He's drawing Real (a manga about wheelchair basketball, I'm yet to read it though), it's actually been on hiatus for several years too, but now it's resuming serialization.
As for Vagabond, it's on hiatus, Inoue never stated that the manga was finished. Previously he said in an interview (https://mangabrog.wordpress.com/2014/08/09/takehiko-inoue-the-vagabond-hiatus-interviews/):

Inoue: Well, speaking in terms of what I want to do: As I said before, I really don’t at all have the urge to work on it right now, but I do know that if I don’t work on it, I’ll be in trouble down the road, and that’s basically what was keeping me going up until I went on hiatus. I don’t think that’s a good way of going about it. My hope is to stay away from Vagabond until all those unnecessary worries and emotions are gone and I’m ready to draw it because I want to draw it. I’m not sure if I’ll be allowed to wait that long, though.

It's about another hiatus, but I believe the reasons are the same now. Let's just hope for the better.

I'm late to Inoue's grand return, but REAL coming back gives me some hope for Vagabond. Slight hope, but hope nonetheless. Even if it takes a few more years, it's still in the realm of possibility. It just seemed like he was done altogether. Even with REAL. Happy to see him back.

I still have hope that Inoue will, at some point, find the desire to continue this manga that is a true masterpiece and that brought me to manga in the first place few years ago, and I will have it every time I see this series on my shelf.
