Black Clover

Asta and Yuno were abandoned at the same church on the same day. Raised together as children, they came to know of the "Wizard King"—a title given to the strongest mage in the kingdom—and promised that they would compete against each other for the position of the next Wizard King. However, as they grew up, the stark difference between them became evident. While Yuno is able to wield magic with amazing power and control, Asta cannot use magic at all and desperately tries to awaken his powers by training physically.

When they reach the age of 15, Yuno is bestowed a spectacular Grimoire with a four-leaf clover, while Asta receives nothing. However, soon after, Yuno is attacked by a person named Lebuty, whose main purpose is to obtain Yuno's Grimoire. Asta tries to fight Lebuty, but he is outmatched. Though without hope and on the brink of defeat, he finds the strength to continue when he hears Yuno's voice. Unleashing his inner emotions in a rage, Asta receives a five-leaf clover Grimoire, a "Black Clover" giving him enough power to defeat Lebuty. A few days later, the two friends head out into the world, both seeking the same goal—to become the Wizard King!

Black Clover is one the greatest shonen anime out there. Its highs are higher than most shonen anime out there. It's able to bring hype and entertainment more effectively than a lot of series. It's beginning episodes are unfortunately a bit slow paced, but around 30 episodes in it becomes a fun ride. Each arc gets better and better. Elf reincarnation arc is top 5 shonen anime arcs of all time. It's a lot like other shonen anime, but it uses those tropes to the best of its ability, and it only makes the story stronger.

The anime adaptation is good. It has lows, as ... that's expected from a Pierrot anime but it's highs are truly remarkable. The legendary Yoshihara is able to elevate the Black Clover manga to new heights

Mixed Feelings

Black Clover is not a very unique anime. Even though the power system is good, you can compare some parts to other anime, such as Bleach or Hunter x Hunter. I really liked the first couple of episodes, a few in the middle, and the last arc, but the rest felt kind of basic. I can see why some people like the parts I thought were basic, especially younger people, but I still think there are better anime for them. Sometimes there were too many fights in a short period, making it repetitive. Overall, it's a good anime, and I'm excited for the next season ... in 2026.

There was some time i tried to take a break from One Piece and try something refreshing.I heard a lot of people were talking about this so i started it.The worst mistake of my life.I will never rely on reviews again.
It is a weak piece of art.It has almost zero originality.Let me tell you why.
It starts as a typical shounen with a loud main character who doesnt wanna give up and wants to achiece the best position there is.He lives in a world where people use magic, but he can’t.So he is chosen to get Guts’ sword and fight with it.
Then we get to see ... typical islands and missions that come one after another, like in a videogame.The dialogue is weak, the powers present nothing new: fire, darkness, light, time etc.
In my opinion, 2 out of 170 episodes were actually good(ep63 and 97). Everything else is some basic story i was familiar with since before watching it.
Anyway, if you’re new to anime you might like this.

For me it deserves 6/10.
