After five years of harboring unspoken feelings, high-schooler Taiju Ooki is finally ready to confess his love to Yuzuriha Ogawa. Just when Taiju begins his confession however, a blinding green light strikes the Earth and petrifies mankind around the world—turning every single human into stone.

Several millennia later, Taiju awakens to find the modern world completely nonexistent, as nature has flourished in the years humanity stood still. Among a stone world of statues, Taiju encounters one other living human: his science-loving friend Senkuu, who has been active for a few months. Taiju learns that Senkuu has developed a grand scheme—to launch the complete revival of civilization with science. Taiju's brawn and Senkuu's brains combine to forge a formidable partnership, and they soon uncover a method to revive those petrified.

However, Senkuu's master plan is threatened when his ideologies are challenged by those who awaken. All the while, the reason for mankind's petrification remains unknown.

Dr. Stone is an adventure-shounen series with lots of educational stuff incorporated inside the series. Naturally, it could be quite difficult to watch for some people who are not intrigued with science stuff. I highly recommend you guys to watch the first episode and see whether you like where the plot is going or not.

Over the course of the series, my opinion changed drastically from what I thought a boring-educational series into a roller-coaster ride of emotions. Hilarious, thrilling, touching, all in a single series. Not to forget, the plot and characters itself are meticulously made with perfect development pace. Animations are amazing ...

Mixed Feelings
This show is a little dumb.
First off, despite the literally dozens of reminders in every single episode that they're doing science, the characters are actually only ever doing engineering, not science. There's a big difference. This ignorant confusion of the two things persists in dr. stone season 2. It's obvious the people behind this show have never put their hands to either science or engineering and get everything they know from TV and comic books.
The moral of the story being preached by the main character about scientific curiosity being intrinsic to humans is shown to be a big fat joke as soon as he meets ...

The first 5 episodes were some of the best that I have ever seen in a shounen anime.

Giving initial narrative control to someone who isn't the protagonist was intriguing. When Tsukasa was "the show" the show was among the best anime. It's always fun when a villain is principle based and not just anti-the-hero. It's even better that Tsukasa is actually right about how the downfall of society was property over people. And his willingness to achieve anarchs-primitivism by morally dark grey means makes him all the more compelling.

How did the show go from good to bad? I'm not entirely certain. Said another way, ...
