Isekai Shokudou

How much do you love watching a hungry person shine with bliss as they enjoy an outstanding meal? Your answer is probably also how much you'll enjoy Isekai Shokudou.

Most of the time when a story goes far off the tried and true paths of the countless already told it ends up tangled and stumbling but this is a wonderful exception. Seems odd how all it centers around is showing a glimpse of some human, elf, dwarf or other being and their struggles and joys in another world and culminates in their finding of a mysterious door that takes them to a fine but affordable little ... restaurant in our world where they can forget about their troubles for a while and have the most enjoyable meals of their lives.

At first it just seems like a random bunch of customers but as their numbers increase so do their occasional little connections with each other. Giving a single side character the spotlight for much of a whole episode is something very few animes manage to do well but here they can grow on you amazingly fast and become a beloved part of the background in just 15 minutes. While the glimpses of the other world are spread too far and wide to overlap very often it still feels like they belong in the same world and it is beautiful, I found myself glued to the screen with far more enthusiasm than I had expected.

There are occasional factual and continuity errors that could be annoying for really observant viewers, fortunately the mistakes are small enough that even if noticed they're reasonably easy to forgive. Lastly the voice acting and sound in general are terrific, which is probably an important part of why everything connects so well.

This anime is Shokugeki no Soma, but with no foodgasm and a more mature theme.

This anime comes to a slice-of-life with a twist of an inter-dimensional door, which serves (see what I did there) to introduce various characters and their unique story-lines.

In comparison to Shokugeki no Soma, there is not so much hype towards woohing the audience with super elaborate foods or to make the chef be OP. Instead, the chef is a chef who cooks normal food to characters that have never had such food, which is probably how many of us felt when we try a new food that we end up enjoying ... so much.

In a genre that is exploited to every last drop, "Creativity" is a word I would never associate with any Isekai show to a point that it sounds awfully oxymoronic. But even so, once in awhile, there will be an anime that defiles the odds. And I believe the 2017 summer little gem Isekai Shokudou is one of those anime that creatively blends isekai elements to its merit.

One special day a week, every races in all kind of world will have a chance to enter Nekoya, a special restaurant run by a masterful chef. There they can all enjoy a good evening with wonderful foods ... that they never have a chance to eat. And thus, that is the story we, the viewers, will follow.

With a story like that, Isekai Shokudou is definitely a character-driven show. While its main cast is small, which consists of the master chef, a homeless elf waitress and also another waitress in disguise of a powerful black dragon, the supporting cast is quite large and absolutely amazing. To me, they play a part as big as the main ones which leads to the selling point of this show, its wonderful interaction between every characters.

What separates the characters of this show from the usual tropes we've seen in countless anime is they're given proper personalities with proper back story to solidify it and as a result, they have proper and natural characterization. Plus, their interaction with each other is funny and interesting.

As expected from a modern anime, the color tone of this show is bright, adding to the cheerfulness nature of the anime. But the characters designs are quite standard. The soundtrack of this anime is also forgettable imo and only one or two tracks sounds really good.

Wrapping up, it's a good show to kill time and If you have 4 hours to spare, I would recommend Restaurant from another world.

After reading the synopsis for Isekai Shokudou, I expected to end up not liking it at all but that's not the case now that I've completed it. If you're looking for a new Slice of Life anime to watch then this would have most of the things you would expect from the genre. There is little to no story progression here but the way the story is presented, with each customer often getting there own little spotlight when they are introduced, makes the story a little more intriguing than your usual Slice of Life anime. Speaking of characters, I think one of the main selling ... points of the series is the characters. Learning about their quirks, backstory or even just what they were doing on the day prior to reaching to the restaurant is entertaining to see from week to week. Another strong selling point for Isekai Shokudou is how great the art is, in particular how great the food looks. I almost always make sure I have something in front of me to eat when I settle in to watch an episode. I then subsequently want to shed tears of disappointment when whatever I'm eating at the time isn't at the level of what Tenshu prepared that episode.
Isekai Shokudou is a relaxing anime you can end off your day with and is one I can recommend.

Out of all of the serials I watched this season, Restaurant to Another World would have to be one of my favourites. It was feel-good and dangerously hunger-inducing.

In the corner of a local shopping district lies a Western-style restaurant called Yōshuku no Nekoya (Western Cuisine Cat Restaurant). During its business hours, Monday through Friday, it serves normal food to normal folks. The restaurant is normally closed on weekends and holidays. However, on Saturdays it secretly opens its doors to very unique and unusual clientele from some very unique and unusual locales.

