Both Anime are featuring a male protagonist encountering a girl with supernatural abilities. They also share the setting in an another world and are produced by J.C. Staff. Merry also kinda reminds me of Shana
Both anime focus on a fairly normal boy who meets an extraordinary girl who's not from the world. They spend their time fighting monsters from the other world while falling in love with each other. Each of them have a heavy focus on the supernatural aspect. I don't think either of them are that good, but if you like one, you'll probably like the other.

It presents two different worlds with a lot happening in them, showing good battling evil. The fantasy theme on these anime was great, and the lead male are kinda alike with their boy-next door look.. The lead females are great.

Both anime series share the similar plot of fighting in a different world with a female partner. Additionally, there is action, drama, and comedy.
Although Yumekui Merry lacks romance, it makes it up with its unusual plot and later on, plot twists.
Recommended for both Shana and Merry fans.
Both series incorporates fantasy and slice of life elements into its tale. The storys focuses on , a high school boy who inadvertently become involved in anconflict between forces of balance and imbalance in existence or simply said beatwin real world and the other. Both are must see if you are into fantasy and slice of life animes
