Just saw it at Fantasia. Going by the way it was almost full, I'm gonna go and assume other users here did too.
Well it was pretty good. A good retelling of the arc, and Lol that ending !
And Gin leaving a cloudy message at thr end which may or may not have been hinting at a sequel for the movie....or anime series.
So what do you guys think, will there be a sequel ? Will the W and B brothers make Ninjas and Soul Reaper movies ?
Dun dun dun !

I also watched at Fantasia. I liked the extra scenes especially the ending of the movie and the fight scene where Gin and Katsura fight all those Amanto was pretty neat.

Really great movie. Perfect. Loved all the fight scenes too :D. Well Sunrise confirmed that Gintama will continue so I think its for the anime series.

Finally got to see it. It stuck fairly close to the original with some great additions, and really amazing animation. Loved the Elizabeth cannon and the Gintoki and Katsura fighting scene, plus the comedy at the end which was kind of like a sequel to episode 50.

I'll have to re-watch it subbed, but there's no way I can't give it a 10.

I've just watched it, and imo TV type fits Gintama more than Movie. I think that TV series is definitely epic and very entrertaining, can't say same about movie.
Don't even know why, Benizahura arc is pretty good, but it's kinda hard to watch and enjoy Gintama without such intreresting characters as Madao, guys from Shinsengumi an so on... Yeah, final scene was very funny, and it will be nice to watch another movie about Shinsengumi, but as for me I'm looking forward to 2nd season of TV series because it's my favorite one.
So, my score is 8 out of 10.

Just downloaded the movie and wow, just wow. If you haven't seen this movie and thought that the Benizakura arc was already awesome, it simply blows it away.

Loved the production values. Still a bit too much mouth flapping, too much of the blacksmith, and too many inner monologues. All around solid movie, though, even if 95% of the soundtracks were recycled. 8/10

A bit disappointed there weren't many new sequences, but I still loved it. The best bit was easily where they break the fourth wall BIG TIME at the end and the Warner Brothers show up. Absolute genius. Still wish they would make 'Madao - Road of Gintama' though!

Just realized how much I've missed the gang after watching this. And soon enough, the (anime) series begins anew.

Shame, Gintama hasn't quite reached Lupin-the-3rd status yet -- as proven by not having an annual hour and a half TV special. But surely, getting a movie isn't such a bad way to start.
HAPPY SCANS!

Gotta agree on the sequences. It was cool to see Kamui, though I was hoping for some interaction between him and Bansai. But whatever, I loved it as much as I always do.

The redone fight scene with the Amanto and the Warner Brothers are the best bits in the movie. Seeing the whole cast at the end of movie fighting and yelling is just making me anxious for the new season to start.

The action scenes were definitely over-the-top-awesome.
It's been quite a while since I've watched the Benizakura arc so about half of it was fresh to me. It was still an excellent watch though; gotta love the Warner Brothers logo thing pop up like three times.

I wish they would do another movie though, the one with Kamui and the underground thing stuff thing, yeah.

That was pure awesome! I can't believe it's already been a year since it came out.. feels like yesterday, of course would have distressed me to know there's no more anime.. and today is happy day, since it's just the beginning after all :D

Ah Gintama really has everything I look for in anime, or any show in general, srsly my favorite ever. What a Gintama day this was! I'm so stoked.

same here.

At last we get to see War-san and ner-san! lol....the extra scenes at the end was just brilliant! Gintama~ never disappointing.

Great fight scenes and the animation was just excellent though wanted few extra scenes. Most probably they didn't want to spoil the Gintama'

I totally loved the movie, Gintoki and Katsura were so cool while fighting the Harusame (space pirates? xD), a lot coole than in the original anime arc if u ask me :) I was happy that there were some new scenes and the ending with the big fight about a "second movie" was reallt funny, LOL at war-san + ner-san _O_

I would like a second movie but well the new season is airing now so that's even better if u ask me! :D

Good remake. Couldn't beat the original though; I have to say that the pacing was something I didn't enjoy. I was remembering all the funny jokes that they skipped, especially the part where Gintoki didn't want Otae-san to read the jump :')

It was well done though. So I enjoyed. I couldn't help but laugh at Takasugi though because of Baka Ojii :D

I just rewatched this in english and it was pretty interesting. Chris Patton and Luci Christian are perfect choices for Gintoki and Kagura. But i cant say the same for most of the other cast members. Not sure if im just so used to hearing the Japanese voices or what but most of the other cast seems out of place especially Shinpachi. I liked how they changed some lines but there were some changes i didnt like. Overall the dub was decent and of course the sub will always be infinitely better. Id love to see this series dubbed mainly for Chris and Luci. it was great hearing my top favorite english VA's voice my top favorite characters. also it will be interesting to see how they handle some of the ridiculous scenes that take place during the tv series. Sentai said they might dub the series depending on the movie sales, so go buy this awesome movie if only to support the creators.
