I had gone successfully without tearing up this whole series, until this episode. The moment where her father was pleading for her forgiveness on the stairs. Ngh.

I think we all agree Misaki deserved to get stabbed, but taking a peek into the lives of the rich and famous... it's interesting to see how they are judged on what their parents have done, when they can't do anything about it.

Oh, and woo-hoo! Nanako is on a roll with this standing up for herself thing!

Go Nanako....!
It's good to see her defending herself and not to be pushed over by those sorority members :-D

I gotta say Mariko deserved that slap too... I think it was more like tough-father's-love thing.

So good to see Nanako finally standing up for herself.

Even the birds are joining in on the melodrama now, lol. Deciding to smash the window at such a convenient time. Must have been a pretty weak window xD

Nanako used to be pretty bland, but increasingly, she turns out to have a strong backbone when things really matter.

While I in general dislike Fukiko's severity, I initially agreed that to do something like attack someone with a knife is unacceptable and needs to be punished, but then I recalled that "sorority" means "sisterhood", and I think an argument can be made that Mariko should receive help rather than punishment from her "sisters".

YEAAH! Nanako stood up for herself omg! About time! And that look on Miya's face was priceless.

Nanako isn't taking your BS anymore. I think the bird slamming into the window kinda ruined the moment for me lol. xD

About time Nanako starts standing up for herself.

Also, this made me laugh so hard. "Shut up! My wound hurts."

Not sure if I'm surprised to read this, but the bird smashing into the window was just a metaphor, since you know, it happened exactly when Nanako decided to leave the Sorority.

I was expecting Nanako to do that. The only reason she was there was Mariko. She'd never stay there without Mariko.

According to the preview, it seems like the "revolution" is cooking up.

That ending was superb. Nanako was a rather weak character at first but lately she's growing in security. I like it.

The scene between Mariko and her father was indeed emotional. While watching this anime you might even laugh at some of the exaggerated situations but at the same time truly care about the characters. A really unique experience.

As much as I dislike Mariko, I'm glad that the presumable end of her arc was a positive one that brought much needed closure. And it was really cool to see Nanako stand up to Miya and her followers--I mean the Sorority. I wonder if Kaoru-no-Kimi will start appearing more now since now Nanako understands her dislike of the Sorority

I saw the bird thing more as a metaphor, not like it literally happened.

I relate to Mariko so much I almost cried when she was in the stairs with the candles in her hands. In the start of the series I hated her but now I just understand and sympathize with her.

Uh....dare I say, Mariko's family might be one of the most complicated ones I've seen in anime. That was also one of the heaviest episodes thus far, and given how heavy the anime has been thus far, that's quite the achievement. Also, Nanako's first act of true defiance: refusing to help with that "tea part." Her second, leaving the sorority by her own decision. Holy crap, this anime is seriously ramping up on intensity really, really fast.

Mariko and her storylines in this anime are probably my favorite, I just get so much more invested and glued to the screen as I see it unfolds. Such complex character and her family too, her dads line that she shouldn't hate HERSELF really got to me.

The stained glass window probably represents Miya-sama, or at least the perception of her power, which would make sense since Rei has her clocktower-vent-time-pow-wows surrounded by such windows. So the bird is Nanako, and she is smashing the window and therefore Miya('s authority), in a way.

I'm pleasantly surprised with the way Nanako's character is being developed. Her behavior in regards with the introspection she goes through each episode are on point.
I honestly am very surprised that I enjoy this series so much.

Revolution is near! Break that prison! Break that Sorority! What has it done to the school REALLY?
Can't believe after Miya and Rei's high drama, in what would have been a awkward change, the shift to Mariko's story is totally wonderful.
The thing about the father, I both hate him and empathize with him. Even his partner is kinda good. Everyone is good in this situation, but put all those good together creates disaster.
So it's easy to say Mariko ganbare, take care of yourself, be strong, fuk men! But in reality, for a 10th grader this situation needs a lot of tears and anger.

Mariko's family situation will hopefully lead to the point where Nanako knows the truth about her brother, and has to deal with the family of her own. Hope she makes good decision then.

Oh, and Mariko has had 3 really great scenes and monologue so far. This whole thing about saving candles and not burning them cuz papa was not home, is sad.
The shot of Nanako and Tomoko alone on the train after the scene at Mariko's house is beaaaauuuutiful. All campy colors and garbage blown by the wind.
All their names end in 'ko' so it's easy to remember.

Very touching moment with Mariko and dad. Those candles too. Love the voice acting.

And Nanako badass moment at the end. Miya just got served! Hahhahaahha! I never thought I'd say "LET'S GO!" in a series like this but....LET'S GO!

