1. This is why u don't read titles/watch previews before an episode starts. It spoils too much.

2. No, mitty, no. No man tears for u. The ep title was so obvious. U don't deserve mah man tears.

3. U have to be a girl and like fatty fat fat kids to cry.

4. Just a terribad ep. Each ep has gotten horrible & predictable.

5. I took the pleasure and went to episode 6 forum discussion, looked for the people who supported mitty, & laughed at their posts until i broke blood vessels. die mitty die!!! Nyahahhahahahah!!!

Good episode..

Lots of nice aerial actions. Not sure why use trainees in real fights like that..

Countess Ulshyrra takes Claire and Ignacio away. Seems like Ignacio knew everything from the beginning..
It's stupid for Claire to keep acting as a figurehead.. -.-

Mitsuo and Chiharu's piloting was fabulous! Loved their reckoning skills and detecting enemy planes.

The enemy fleet was so advanced compare to Isla's side.. Want to see them counterattack for once.

Tough decision of firing the flare.. Mitsuo, you did a good job aiding Isla to defeat the enemies.

Felt really bad for Mitsuo when he realized he won't make it.. :/ At least, he made sure to save Chiharu. What a great pilot! He should be promoted to Lieutenant or something..

R.I.P Mitsuo.. That was definitely a glorious death..

Next episode should be epic. Karl and Ari will put up some serious fight. Looking forward to it.

So, even with Mitty's death being so obvious from all of the death flags being thrown up since last episode, I still expected it to be handled better. It was too painfully obvious and unemotional, there were no feels involved at all. Poor, fat, bastard didn't even go out properly. Here's to a failed "Blaze of Glory".

So Ignacio wasn't completely pointless, saw this coming as well, but still he's been such a pointless, blend into the background, character that you wouldn't know he was part of the show if Ari didn't keep trying to make him socialize. Hey, Ignacio, why don't you f'n doing something sometime?

The Countess, is it just me or does that bitch need to die? I mean like seriously brutal, torn limb from limb, organs ripped out, I wanted to be Jack the Ripper but didn't have the patience, kind of death. She's done nothing but interfere with Claire's attempt to have a life since the start, and is always so cold and very rude to the figurehead she's supposed to be looking after. Kill the bitch, die bitch die!!

...As much as I wanted to drop the show because of the failed episodes that were 1 through 6, they seriously bored me to sleep every time I watched them, I have to say that I'm glad I've stuck with it. We're 7 episodes into a 12 run series, and if it keeps this pace, nothing will be resolved by episode 12 and all of the bitching and complaining I've done will finally be proven as fact. But, on a lighter note, as unskillfully done as Mitty's death was this was indeed a good episode.

Overall, I give this one 5/10
Odds are I'm not going to find my way back to a thread after my first post, it happens on occasion but not often. So, if I say something that offends you and you feel the need to force your opinion on me because obviously everyone should have your opinion or none at all, feel free to post it in the thread that I'll probably never see again. I think I understand this wrong, but are they really sending newbie teenage pilots to get involved in a war? Let's get real now...

Yes, the sky and clouds were fantastic!!! Very beautiful.

Yes, because the dont have that much people on the island and need every man who can fly. In the first place, the students got a simple task. And this happens in war for real. Look to Afrika, were kids are equipped with machine guns and are part of attacking groups. This is real, open your eyes!!

Well that sucks, had he survived he most definitely would have gotten to at least 2nd base, maybe even all the way home. Instead he dies with hand-holding being the most action he ever got. Never even took a step out of the dugout...

The build up to this grand aerial battle was well done
Diversion created by the Skyclan was very clever with those dummies

When Mitsuo and Chihara found the real enemy fleet it got serious
From the moment they both agreed to use flare and light the first one the tears started, since the deathflag comments were made from previous episode and the title

It was great to see how these fight was presented
Poor Mitty dying like Hayao Kakizaki (why do the chubby's always die first -_- )
I thought Chihara would die with him, he was definitely heroic to trick her into safety

Next episode seems promising too

That was one hell of a sacrifice. Don't fire the flare and you'll be safe but Isla might suffer grave damages or fire the flare at the cost of your life but possibly keeping your friends safe. Then if both of them bail at the same time, the enemy would have immediately shot them down in mid-air. If one remains, then he could at least act as a diversion until the other is at a safe distance.

