Synopsis
Kimihiko Kimizuka has found himself inadvertently entangled in various crimes more times than he can remember, referring to himself as a magnet for trouble. One day, as if it was nothing out of the ordinary, a group of unknown men kidnaps him, forcing him to board a flight—where he also encounters a hijacking. Amid the resulting chaos, however, Kimizuka meets a stunning silver-haired beauty, going by the codename Siesta, who then saves the day.

Claiming to be a legendary detective, Siesta enlists Kimizuka to be her sidekick. Though Kimizuka refuses at first, with Siesta's insistence, he eventually joins her—marking the start of a grand adventure spanning the entire world, preventing multiple threats that could spell doom for humanity along the way.

Unfortunately, after three years of their unpredictable yet enjoyable time together, Siesta abruptly passes away. Distraught, Kimizuka tries to leave all memories of her behind, but as he begins to meet more people, it seems that Siesta's influence will never truly die. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

This gets a 2nd season while NGNL still hasn't. I'm starting to lose hope here.

TRUE.

Hopefully with S2 whoever is in charge actually wants to deliver a better adaptation?
I have yet to see the anime, but from what I read, I put my hopes on the LN first whenever I get to this series.
Oh I've watched about 3-4 episodes alright and it's bad. I don't read the LN but many people think it's way better than the anime (which isn't an achievement anyway).

in my experience this was a steaming pile of shit but if it's popular in Japan then it makes sense that it would receive a sequel

Reading the original LN made for an interesting story with good twists and a hopeful but tearful ending - how an anime studio interpretation does justice or injustice to it is up-to them. The plot was good enough for someone like A1 to have taken it on, sadly that’s not the case. After the LN I will try reading the manga.

The anime's SS1 is really bad and sketchy, I don't think it will have SS2. I hope the producer will be more prepared to develop the anime.

Definitely not going to watch this.

First season was ugly, horrible. That in this next season they change practically everything.

Nice excuse, but it still doesn't negate what I said.

idk how's taht an excuse but ok

This is an excuse, because the concept of "quality" anime is quite subjective and often depends on tastes or even mentality.

Most people are well aware that it is popular. People are just salty because the Japanese support franchises they don't like.

Yeah kinda confused about why people always say "why this anime get a sequel instead of other anime." well you have given the reason.

Anyway i kinda waiting for this one, just don't cut out a lot of scene from LN, character design already great, just take the time so you don't have to outsource it to small studio with 80% of it made by them. That's what i was hoping for

Well not a least bit excited but will only watch it for Siesta

I like how every complaint about "why didn't X get a sequel instead" lists an equally woeful show. It puts a nice bow on this whole ordeal.

Still, I'd say waste of effort, but the studio are hardly any good elsewhere so maybe letting them play with this is for the greater good.

After seing the usual ignorant top reviews with low scores on season 1, I knew people would be malding under this announcement, lol.
Like, if you don't like it, nobody told you to watch its second season lol.

Also why bring up Re Zero, it will literally get a S3 eventually, if not next year, in two years. They definitely will not let that one die. This isn't the right topic for that either way

Is this worth revisiting? I dropped the show after the first episode. I expected mystery but got

The LN art looks good though.

It's official, NGNL is the most popular anime to never get a S2.

One season was more than enough
