Manga: Oya Naru Mono Dangai

Oya Naru Mono Dangai
Both these stories take place on and around Hokkaido, mostly during the pre WWII period. The ideological struggles during that time form a part of the background and of some of the character's agendas. However, oppression, exploitation and death seem the most important common themes to me. Oya Naru Mono Dangai is somewhat more depressing, Kanikousen has a more positive outlook (maybe because the original author still had hopes for a brighter future at the time of writing 1929, and did not see what was coming).

Both are manga adaptations of pretty popular otome games, so they have a similar atmosphere in terms of the romance, and both of them are also about a female ninja and a bunch of male ninjas. Honestly, I'm writing this because I was trying to remember the title of one of them, and I kept finding the other, so, in terms of subject matter, I'd say they're pretty similar, even if only superficially.

Rental Kanojo
Ever wondered what if Rent A gf becomes a hentai? Introducing the not so original title names "Rental Kanojo", the story both focuses on a simp protagonist, this is what would most likely happen if Kanojo, Okarishimasu isn't bound by laws and censorship, the story would likely fall into the NTR route, but unlike in Rental Kanojoi, in Kanojo, Okarishimasu, it wouldn't probably have the ugly bastard tag, because Kanojo, Okarishimasu is much more realistic than Rental Kanojo.

Idol Dreams and Anonymous Noise are both shoujo manga where the main character is a girl who has some kind of tender, fond feelings for a boy she once knew. She's forced to forget about him however, as circumstances beyond her control show up and she also ends up being somewhat involved in music, with Idol Dreams having Chikage become an aspiring idol named Akari and Anonymous Noise heavily themed around singing and even a whole music band. Both manga just generally feel like they may have the same appeal for shoujo fans.

Manga: 31☆Idream

31☆Idream
Idol Dreams and Mistress Fortune are both magical-girl-esque shoujo manga created by Arina Tanemura. The main character is a girl who realizes she may have had a crush on a boy she knew for a long time... at possibly the worst timing ever. The two series may be very different in terms of premise and how they explore them, but any longtime fan of shoujo and/or Tanemura should try and give these a shot, at least for the manga-ka's art style, which is as dazzling as ever in either series.

Manga: 31☆Idream

31☆Idream
Idol Dreams and Cyber Idol Mink are two shoujo manga where the main character undergoes a new transformation into an eye-catching lady, quickly getting roped into the world of showbiz. There is a bit of a danger to this new situation, as the transformation comes with a time limit and possible trouble concerning the kind of technology/science that makes the MC transform, but a male character(s) aspiring somewhat in the industry convinces her to keep going. Expect some lovely shoujo art as you read.

Full Moon wo Sagashite
Manga: 31☆Idream

31☆Idream
Created by the same legendary shoujo manga-ka, Idol Dreams is pretty much a less-fantasy reverse Full Moon wo Sagashite—where the main character is a woman who is aged down to a 15 year old, as opposed to a sickly girl aged up to a 16 year old. Either way, her new form gains popularity as she is roped into showbiz as an aspiring idol. Since these are from Arina Tanemura, expect lots of pretty shoujo art to go along with a story that surprisingly features more thoughtful themes than at first sight... as well as suicide.

at first glance the two of them are similar, yet very different, for example, the one I recommended is about a dude who loves waifu but for some reason, he ended up as a villain character which led him to something quite catchy cringe. dunno, while the other is about a guy who "died" and ended up as a villain character and again, I don't think this kinda genre should exist although the story as a whole was average, and again it is quite worth to waste time

Usotsuki Satsuki wa Shi ga Mieru
Both feature a schoolgirl protagonist who can see things others can’t, related to death. Interestingly, each protagonist takes the opposite approach to their power. Mieruko tries to pretend she can’t see ghosts in order to protect herself from them; whereas Satsuki does not hide her power and has a reputation as a liar as a result. I will note that whilst both have comedic and serious moments, Usotsuki has a more somber and darker tone overall. Both also have GL undertones which is always a plus!
