An anime adaptation of the seinen manga Sword Gai has been green-lit. The anime will be produced by DLE and Fields entertainment. The anime is expected to be released in Spring 2016.

The manga by Toshiki Inoue (story) and Wosamu Kine (art) follows the eponymous protagonist of the manga (Gai), an orphan who gets adopted by a swordsmith. He loses his right arm while forging a sword and gets a demonic sword, forged into a new arm, as a replacement. Now, he must fight countless enemies and a cruel fate.

The manga began serialization in late 2012 in Heroes.

Sounds a bit like Evil Dead, anime-fantasy version. A guy who fights evil and has a weapon in place of an arm.

Sounds like Highschool DxD

Toshiki Inoue? LMAO. Do yourself a favor and don't get your hopes up. Expect lots of needless "misunderstandings" that lead to tragic fates, along with intolerable jerks and some really awkward romances.

The Fafner sequel was announced in 2011, and it's finally coming out in January.

There's been worse cases, but this is an early announcement.

Sounds very interesting. I'll most likely watch it. And I say "most likely", because I'm probably gonna forget about this until Spring 2016. :P

Err... looking at that promo... he's a blacksmith right? Why's he in modern Tokyo... and the demons look wrong for the genre too. XD

Seems cool!
But wtf, 2016? Really?

It looks nice, but then again, could be the typical fantasy-seinen... Oh well. I guess we have a while to find out more about it.

Quite ironic...
Here's a 3DCGI promo for the manga released with the second volume.
It might not turn out this way, but there is a possibility for it...

Wow that indeed is ironic. It looked pretty nice though, though I still prefer 2D. The synopsis does sound very interesting, and I like the art style on the manga cover. Something to look forward to in 2016 :)