The most disappointing part of this entire series was the severe lack of kitty cats. ... The restaurant’s name has the word “cat” in it. The least they could have given me was a little feline mascot!

I just had to get that off of my chest. Aside from that, it was such a fun and delectable series. It’s set up in an anecdotal means with episodes that don’t connect plot-wise. The story itself is simple and straightforward: it’s about a fancy restaurant that caters to diverse, fantastical races from varying planets, and the different ways that these folks come across the Nekoya.

Aside from the delicious and breathtaking dishes that are served at this restaurant, my favourite part of the show consisted of the characters. Even with it being episodic in nature, the anime does a phenomenal job of being character rich and exhibiting stories that share motifs of strength, overcoming grief, loneliness, and insecurities, just to name a few. The experiences that so many of the clientele undergo vary from light-hearted to tender to deeply emotional. There’s an underlying warmth in the hardships they all over-came during their lives that I found to be very comforting and inspirational. Their trials and tribulations are reflected in the foods that they come to love dearly.

For example, we have a lion who was beaten and taken into captivity as a slave where he was forced to fight for his freedom. His favourite dish is katsudon. It’s a dish with lightly fried meat, usually pork, over rice with eggs. The dish helps rejuvenate him and helps him to gain his strength. Thus providing him an advantage, which he uses to obtain his freedom much faster than anyone believed possible. His story also provides a lesson in not judging someone by their appearances as monsters can be hidden within even the most genuine looking folks.

There is another story that revolves around a young girl who used to visit the restaurant with her grandfather where they’d eat parfaits. After he passes away, she falls into depression and her physical health begins to suffer. She’s a very lonely young woman. One day after coming across the magical door, she’s taken to Nekoya. The memories associated with the restaurant help inspire her to get healthier. She begins smiling and laughing a lot more, and the overall quality of her life improves drastically. That was one of the episodes that resonated the most with me.

So, the stories in each episode truly make the series worth watching. It’s an all-around feel-good, heart-warming anime. If that’s not enough to peak your interest maybe the animation will be. It’s beautiful, especially where the food is concerned. Every single dish they showed, even if it was something that I’m allergic to or cannot eat like pork, made my mouth water. I made the mistake of watching this on an empty stomach one evening. My tummy roared louder than my cat! However, when I watched it after having dinner with a full belly, I still found myself desperately hungry for whatever was being shared in the episode.

I think my biggest complaint, aside from there being no kitty cats, is the mystery behind Nekoya. How did it come to exist in a way that allows it to reach different dimensions, as well as different planets? What is the secret behind this unique capability? A part of me wishes it was discussed in the serial, but another part of me really appreciates the enigma. In a way, it adds to the charm.

It may be not super spectacular, but it’s a decent show that is worth watching, especially if you’re in the market for something that is uncomplicated, savory, and compassionate.

While it may not seem like much as you start watching, it's actually quite a relaxing anime to watch. Though I will admit, after a couple of episodes in, it did make me get invested in the characters in general, which made me just to want to watch it more.

It also gave me the want to watch more animes where the main plot is about or somewhat about food in general. I'd love to watch more food animes, and it's all because of this.

Not to mention the food as always looks stunning, and the opening is just lovely. Lovely as in I would more than ... likely listen to it over and over again. A great tune.

I just personally got with it not that long ago, even though, I'm very late for this review with IRL and personal stuff going. However, the character designs, the backstories of the characters, the soundtrack, the setting through out the whole anime, and the whole environment is all top notch.

I haven't personally binge-watched a good anime like this for a few years. This is one my new favorite animes. Being a complete foodie, Isekai Shokudou has definitely made me hungry. All in seriousness though, don't watch this anime when you're hungry. It does have some amazing ideas for making dinner.

10/10 would watch the ... anime again!

Isekai is a really trending genre, but at the same time it's becoming a triesome genre, so introducing this anime.
There's nothing much to say in this anime other than it's a restaurant who appears on another world where the customers are knights orcs fairies etc.
there's nothing much into it other than that and it's getting repetitive, but the fun factor here in this anime is how the customers would do to go to the restaurant.
Some will hold a tournament some will find it at random, some will be suspicious, but once they tasted the food their reactions are fun to watch.
However that's the ... only good point of the story, the rest are just foregttable, even the main characters like Aletta and Kuro the demon girls and the manager, we never get to know any of them and if we do they don't matter on the story and neither did the customers I mean at least there's 1 customer that we can get invested at right? wrong!!.
nonetheless I still did enjoy the anime.
the art is good but for an isekai anime it's pretty generic, and the same goes with the sound.
I don't recommend to binge watch this becoming there's no real plot and it's repetitive, but if you like light hearted themed anime then this might be for you.

