A pretty nice episode, and a weird twist at the end where Triela may have been involved in Mario's mafia stuff with child trafficking.

Most powerful episode yet. The fight scene wasn't all that good though.

I liked this episode. Not much fighting, but Triela's background was pretty deep.

This episode really tugged at my heart.
The relationship between the girls and their mentors are becoming more complex, which makes it more interesting.
Even though I found the subject matter revoluting at first, there has not been an episode in this anime where I have not been deeply moved and I'm staying with it to see how it all pans out.

Beautifully executed episode, probably the best one so far. Also, Triela is a completely different character from what I envisioned her from her character designs and what I had seen of her up to this point. That's a good thing by the way.

All I can say is wow. This is my favorite episode so far and I have loved all of them in their own way. Its a deep anime. It's not about the action at all. I enjoy the fighting scenes because they feel realistic. No being blown away by pistol bullets and every shot counts. Great anime so far and definitely one of my favorites.

This anime is amazing. It's a perfect combination of action and drama, with some comedy elements.

Seconded.

If you were a little girl and you had been assaulted for a whole night(not to mention the dead bodies of your family around you),your uterus would have been taken out as well,i think.I am not very fluent in biology so i could be wrong too but you get my point. What's more,Henrietta is plenty kawai even without uterus, she(as a cyborg) would never need it anyway.

Any theories about his shock on that last scene?

Yeah, this episode was just as great the second time. That english dub, especially for the girls, is terrible. I'm switching back to Japanese.

I think the english dub is fine. I've heard worse. Anyway, great episode. And guys, this is not an ACTION anime. There is action yes, but there's more to it than that.

I haven't heard the English dub, but if you want bad dub, watch Love Hina.

And I liked this episode. It was a deeper episode than the ones prior.

wow, the guy seemed a bit shocked when she mentioned Amsterdam D: surely not her father?!
another great episode, watching this anime as a drama and not really expecting much action is so much better.. the relationships between the girls and their mentors are much more complex, and if the girls past are going on Triela's then its a very dark anime indeed, really liking it so far, the past two episodes have been quite heartbreaking!

No, not her father. Just a lamb trafficker.

It's fascinating. Even though the girls have been brainwashed and had their memories erased, they're still free to inquire about their pasts and appear to get straight answers about it. They're not shocked by these revelations. They don't have doubts like in the Bourne movies. They just deal with the information matter-of-factly, as though it happened to some other person. Which, I suppose, it did.

Also the fact that they still have their own distinct personalities. They're not robots. They follow their orders to the letter, but they still seem to have free will outside of those parameters.

didint think we would hear about their periods and to bad henrietta wont be able to have kids in the futuer. That is if they let her live that long. Also seems like the douch bag of the show abuses rico. Hmmm guessing she was apart of the child trafficking and that was a nice little moment at the end.

They removed Henrietta's uterus. Rico was bleeding from the mouth and acted like it's not a big deal. Damn it T____T

The mafia goons didn't even stand a chance against Triela and she wasn't even at 100%.

While the dilemma regarding Triela is interesting (and I believe she's better off now, as opposed to where she came from), the conclusion was unsatisfying. An episode not being satisfying would be perfectly in line with what this show is about, given the disturbing premise, but this time it tried to frame things as heartwarming, even though nothing actually heartwarming happened.

I don't like that Herscher didn't have to change anything about his conduct. The girl thinks she doesn't even have anyone to ask for help regarding her periods, but now she just lets Herscher off the hook for everything, because apparently she should be content with teddy bears.

Jean, Rico is not a malfunctioning TV set that you can fix by slapping it. Go sit in the corner. And fuck yourself lmao

That's a good point. Part of what makes them feel so alien is their casual detachment. Not to say they're not human, of course.

i was unexpectedly caught off guard when i saw rico's mouth bleeding, something she took so plainly as "my brother disciplined me today" made me surprised and sad. it's super interesting how she's so emotionally detached from the incident, or anything at all really.
this was the first episode where i almost could not stop myself from watching. lord, i was about this close to convincing myself to just throw caution to the wind and keep on procrastinating by finishing the episode. for once though, i did stop it midway and unfortunately because i did, the episode wasn't as riveting since my attention was gone by the time i came back.
so.. like nobody helped triela on her period? that shit ain't anything to joke about

I really like this episode and it seems that Triela was involved in that Mafia trafficking incident. I thought there will be something bad that will happen to Triela but she got hurt and I wonder what happened to her gunshots? Like, it didn't show if they are treated. Henrietta is so cute

Haha period xD
She can tell that to Mario but not to Hirscher, maybe be hinting something

Judging from Mario's reaction, his daughter might be Triela?

Seems like every girls are getting their own "introduction"
It's pretty nice, good to know their natures before the real story starts

It's been awhile since I've seen mention of a period in anime. Granted, this is an older series. Crazy part being that Triela still managed to wreck those mafia guys even after admitting it was a particularly bad one.

I guess the bigger deal is the fact that Henrietta had her uterus removed. These girls really do get butchered for the sake of this organization. I guess that's why it's almost funny to see the "Brothers" tiptoe around them. They'll go to lash out and then have the most regretful looks on their faces. It's certainly an awkward dynamic.

I'm not entirely sure if Triela is, in fact, Mario's daughter or if she was just potentially one of the victims of the scheme he was involved with. It sorta seems like the latter.
