TV Tokyo opened an official website for a television anime adaptation of GungHo Online Entertainment's Ninjala video game on Thursday, revealing the main cast, staff, key visual (pictured), and theme song artists. The anime is scheduled to premiere on January 8 at 10:30 a.m on TV Tokyo and six affiliated stations.

Synopsis
The year is 20XX. The ninja, who once forged the history of Japan, were scattered across the country during the Meiji Restoration. As these ninja mingled with the other clans, their bloodline thinned, and they gradually faded from sight. The descendants of these ninja clans, seeking to preserve their heritage, formed the WNA (World Ninja Association) in the hope of carrying on their legacy.

And so it was that the WNA succeeded in developing Ninja-Gum, an art which could summon forth the strength of the Shinobi. And yet creating the most powerful Ninja-Gum requires the strongest of ninja DNA. So it was that the Ninjala Tournament was held, that the mightiest of all ninjas could be found... Dang! I played this game on release and made it to WORLD RANK #4

Love this game to pieces but I can’t see how this would play out in a TV series style…

Also, splat Pom has an actual manga series so why not adapt that? Still gonna watch it BUUT I’m gonna keep my expectations a little low for “story elements”

I mean, since The World Ends With You got a decent adaptation, why not this one?

Not the game that on the Nintendo Switch lineup that warrants an anime, but the game is already very popular in Japan enough.

You know, maybe just for the hell of it, why not. Could be a laugh, could be awful.

anyway haven't played the game and I've become more skeptical of video game adaptations recently so... yeah

Never played the game myself so i cannot really comment on the quality of the game either. And yeah i've become really skeptical now since we both know a certain anime adaptation really flopped for both of us.

And Clannad and Steins Gate are as of now, currently the only proof in my arguement on how adaptations of video games can be good.

I find it funny that while Arcane and Cyberpunk have been working on adaptations for years, in Japan they just say "hey, cool game, let's make an anime."