Isekai Shodukou, let's hear some food reviews from creatures from another world!

What I found interesting in Isekai Shokudou was not the genres in particular, but how the balance between the cooking and isekai genres was well maintained. Another point is that, even though the characters were not closely related, they are still indirectly related to one another, giving the show much more substance than just tossing out new characters in each episode.
The plot in itself is already a gem. I find myself content with how intricate it actually is (but the base of it all just revolves around a restaurant, as the title implies). ... It might not seem much at first, but it has a lot of information that you could dig deeper into. In other words, most of the episodes contain at least several pieces of information that could pique your interest. Also, the storyline can keep you entertained for a while even though it is a slice of life anime.

Regardless of the things mentioned earlier, the conceptual framework of the parallel universe has little or insufficient information that could give a solid foundation regarding the lore of their 'fantasy' world. It only tackles the surface of something that could have been a whole new level of Isekai. Either way, regardless of its ambiguity when it comes to the general behavior and beliefs of the creatures, it is still acceptable to the point that it feels quite relevant, considering that the audience has already seen other Isekai shows, or at least thought of a parallel universe.

Another wonderful thing is the art; it has this certain professional feel to it, so simple yet so refined. I cannot fully express how much I appreciate the quality of the artwork and animation of it. Although it is not perfect because there are several frames that require a bit of understanding (which would usually go unnoticed, unless one is very nitpicky).
In addition to that, the sound component of this anime, in general, is appropriate for the mood required in the scenes. ....

-might not be entertaining to binge watch for some (although I actually finished it in one go)

To sum it up, the show doesn't need the audience to have knowledge about random jargon and such... therefore, the viewers can easily enjoy the show just because of its entertainment value-- and of course, don't forget to look forward to the mouth-watering food in every episode!

Going into this I was expecting a ripoff of Food Wars, instead what I got was a restaurant filled with interesting people and food you'd definitely want to try.

Story (6/10)

The story is the weakest aspect, but I don't think a story was really necessary here, the episodes are just random interactions with characters from a fantasy world, who happen to discover a mysterious door that leads them to a restaurant, which makes food from our world and each of these characters have a specific dish they like, that's pretty much it.
At first I thought this was a little dull, because even the more ... prominent characters don't get much focus, however the more I watched, the more I started to enjoy it. Mainly because I liked the amount of characters that were introduced showing how expansive this fantasy world was, along with the excellent reactions and descriptions they give for the dish they try.
Also if you came here thinking there would be an end goal to this show, there really isn't, the last episode just felt like another episode and despite ending on a happy note, I didn't feel fully satisfied.

Characters (7/10)

The characters were definitely an interesting part of the show, although with the amount that there is, it's kinda hard to keep track of them.
The MC's are Tenshu, Aletta and Kuro, these 3 characters are the ones who work in the restaurant and provide the other interesting beings their meals, however each of these 3 are different in personalities, Tenshu is the man in charge so his personality came off as wise, but also humble since he cared about the customers enjoyment instead of money.
Aletta, a half demon girl who doesn't have a very easy life, is a waitress in the restaurant, she is a very happy girl who doesn't really let much get her down, but she is also fascinated with the food that Tenshu makes and how different it is from her own world.
Kuro, a dragon who also becomes a waitress, doesn't show up until after the halfway point, yet the screentime she still has made her a relatively interesting character, she rarely spoke with her mouth, instead using her mind which did make her a little intimidating, she does become a little more open to the others by the end.
Now all the other characters aren't memorable, but they do hold some worth to the show, I do like how each character who discovers the restaurant have a backstory leading up to it, which shows how big this fantasy world is.

Art (9/10)

The is definitely the strongest aspect of the whole show, the detailing of the food was top notch and made me want to have those same dishes, it's kinda funny how anime can make food more delicious than it is in real life.
The design of the characters were pretty good too, each person looked different and unique, plus I liked the variety of characters too, Dragons, Demons, Sirens, Fairies, Dwarfs, Lizardmen, Elves, Mermaids, along with the normal humans this fantasy world had a lot to offer.