Agreed. Although we all saw it coming, I still cried for Mitsuo. I didn't really care about him as a character, but his last moments were truly beautiful ;_; war stories are always so heartwrenching...looks like some more pain in the next episode. Things are finally picking up.

I could really feel the sense of danger that came with Mitty and Chiharu evading the enemy fire. Usually the whole "dodging around enemy fire" doesn't seem daring enough, I'm glad they were able to make it intense. Wow, even with Mitty's death pretty much being a given, it was still emotional. Very well executed moment, tears almost came out when Chiharu started crying.

Mitty... He was a true pilot and a hero... T_T

TBH it was kind of predictable where he is about to die at some point since the preview from the previous episode gave it away. Though the explosion caught my surprise, so it didn't ruined me in the last scene.

There's something about this show that just prevents me from staying attached to this show. It could be the pacing, the animation, or even the shitty execution of its plot. This episode tried to be dramatic and cool, but I just sat there waiting for it to end. I couldn't care less about Mitty or Chiharu. The guy was a walking death flag right from the beginning. They didn't flesh out these characters enough to warrant me caring for them. The whole Mitty/Chiharu thing just seemed so ridiculously forced.

The only thing that seemed interesting was the enemy. They seemed to have tech that surpassed Isla's but for whatever reason they got their shit rocked so easily. Wtf?

And then there was the whole thing about Ignacio. His reveal to be the bodyguard was hardly attention catching. They passed him off for 6 episodes with nearly zero development and then all of a sudden we're suppose to actually give a shit that he has such an important role?

This show is potential being wasted right now. The execution in this show is horrendous.

It was clear that one of them would die or both of them but it was well done although predictable. I hoped he would do some amazing maneuver and crash into an enemy fighter to take one of them with them in his death but no such luck.

We finally get some fighting AND ITS BORING. Damn, in a show about pilots in war I expected some intense dogfights and not torpedos and surprised defenders about missing position-lights (thats Airraid 101, dammnit).

Yeah. So far it seems that there isn't anyone working on this series that knows even the slightest thing about airplanes, or even aerial combat. The so called "dogfights" have been boring and absurd, so improperly put together that they'd of been better off leaving the planes out of this series completely.

Overall, however, I still believe this to be a better, stronger, episodes than any of those that lead up to it.

They thought that the main force was the one that attacked from the front to which they deployed their fighting units. They deployed the students as recon around the island only to evade the worst case scenario.

Mitty's role was only to serve as a recon unit but he and his girl chose to get involved themselves because they wanted to protect the island.

So no they didn't send teenagers to go kill themselves and these two bring it upon themselves.

When Kal El has his flashback time, we've seen that Ignacio knows about him, and hate him very much. If following usual pattern, then his family probably died because of the previous government.
What's still unclear is why he bother going with Isla, unless he's a yandere obsessed with Kal.

Want to see him warm up more to Ari though, and both can babysit Kal and Claire together :)

For the sky clan, they probably attack because Isla is coming into their territory. Welcome the trespassers with hot lead, not that uncommon.

Touching episode. Even though the death was anticipated, it did stop me from feeling sympathy towards it. Mitty was a good guy.

I'm not a big fan of where the anime is going, I think twelve episode is WAYYYY too low for an anime with such a grandiose stage. There's no way they can reconcile and make ado with the plot without rushing.

I want to see how they do it, and I've enjoyed the anime so far, but unless everyone dies in the end, and Isla is destroyed, there is no good to end this anime in five episodes. That just what's creeps through my mind everytime I watch this.

Ignacio...I wonder if he's going to be the butt of the all the jokes for every episode by being cut off before he finishes talking.

First, the moment they had on the swings in the previous episodes, then the title of this episode; the constant death flags everywhere. I knew at least one of them was going to die, but still was put off by it. ...because they just had to kill off the only fat guy as the first casualty among the students.
