Synopsis

The world has become a slaughtering ground for the Crimson Denizens, mysterious beings from a parallel universe who thrive on the life energy of humans. These merciless murderers only leave behind scant remainders of souls called "Torches," which are mere residues that will eventually be destroyed, along with the very fact of the victims' existence from the minds of the living. In an ambitious endeavor to put an end to this invisible, hungry massacre, warriors called Flame Hazes relentlessly fight these monsters.

One fateful day, Yuuji Sakai ceases to be a regular high schooler—he becomes trapped in a crevice of time and is suddenly attacked by a Denizen. Coming to his rescue just in the nick of time is a nameless hunter who seems no different from an ordinary young girl except for her blazing eyes and burning crimson hair. However, before Yuuji can learn anything more about his situation, he discovers that he has already been reduced to a Torch—merely a scrap of memory waiting to be extinguished.

This is absolutely beautiful. By far one of the very best anime I've ever seen.

This story has well developed characters and adds just enough on the side to make everything work. The plot moves along smoothly and I find no gaps. There are no dropped plot lines. It's really just been one of the best rides I've taken through a show.

The way the show begins and immediately dives into the progression of the story with ease is just fascinating to me. There is no hang up on any one bad guy then two episodes of the time, which keeps things fresh and they didn't get ...

Mixed Feelings
(Impressions on Season 2 & 3 included - Spoiler-free)
Take my review as a friend suggestion: Don't start Shakugan no Shana if brought here by its fame.

I'm not an hater, I actually loved many parts of the show (season 2 and 3 included), but it's not what I hoped it would be.

Episode 1 is almost perfect, the prelude to a magnificent world building and interesting plot development, but sadly nothing happens for over 40 episodes.
The first 2 seasons left me with the impressions of a simple love comedy, while the battles had little to no effect in developing the story.
In fact at the moment you start ...

Lame ass over rated piece of shit anime with lots and lots of flaws appearing every episode. The only good thing about this anime is the first episode. Take my advice and don't waste your time on this shit.

The anime tries to keep you watching by using the usual romance slice of life anime shenanigans but nothing deep or masterful in here. In fact, the series seems so poorly planned later on as there are so many contradictions emerging one after another. Absolutely horrible experience tbh.

The music and soundtracks are good but they always use the same soundtrack at the same ...
