Am I the only one who don't watches airing anime?

It seems like I'm the only person who doesn't watch airing anime.
The reason for that is just, that German subs (because my english isn't the best) need longer then english subs and also most of the time the quality isn't good either.
So I can choose from long waiting times + bad quality and longer waiting times + great quality.

That's why I mostly wait and then download all the animes in one go.
Also I hate to wait 1 week, especially if it's an cliffhanger ending.

Am I the only one here who does this?

There are a lot of people (even with perfectly fine English skills) who prefer to wait and marathon stuff. It's just a matter of personal preference, so you are far from alone in that. I have times where I don't watch anything airing aside like one show myself, simply because I don't want to have to wait a week to see more.

You're using an English forum, typing in decent English compared to most foreigners, yet you say can't/won't watch English subs.

Something's fishy.

I hate having to wait for something to finish airing so i would put that series aside until it finish then by then, all the episodes are really subbed.

I do both.
I watch every currently airing anime that I find interesting and at the same time marathon something else that already finished.

I doubt you are the only one; I didn't watch airing anime until just last year (other than Code Geass, Death Note, and Naruto many many years ago).

Anyways I enjoy watching airing anime because there is no general opinion on them (yet) and I don't really know what to expect in terms of quality; aka i don't have much expectations for most airing anime.

It's not like I can't. For comedy anime it's enough, but if the anime is a more complex one I don't know a few words here and there, which annoys me and also prevents me from understanding it sometimes.
That's why I don't (want to) watch anime with english subs.

I generally like to have a whole series available and ready to go so I can watch it all in one shot. And I don't watch much TV.

Sometimes I will make an exception and seek out a show (Snk for example) that interests me and watch it as it becomes available.

But not usually.

And I don't usually watch long-running anime that are currently ongoing (Fairy Tail, One Piece, Naruto). A key part of any story is the finale, and if there simply isn't one, it doesn't sit well with me.

I don't normally watch airing anime because I have other things I need to watch. I'll start once I'm done with what I need done.

I can see you

As if. Go into the majority of the first episode discussion threads and almost everyone is already declaring the show as shit. Its amazing how fast people judge a show off of one episode.

I don't have the patience to watch airing anime. I like to be in control of when I watch my show...which is usually all within a couple of days.

I enjoy watching airing anime since it's always going to be something new for the most part. Also if you like a certain show that is airing, it's something to look forward to.

I never watch airing (other than Naruto, One Piece, and Attack on Titan). I'm a marathon man so waiting weekly is terrible, I realized how much I hate it while the first season of attack on titan was airing. Right now with one piece and naruto I'm taking a break until the current arcs end then I'll marathon through them.

Plenty of people don't watch anime as it currently airs, so I wouldn't fret. I like watching week-to-week when there's a show I seriously wanna see, but those shows are few and far between. I'm bad at keeping on top of the news of new shows and episodes, plus I have other hobbies and other things that distract me. My PTW list is just so big I wind up watching all kinds of stuff at any given time. There's so much anime that it really doesn't matter because you'll usually always find some discussion on whatever you're watching. It's also kind of a relief to be able to watch all at one time because you don't have to wait for the next episode.

I never watched airing series until recently. I was able to keep up with 3 different series at one time, but I wouldn't do it again. After a week I lose some of the impact from the previous episode and it's just not as great for me.

I usually have a series that has finished airing for that season going, so that I have something to watch in between episodes of the few currently airing shows I watch. Otherwise it gets boring.

I think watching stuff while it's airing has it's own unique aspect of excitement since you have the time to analyze, discuss and speculate on the forums the things you've seen and you get a week to build up hype.

You know, every 'Am I the only one' thread ends up the same way. People saying 'no, you aren't.'

So no, you aren't. I used to be someone who never watched airing anime because I had no clue when they aired. My process of discovering new anime was through pictures, so my results varied.

I prefer watching Airing anime. It gives me something to look forward to each day.

Just about every day I have some form of series come out so it's good for a bit of variety.

To each their own though I guess.

I've always... always been watching you... This whole time... Because you were there... That's why I was able to try hard. So you could have some balance! So you wouldn't treat me like a kid! So you would see me as an actual girl! Even while you were gone... You were right here! You were right here in my heart!

I wouldn't have watched 40% of the anime on my list if they weren't airing at the time.

1 episode a week of something is easy to watch even if it's somewhat mediocre.the latest examples are kill la kill and strike the blood. those 2 were mediocre at best but I pulled through due to it being only 1 episode a week

I prefer not to watch Anime while its Airing, there are a few exceptions like if a show is episodic (Space Dandy) or maybe I just checked out something due to hype (Kill la Kill) and never thought I would watch it if I tried to marathon it so deemed it better to watch week to week.

I know some people like to discuss Anime as its Airing but even when I go back to a thread of something I've just marathoned, I never feel like I missed out on anything, I'm not one to speculate on what is going to happen next or just say something was good/bad.

Sometimes I wish I was watching some of the long running shows, I could imagine watching Gintama week to week was great in most cases just for a weekly fix of comedy without it being very story driven and I'm one of those people that looks at 200+ episodes and just goes URGH...

In conclusion there is always going to be some exceptions in my case but I would rather not wait week to week for something very story driven and just marathon it in the future, I enjoy Anime more that way.
