Fumetsu no Anata e

An Orb, known only as It, is cast to Earth to be observed from afar. Capable of changing forms from beings whose reflections It captures, It first becomes a rock and then, due to the rising temperature, moss.

It does not move until one snowy day, a wolf at death's door barely crosses by. When It takes the animal's form, It attains awareness of its consciousness and starts to wander with an unclear destination in mind. Soon, It comes across the wolf's master—a young boy waiting for his tribe to return from a paradise abundant with fish and fruit in the south. Although the boy is lonely, he still hopes those whom he holds dear in his memories have not forgotten him and that he will reunite with them one day.

The boy wants to explore new surroundings and decides to abandon his home with It to find the paradise using the traces his tribe left behind. However, with a heavily injured body and no sight of his elder comrades, what will become of the boy?

Fumetsu no Anata e illustrates the story of an immortal being experiencing humanity, meeting all types of people in many places throughout time.

TYE is a story that
dispassiionately-to-emotionally-back-to-dispassionately examinations the Circle ♻F Life, in circular fashion, thru the life of Fushi. Or should we say the lives of Fushi?

TYE reminds us: Everything perishes. Humans avoid this truth out of necessity, in part, so that we can live our lives without the oppressive gravity of constant fear. For this reason, people tend to be optimistic about the future, but part of that is denial & wilful blindness. Our journeys have a destination, or final stop. Along the way to the end of the line, many of us experience true joy and beauty, ... but without exception, there is a time when each of us must make camp with pain. Heartbreak, awe, tragedy & wonder usher each one of us to our solitary exit. It is the natural order of things from here to··· eternity? TYE shows how we live on, even though our bodies will not.

Unavoidably, TYE hurts at times. Our lives, our wants, desires, loves, aspirations, our money, possessions, and work are a small spark; a wisp of a flicker in the flame of eternity. TYE asks us to pause and look at the wide angle view of life on 🌍, as the narrow focus can be agonizing. It reaffirms that we must all submit: Everyone meets ultimate truth in The Eternity Beyond. TYE represents how we can become eternal in this 3D world - through the lives of those who follow us. To be eternally on 🌍 one must pass down h/h essence to the next generation. We pass down skills and knowledge, but most of all, we propagate character and love... or hate. The extraordinary among us will bequeath wisdom.

Fushi flickers to life on earth somehow, somewhen, and somewhere on the icy tundra. Fushi is 100% cold ignorant. He knows nothing. He is an empty, but mystical mug (tundra frosted, even!) waiting to be filled with the knowledge of 🌍. Viewers study him as he studies life. A large, white sled dog is the first life that Fushi encounters, but only briefly: Its earthly expiration occurs as Fushi approaches. It's startling to watch Fushi inhabit the dog's body. Being in dog-form allows Fushi to follow canine instinct back to its owner, and Fushi lives a quiet hearthside existence for a time. The solitary dwelling becomes even lonelier as the isolated master eventually passes on to his eternity. Fushi absorbs his persona next. Fushi has now absorbed two distinct personas. He is able to manifest either of their forms at will, which is especially useful when danger arises. When a person leaves h/h body in Fushi's presence, he is able to become that person in appearance and skills without restraints. In that way, the people he cares about will eternally be with him.

Fushi opens up to friendship, but he's also exposed to the cruelty that overflows on earth. Wanderers may attract new friends, but they they will certainly attract destroyers. At the same time, he learns from March, a young tree-climbing girl, that pears🍐 are delicious. Not much time passes until Fushi meets his enemy: an evil force that takes the form of giant roots, called Nokkers. They reach up from underground and wreak havoc. Fushi knows he's got problems when he sees them destroy a mansion right in the middle of tea time. It's not clear if "Nokkers" is the name Fushi's nemesis is given because of the flailing limbs that will knock people around, or do they represent evil knocking at Fushi's door, or is it a b👀b joke amongst the writers? Clearly they're knocking Fushi around to intimidate him. By this time, Fushi has opened up to love and friendship, which are sweeter than 🍐🍐🍐. To fight this threat, he will need to hone his skills and strength to the maximum, while eating enough to stay strong.

While we see the life-and-death cycle spin in the show, the sense is that nobody's ever gone, because souls go on forever. We watch an innocent being, one who has knowledge of nothing, grow to choose what is good - to choose the difficult path - rather than to please himself. Viewers who have planned a memorial know that what matters is how the person lives on in each of us. Nobody that cares, cares how much money the deceased made, nor about any of the deceased's successes at work; not really. People know that what's important is how someone touched h/h heart and changed h/h a little bit for the better, rather than for the worse. The show is a metaphor for how we live on in the memories of others, for good or for ill.

TYE has as much promise as it has 🍐🍐🍐, but it's unfinished. Without knowing the source material, TYE is too obtuse to fully judge. There's a lot of sadness, and we don't know the purpose yet. We don't know much about Fushi's enemy either. For example, the Nokkers' motivations - if there even are any - as well as the force behind them are completely unknown. Shield yourself. Don't get too attached to anybody in the show - in h/h original form, at least.

We will see friends and others breathe their last, but we will also see Fushi breathe in the exultation of their souls and breathe out a living memorial to each one, by way of the treasures they left behind. They are not forgotten, they may well save the world, and death is not the end.

Age 14+ IMDB has this as M-rated, which may be a typo. There's no nudity or anything sexual in S1. I don't recall any offensive language, and the violence is, at most, 6/10. None of it is gratuitous. The show has heart. When somebody is lost to us inside the repeating cycle, it's sad. It's unavoidable, but over and above that, it's sad. This is a healthy thing; It's an appropriate response that will reinforce empathy.

Recommendations: There's nothing I've seen that's quite like this. Forest of Piano-8 is about overcoming odds and has a dreamlike feel. Land Of The Lustrous 8, is even more dreamlike. YOUR LIE IN APRIL-9 is an innocent child left alone who must figure out how to live his life. Vinland Saga-10 is a gripping commentary on the meaning of life in a harsh world. Watership Down-8.5 is about banding together to overcome enormous odds, and Violet Evergarden-9.5 features an innocent girl who is misused by malefactors and then shown how to live properly by kind people.

Mixed Feelings

Pain, just pain man.

Its one of those animes that make you rethink about life. Being immortal isn't so fun. You have to witness the struggles of other people that die.
Idk what to say, I'm just speechless.
In this anime, you can't even love a character. As soon as you like them, they die. It is stinging good. It hurts you but you cant get enough of it. You continue to watch it even though it hurts. I dont know if I can even watch the 2nd season. Can we just not have emotional deaths?

I dropped this 2 times because I could not understand the 1st ... ep. But after watching a youtube video, it peaked my interest once again. I dont regret watching it.

Its good, I have to agree it. This can be considered one of those "S tier animes". But it hurts. It would definitely not be on top of the anime list to recommend watching but I would not stop others from watching it. If you are trying to watch it, grab your tissue and be ready. Because its pain, just pain.
I apologize for a bad review, Im not good at it. I just wanted to share my opinion.

This anime is probably the biggest fall-off I have ever seen.

The first few episodes were genuinely some of the most interesting beginnings of a show. The concept and story was very unique and fantastic to watch. An honest 10/10 show from the get-go. Then it fell off. Fell off hard. It managed to go from a 10/10 to a low 4/10 by the end. The story branched off into weird stuff and no longer had what made it so good. It became a boring show with predictable scenes, eye-rolling annoying characters, and bad/lame stories.

Highly disappointing show and very frustrating to see what could've been a ... masterpiece fall off so hard.
I would not recommend wasting your time watching this show except for the first few episodes.
