I seriously suggest that people don't judge a book by it's cover. Especially those saying a particular anime is not good even though they haven't seen it. Nevertheless, that's their choice to not watch the anime.

Anyway, anything that is Yaoi. I don't have anything against it. It's just not my taste.

No, you're free to judge it however way you want. Don't be bound by an old quote that only goes for books. This old quote seriously needs to be retired, it has no use outside of old books. If a title of an anime or toon gave me an impression, it must provide it through the content to help not fall into disappointment. Not lie with the title.

Only applies to books? Did you, by any chance, actually read what you typed?

Everybody has to watch at least one Ghibli movie, they're like the Disney films of Japan but waaaay better (and I love a good Disney film).

I can't watch One Piece, I just find the art absolutely atrocious and painful to watch but that's probably because I grew up in a house of GITS lovers so I'm accustomed to a certain kind of art (read vaguely realistic).

Code Geass' art is not close to "vaguely realistic", so how come there's no problem there? Maybe you just hate it for the sake of hating it?

And on another note, Disney movies are still better than Ghibli one's by and large. There's only 1 or 2 Ghibli films that even stand out to be used for any sort of comparison.

The day I knew One Piece it just suddenly aired in my face, (meaning I had no expectations whatsoever) and I didn't like stuff like Luffy eating a watermelon or something only to become a stretchy fighter and... pirate. Its just your fighting thing.

Ah, okay. I just saw your post and I thought it was weird expecting something from title alone and highly disappointed from the assumption you made yourself. Not that you are wrong but it's really weird since lots of anime titles make no sense in english (and most of the time I thought they just want to make the titles sound cool). If you think the title should be enough to tell the premise, I suggest you to watch anime with tl;dr title like My Girlfriend and Childhood Friend Fight Too Much, Even With Eighth Grader Syndrome I Want to Be in Love, or My Mental Multiple-Choice Power Is Completely Ruining My School Romantic Comedy. Your assumption won't miss.

This might be off topic but I just want to confirm something. About One Piece, did you watch the 4kids version?

You might have only seen the old episodes I guess, http://adala-news.fr/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/One-Piece-anime-2013.jpg , here the "style" of the most recent ones. I don't like the style of the first episodes of One Piece either, though I'm now a big fan.

I don't watch anime that has a lot of episodes. I don't watch Mecha and Card Game as well, and also anything that is same-gender romance. Here are my reasons:

"Draggy" Anime
My experience of watching Naruto and One Piece has made me realised that I was wasting my time. The episodes usually drag and drag - e.g. multiple flashbacks, unnecessary fillers, wasting time on showing the "shocked" expression of the characters. Therefore, I would not watch any anime with a lot of episodes - unless if the plot is interesting and no unnecessary fillers, like Kingdom.

Mecha
I don't find robots fighting with each other to be interesting. The characters might as well fight against each other without having to resort to use robots.

Card Game
Card Game anime is, to me, pretty boring. This anime is usually targeted to kids, so maybe this is the reason why I don't watch it. Also, I have no interest in card games (I don't even know how to play Poker), maybe that is another reason.

Same-Gender Romance
This is pretty obvious. I find them disgusting.

Anime with a lot of episodes (e.g. more than 100), especially Naruto, One Piece and Hunter X Hunter.

These three anime have way too much fillers (i.e. anime-exclusive episodes, except Hunter X Hunter), and also I feel that each episode is 'draggy' - e.g. the characters keep having multiple flashbacks; the hero and the enemy keep talking and talking, but there is only one fighting scene in a single episode; the characters are "shocked" for some major thing that happened and wasted a lot time (e.g. One Piece - Hody's appearance made the soldiers and townspeople to be shocked, and the anime keep showing each and every one's shocked face and wasted a lot of time). The OP is also more than the usual 1.5 minutes, wasted a lot of time) The manga is also getting boring and 'draggy' as well.

There are exceptions though. If a long series anime is very interesting and is not 'draggy' like One Piece and Naruto, I would watch it. One example would be Kingdom. Excellent plot, no fillers and straight to the point.

I also don't watch Mecha.

I still judge the book however way I want. Its an old quote that is miserable in today's generation. And anime included. That is, the title shouldn't precisely pick something of all things to expect (such as killing...) and put the exact opposite (...and fanservice) inside the content.

I can't tell which version of One Piece I watched, but even if it wasn't the 4kids version, I doubt there'll be more to it than maybe innuendo and better dialogue, and the dialogue isn't going to help me in watching One Piece either.

It's very vague too. Just having fillers means that it's a horrible anime, who cares about the quality of them, how many there are, their placement, how they interact with the canon material or their purpose. Anime is anime, manga is manga. Some people need to learn that.

Yes it could be that it isn't your thing, but I wouldn't judge OP by having watched just 1 episode. It has a slow developing story but that also means Oda put a lot of effort into setting up and explaining vast and intricate way the world of OP works.

I thought that too. The problem is that, it has like 600 episodes.
Tbh, it's not that I hated it, I just don't know how much episodes will it take to actually get into a sort of faster pace.

Maybe you could read the manga. You can easily get to the Arlong arc the day you start and if you don't like that arc, it's likely that you won't like much of One Piece.

P.S. if it's pacing, just know that out of the Big 3, One Piece is the worst (though the snail-pacing doesn't start until around episode 350+)

Slow pace will do just fine (quite a number of great anime has that trait), just don't want things to stay dull as it is..

actually i doubt op is ever dull in the earlier episodes,it's during the ph arc that an episode can go by with little to nothing happening

I disagree completely. Almost all Ghibli movies are as good (or even better) as any of Disney efforts. And i'm a huge Disney fan, i've watched all of their movies. But still Ghibli has something else, an extra flavor into their productions that Disney lacks. Pixar and Don Bluth's movies from the 80s such as The land before time, American Tail and The Secret of NIMH are the closest to this extra feeling Ghibli has in my opinion.

Disney is amazing, put animation on another level in terms of quality back in the time, but many studios have accomplished better works in the past 40 years

An anime that i imagine i may like a lot, but i'm discouraged to keep watching is Gintama.

I've watched the first two episodes and they were so boring that i almost fell asleep. I know that they are filler, but the biggest obstacle is that i've read throughout the internet it only gets acceptably good after a large bunch of episodes and no matter how mesmerizing it 's likely to become further on, i don't think i'll make it, so i'm not intending to endure it

Bar some very few exceptions, I refuse to watch any:

- Super long-running series
- Sports anime
- Extremely old series (unless they have like revolutionary art style for their time maybe)
- Yaoi