From now on, Mariko is my favorite character. Her story is really complex, but at the same time very real. It felt closer to real life than any other character's problems tbh. I've felt her frustration with her father not bothering with his family, and her mom not taking any action and only weeping to herself while she has every right to be angry. I wanted someone to slap or punch that dude the whole episode, but alas. Kudos to him though, for showing that he actually cared for his daughter even if he is still a piece of shit.

At least Nanako spoke up to the sorority in front of everyone. I'd have cursed the whole sorority, but she is too polite for that I guess. Still *claps to Nanako* About damn time!

Seems like Mariko's family situation has somewhat been resolved with the piece of shit dad finally showing a little bit care over his only daughter instead of his lover. Nanako was amazing at the end, after all the bullshit that the Sorority caused she finally was able to leave without Miya to stop her since the other members were there

Another S-class episode! Two in a row!

The conversation between Mariko & her father indubitably earns the spotlight, it was unquestionably one of the best moments in this show. Her father has an interesting philosophy, I guess it resonated with Mariko & her self-hatred. Nanako's speech at the end didn't make much sense to me compartmentalized, but I think it was more of a culmination of everything that happened priorly. Kaoru was probably shedding motherly tears listening to Nanako, though!

Can't believe the drama! Wow! This show is hilarious, I feel like I'm watching Gossip Girl😂😂 (never seen it, but this school drama is for real).
Can't believe Mariko's dad though! He was down there in a flash, worried about his daughter. That was nice, hopefully he will remain in her life when she gets better. I felt so sad for her! I've heard so many awful stories about parent's divorcing, and here I am, wishing my parents had left their toxic relationship and got a divorce😂😂 nope, still together and toxic. Maybe they're a little happy without children to worry about.... what would I know lmao

Anyway, loving the drama. Such an interesting show, I'm dying to see what happens next.

Bruh finally. I can't believe it took so long for Nanako to publicly say she wants to leave the Sorority. Best moment of the series so far easily!!

Takehiko is such a G. I like when stupid cliché scenes like just happening to drive by as someone you know is about to commit suicide is made to feel natural. Although scenes like that can never actually feel completely natural I still think they handled it so well. It was just nice to Mariko having someone there for her. Tomoko and Nanako being there for her at the house was also great ^^

ngl Mariko is pretty lucky she's not being expelled (or maybe not, because being in a school where everyone knows you stabbed at someone sounds pretty tough) but tbh she always only cared about what 2-3 people thought about her anyway and I'm sure Nanako, Tomoko and even Kaoru aren't going to leave her.

Misaki's become insanely hatable xD I think it's a good inidication the series is doing good job with it's characterisation that I dislike her more than the villains in some of my other favourite series even though she's just a side character. She's nowhere near as bad as someone like Shou Tucker but man I just hate seeing her bitching at Mariko and Nanako every episode.

Good on Nanako for outright saying she's leaving the sorority, Fukiko doesn't deserve her there.
Also fuck Mariko's Dad, literally has never been a part of her life, and decides to show up only when she's at her worst, hate him, but hopefully Mariko can heal going forward!

This episode kinda got me. I was able to come to terms with it, but as a child of divorced parents, I felt Mariko's pain.

Nanako is fed up with the bs. Her leaving was another great moment right there. She's more of a spirit animal for what sorority should actually stand for than the whole bunch of pretentious snobs.

Oh my! She finally did it! I thought it was going to be just her having not going to the meeting but having her stand up to Miya in front of everyone? Magnificent.

Mariko's whole family drama ended as good as someone who was about to burn her house could end but the scene with the candles was beautiful.

@Trap_Traps_Traps Most people have a theory about the last paragraph. The reason that someone like Sakura is hated more than someone like Makima, is because you're more likely to run into a Sakura than you are to run into a Makima. It's the same with Shou Tucker vs Misaki. You're more likely to run into a cruel school bully, than you are to run into a trash scientist that experiments on his own kids.

Mariko has gone through a lot, but thankfully her father managed to eventually calm her down. It was quite an emotional scene.

Nanako has finally become even more courageous, and has quit the sorority, right in front of all its members, which has brought shock within the sorority. Nanako should be proud.

What a strong episode. Starting from Nanako refusing to go on yet another errand, proceeding with the speech about loving yourself, Nanako standing up to Miya-sama again, and finally living Sorority. Simply brilliant!

Finally, Nanako grow a backbone, that reaction from Sorority just satisfying, what the use of Sorority if it not protecting its member. i can't see much advantage being in it.

Mariko father is worthless ass father, poor Mariko having that kind of family.