Sound (8/10)

The op strangely enough was damn enjoyable, definitely one of the better ops I've heard this year, it had that fantasy feel to it, while also having a catchy tune to keep you interested, the soundtrack wasn't too bad either, it had some bits that stood out to me like the Siren's piece which nicely fitted the moment.

Extra's:

The mystery element of the show was done well, since it captured the reactions of new customers who had no idea what this place was, along with their reaction to the food that they have never encountered before, it was fun seeing how these strange people would react to something they had no idea existed.
The comedy was ok, I could definitely tell this show was desperately trying not to ripoff Food Wars orgasm scenes, it did well despite a few moments where some of the characters did have a moment like that, I also enjoyed some of the arguments the customers had with each other, as they kept arguing which dish was the best, hell most of an episode was devoted to an argument about Sandwiches, which seemed pretty stupid, but looking back on it, it was funny.

Overall this was a nice and simple anime, if you're a fan of Food Wars or just food in general you might enjoy this, although I would recommend watching this after you have filled you're belly, otherwise the show would make you get up and cook something just to satisfy yourself.

An amazing soundtrack, interesting plot, great art, and high enjoyment levels make this anime a good recommendation to my friends. Isekai Shokudou has AMAZING music in my opinion that immerses you into the isekai kind of mood. Not only does it get the mood right, it also is extremely catchy.

The plot had many holes within it, but I do give credit for what they’ve done. Each episode had its own seperate story with every character, that eventually tied to the main plot. I give respect for the effort it took to do that, but some storylines got a little boring at parts and were very ... generic or sloppily pieced together. The good storylines were humorous, engaging, or just interesting.

The art in this anime was pretty good. The exhilarating colors really made the restaurant feel “other worldly” added with all the fantasy-like characters entering into the diner. The art style was very clean, pretty, and well done to make the food and characters look very nice. The food wasn’t on the level of “Shokugeki no Soma” but it still was enough to make my tummy rumble, especially with the detailed sounds made for many, many different sound effects.

I lately have been finding anime much less enjoyable than when I first started watching and being excited at the end of the show, but Isekai Shokudou has revived that feeling. On the last episode of Isekai Shokudou, I felt that same excitement from back then, and had that rush of dopamine into my brain from the satisfaction of this anime. I suggest to watch this show for something a little bit different from typical shows(even though it’s just another isekai).

Restaurant to Another World has a pretty basic premise: Once a week, an ordinary restaurant from our world becomes accessible to a different world. Said world is home to just about everything one would expect from a fantasy world: sorcery and knights, elves and dwarves, treasure hunters and fairies, dragons and demons, monsters and royalty, etc. But every week, these many individuals of varying backgrounds come together at the Western Restaurant Nekoya and enjoy a good, heartwarming meal.

First, let's get my constructive criticism out of the way. As stated above, this series is not anything revolutionary. And if over the top action, drama, or comedy ... are what you crave, you're not going to find it here. In addition, the opening theme, while catchy, doesn't really capture the tone of the show as well as the ending theme or most of the songs used throughout the show. Most episodes are also pretty formulaic, and while it does get toned down more as the series progresses, there is a fair bit of fan service (something that I'll admit isn't bad in and of itself) that can feel a bit out of place at times.

Now that that is all out of the way, let's get onto why I adore this show so much. The art style is incredibly beautiful, with each character being distinct and a delight to look at. In addition, each character, while not complex, have memorable personalities and spark great chemistry with one another. The show is also really good at world-building, with each episode giving the viewer more insight into the history, politics, and culture of the other world that Nekoya is accessible to every Saturday. As for the food served in the restaurant...the attention given to the visual presentation as well as how each dish is described upon being eaten is reminiscent of Food Wars.

But whereas Food Wars is filled to the brim with crazy and intense competition, Restaurant to Another World is about anything BUT conflict. Sure, the customers can get a bit rowdy about which dish they think is the most delicious, but those arguments are easily quelled before they get out of hand. Rather, the restaurant serves as a place where people from different walks of life can come and relish in cuisine they are unable to prepare back home, all within the walls of a safe and relaxing environment. In fact, relaxing is the best way to describe this show. Between the ending theme and the soundtrack used throughout the series, along with the kind and understanding owner and employees of the shop, as well as lovely visuals, the show creates an atmosphere that can't help but put both the customers and the viewers at ease. Western Restaurant Nekoya is the sort of restaurant one would expect Studio Ghibli to open up in their museum: reminding one of the best aspects of their childhood, enabling them to relish their present, and giving them something wonderful to look forward to in the future.


