Lol, that was funny. Oh Eijun bumping heads to heads with an old rival again. I think that got him hyped up for the upcoming match which imo needs.

It was overall a pretty fun episode. This is calm before the storm so I expect the pacing will pick up soon. He needs to make sure he controls that pitch well enough.

Sawamura being told to use bunt for the whole game, even by the coach too!
Sawamura wanting to learn to throw breaking balls!
The coach being harsh on Azuma ^^
Sawamura's crossfire pitch being an unique cutter!
He gets along with Azuma in a different way. It was funny how Azuma got hit by all those pitches.
Ryo and Youichi's partnership!
When Sawamura can use this pitch anytime without it being a ball, that would be an amazing episode to see!

I hope that this episode hinted that Sawamura will close next game because everyone was talking about Kawakami not being confident enough. Yes definitely would like to see Sawamura close the next game.

Is it just me or is there a lot of REALLY long panning scenes in this series? A still of the brothers panned for almost 10 seconds lol.

Damn. I'm surprised the game hasn't started yet. Looks like it won't start next week, either.

No it's not just you I noticed that awhile back. Never really bothered me so I didn't mention it. But they are longer than average. I be thinking I've hit pause a few times. lol

Good episode. I still can't wait for game!
I died laughing when Eijun hit Azuma's stomach. xD too funny!

Nice episode. With the appearance of Azuma they left the possibility of following Sawamura's life after high school, going in a similar direction like the one in Major. Of course this is just a silly wish of mine, but okay.

Also, they left a hint that Furuya might also get a power up soon.

Man, if Major was even close to the cinematics of this show it would be amazing. The actual baseball unfortunately felt flat for me in the later seasons of Major.

Enjoyable episode. But im beginning to wonder since this anime got extended to next year. I think the pacing is going to slow down. It's already been five episodes since they won their semi-final and two episodes since Inashiro won theirs. I hope the pacing doesn't slow down considerably because the pacing so far has been great.

I think they are slowing down due to the extension of episodes. Even the next episode looks like a filler. Or is it really part of the manga? Anyway, the return of that fat senpai! Haha, can't stop laughing when the ball hit his fatty stomach. I just love Sawamura's energy.

The pacing won't slow down, the anime has currently covered about 145 chapters of the manga. The manga is scanlated up to chapter 374 (about 100 chapters in between are unscanlated though). The next episode is not filler.

The "merciless" coach was jokes.

Sawamura really should only go for Bunts XD He's a boss in them lol

Nice to see Ryo is able to play well...for now <_<

Sawamura's new pitch looks awesome. I don't think he'll have enough time to make it "Game usable" though.

It really is scary thinking about how BA Sawamura and Furuya will be when they reach their third year if they're already this BOSS this early on ^^

Getting hit with a baseball seems like it would be more serious than that.
I thought for sure that this episode would be the start of the game.
I think it will start at the very end of episode 50.

I don't mind this string of episodes covering the team's backstories/training and such. The game against Inashiro's gonna be a long one, and this is really the "calm before the storm."

Sawamura's cutter has finally made its entrance! Whoo!!

I want Seidou vs Inashiro!
I'm so impatient!
How many episodes till their game?
Just want to know how long I need to wait :)

I love how Furuya even he is "the best", all spotlight go to Sawamura in this episode :)

Same here, you can tell that it's not a high budget series for sure, especially since it's a long running one. But yeah, it doesn't really bother me either since I've gotten used to it after all this time. Same thing with the white backgrounds with the floating "dust" which also happens quite often.

LOL at Eijun hitting Azuma's fat XD And it's nice to hear from Azuma that the third years weren't great at baseball either when they first arrived to Seidou (unless you're Miyuki, even if he isn't a third year yet :P).

Um what. This show does have a high budget. It's made by Madhouse and IG which are the top two ones for sports anime.

Anyway, I liked the change of pace. This episode makes me realize how much I love this show and how sad I will be when it ends next year.

Another pro that older sports anime lack. I loved Major's baseball action but having DNA's animation would make it pretty much the perfect sports anime for a sports fan.

Well idk tbh, so yeah I'm just randomly speaking without any real evidence regarding the budget. But I don't mean that it has low budget either, it seems to be to be average budget, if that makes any sense. I know it's Madhouse x IG, but I don't think that means by default it would have a high budget per se. It looks great of course, but it's not like KnB or Haikyuu where there's definitely more animation going on in those anime versus DnA (unless I'm blind). I apologize if I'm wrong, I didn't mean it in a bad way when I said it doesn't have high budget. I'm merely expressing thoughts about the long panning scenes (and the white shining backgrounds to express surprise/shock/for emphasis).

@tingy: I think it's on part with KnB and Haikyuu!! tbh. There's not much you can do with a baseball anime other than make the balls really fast

I think it's taking the manga and just adapting it faithfully (if we're talking about the white shining backgrounds)

It's only serious when it hits your head or a joint (like arms/legs)

Eijun is a master of bunt

Wait is nobody else notching the Ryo is injured?

Woah Azume is back

I’m pretty sure Eijun can learned overnight somehow. Oh my gosh he’s been thinking about it for a while now.

It's been ten months, it's truly been that long.

I knew somebody was gonna get hurt

The coach is not letting that go lmao