Restaurant to Another World is not the most action-packed show, nor is it the funniest. It's just a simple, heartwarming concept that in my mind is executed brilliantly, simultaneously whetting my appetite and putting my mind at ease. To those who need a good pick-me-up, I cannot recommend this show enough.

If i explain Isekai Shokudou in a few words, it will be, "Anime that has story with deep fantasy that almost every character is like a child in adult body because when they going beyond that door, they will forget who and what they are."

If somebody ask me, what is your favorite 'relax' anime? I will say without hesitation, "Its Isekai Shokudou"
Now maybe some of you will ask why. I know that this anime is not perfect, but that what makes the anime so remarkable for me. From the first episode you should know what will this anime about. Yes its about restaurant that has ... 'bar' vibe. But why bar you ask? Well its because the customer always them again and them again, but as the story going we will know that they has a deep deep story that related each other. It is what makes me awe the show. Knowing what kind of world beyond Isekai Shokudou from each other different perspective are what makes me think its more awesome rather than we watch full one episode of them doing their things themselves and at the end of the episode they will go to Isekai Shokudou to eat and the ending credit starts.

Everytime the scene starts at Isekai Shokudou we know that we will be shown of new menu or food while some of the known food are eaten by their 'master'. What makes such scene success is beside the appetizing art but after they take the first bite and the violin OST played, its just so captivating. I think the music in this anime is what makes the anime success so much, without it, it will not be Isekai Shokudou we know.

Just having Isekai in the title doesn't give Isekai Shokudou the same trappings of the genre people have come to dislike over the years. Instead Isekai Shokudou focuses on the simplistic enjoyment that comes from eating food and the satisfaction that comes from partaking in a soothing weekly routine.

The show is centered around Restaurant with a magical door. Once a week the door connects the restaurant with other doors in a fantasy world. Because of this many people of different races, cultures, species can enter the Restaurant and enjoy it's food. The story begins when a poor half demon comes into the restaurant and ... is given a job after the owner sympathizes with her.

Isekai Shokudou reminds us the simple pleasures in life. The denizens of the fantasy world, who can only typically enjoy food cooked with their primitive technology, are captivated by what is on offer. Every episode is dedicated to a different dish and to people who enjoy the dish. We learn a bit about the struggles, aspirations, how they discovered the entrance to the restaurant and how waiting every week to enter the restaurant effects them. While the show is episodic at first, soon the lives of the visitors start to connect.

Character depth is not of the show's strengths however. The show has a large cast considering just how short it is. Thankfully the characters are well realized enough to give them a sense of identity within the context of the show. And as the show slowly starts to connect the lives of the various members of the cast, you get to see them in a new light.

The Artistic design of the show lacks anything truly unique. The same can be said about the music, which barely stands out. But what the show does manage to do perfectly is nail the atmosphere. It is, for the lack of a better word, relaxing. Watching an episode every week was a joy. And I will miss the show now that it stopped airing.

I can easily recommend the show to people who want something unique.

A restaurant where all are welcome regardless of who they are.


Story: It's small vignettes with some connection between them, about a restaurant on our world, and a magic doorway that open throughout another world, and those that come to the world to eat the food, it's very fun and enjoyable, each person has their own story;

art: it very much works, the amount of detail put into each food, and stuff reminds me of soma no shokugeki while not going quiet as over the top.

Characters: We mostly only see them in each episode outside of the background, but each ... one is detailed, and has their own little story wich is enjoyable.

Enjoyment and overall: I'm enthralled by this series and very much enjoying it, and looking forward for more episodes, I can't wait to see where this goes and what other dishes, and characters that we will meet.

This anime promised a lot in it's two first episodes.

I will review the most importants pros and cons of the serie to make this short and avoid any possible spoil.

Pros:

- Cooking anime, and it really likes to play with the viewer's senses of taste+smell+visual of the food.

- Few cliches, mostly a mature show, you won't find childish jokes or moments in this serie. Of course if you are aiming for a mature serie.

... For cooking plus ecchi and shounen i would recommend Shokugeki No Soma.

REPETITIVE

Story 4/10:

As i said, first episodes were very interesting, but the following ones didn't really bring anything new, the chapters begin the same way each one of them, which is like this:

A new costumer reaches the restaurant, then u are given a random flashback of his past/actual history, he tastes the food, makes some orgasmic faces, gets happy with the food, and that's the show till now. Not really any plot twists, any unexpected turn or events, or anything that could give some hint about if this show is going somewhere.

The art is average/ decent

Characters 6/10:

Most of the appearing characters aren't interesting in any single way, I mean elfs, minotaurs, a veteran warrior, we all have seen this before, bring something new for god sake. Except maybe for the morph dragon/women.

Enjoyment 6/10 (Might go down if the story just keeps going the same way)

It's interesting to watch if u are hungry or if u want a chill anime without hentai/violent or noisy content, but just that.

I never thought I’d like a “cooking show”—but the balance between ‘the fantasy world and the stories of either “Epics” (so to speak - though they are ‘mostly gaslighting’ for future plots) and Socio-Politically Oppressed “various-customers” (it’s a ‘restaurant’, ya know. Everyone is equal here) - each with their own tale, and each invariably having some kind of “connection of meaning” to the other customers (sometimes as a result of their “history”, but often simply due to sharing a ‘common sense of reality [zeitgeist]’ together that isn’t shared with ~our world~) - is so well-planned that each character doesn’t just get their own segment, but ... are tangibly connected both through ‘not only their “authentic-fantasy of Magic” Isekai-world’ but, also, through their interactions in the restaurant.

Though the show is seemingly about food, the food is but a mere medium for expressing the characters, their relations, and where they come from. Each food scene... it isn’t so much about the food as it is ‘the unadulterated exposure of the true character of each customer and their various tastes and, as a result of their detailed environment(s) (as always depicted in the show) and their values’.

A show with the facade of a ‘food show’, but is actually an interpersonal show of he various kinds of people of this “Isekai World” that’s full of much history (that we learn of) and many extremely different circumstantial characters.

10/10. Amazing show of story-telling (“food” only being the catalyst).

The premise of this show is very simple - exactly what the title says: Restaurant to another world. This is an episodic isekai showing off dishes made to treat isekai customers.

The characters are likable, the story isn't very complicated and the relationships of the characters aren't developed very in depth.

It's still really enjoyable and I recommend it as a "just watch it to relax and enjoy without thinking too much" show.

As the show is episodic, there is no real story line, and every episode generally has 2 different parts where the owner of the restaurant serves a great dish to a customer with some back ... story about the customer explaining why they're there and what they want in a dish.

This show reminded me of a simpler version of the show Bartender.

Man I love this anime so much

This anime reminds me of the reason why I watched anime in the first place. This is such a good and wholesome anime to watch whenever you feel down or bad in life. It gives me butterflies. I can't really put into words how much I enjoy this anime so much. The story is absolutely great. In each episode, you are introduced to another characters with different backgrounds and interesting stories. The art is absolutely amazing. The whole atmosphere of the anime is calming and fun. Every ... character in this anime I really liked. The food presented is amazing, even with a full stomach this anime makes me hungry again. Overall great anime, great art, and animation. 10/10

Let's clear one thing out of the way, this is practically an anime about food. It's entirely focused on the food and how it makes the people eating it feel. I do like how they always seem so surprised, and I have to say that I would be too if a random door to a nice restaurant appeared before me. But I too wouldn't question it too much and would happily go inside and try some of the food. I felt like it was a great show and I would highly recommend it for anyone. There was no blood, practically nothing dirty, and I loved ... how the chef's main determination was simply to cook food that people loved.

Music:
The intro and outro for this anime were exquisite. I loved how the intro was rather poppy with the outro being so peaceful. I felt like they did a great job with the voice acting and never over did it with the cute little moans or gasps of pleasure from eating the food, as some shows overdo it too much.

Characters:
I loved how it dived into the story of every character, giving them meaning and letting you connect to them in a friendly way that would make the dishes more relatable. I really also enjoyed how the development of the two waitresses grew and how we got to see them a little out of work.

Story:
I THOROUGHLY enjoyed how every single one of the dishes had a purpose, each one had a reason to be served to the person who was eating it. I loved how every episode had two dishes that were introduced, and the story of love behind each of the dishes that was connected to the characters. There were only a few ties between some of the episodes, otherwise I liked how each little episode was its' own little story.
