A television anime adaptation of Mato Satou's Shokei Shoujo no Virgin Road (The Executioner and Her Way of Life) light novel was announced at the GA Fes 2021 event on Sunday. Warner Bros. Japan simultaneously opened an official website, revealing the lead cast and an announcement promo.

Voice actresses Iori Saeki (Lapis Re:LiGHTs, Nekopara) and Moeka Kishimoto (Shadowverse, BanG Dream! 3rd Season) are voicing Menou the Executioner and Akari, the Lost One, respectively.

Synopsis
The Lost Ones are wanderers who come here from a distant world known as "Japan." No one knows how or why they leave their homes. The only thing that is certain is that they bring disaster and calamity. The duty of exterminating them without remorse falls to Menou, a young Executioner. When she meets Akari, it seems like just another job...until she discovers it's impossible to kill this girl! And when Menou begins to search for a way to defeat this immortality, Akari is more than happy to tag along! So begins a journey that will change Menou forever... (Source: Yen Press)

Satou originally penned the novel under the title Munouryokusha no Tame no Cheat-goroshi: Shoujo wa Kono Sekai de Ikiru Tame, Shudan wo Erabanai Akunin ni Naru Koto wo Kimeta on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website. The title won him the Grand Prize at the 11th GA Bunko Awards in 2018, the first time in seven years Since DanMachi last won the prize in 2011. SB Creative began printing the fantasy adventure novel in July 2019, featuring illustrations by Nilitsu. The fourth volume shipped on August 6, with the fifth volume scheduled for a February 15 release.

Ryou Mitsuya began drawing a manga adaptation in Young Gangan last June. Square Enix will ship the first volume on February 9. Yen Press licensed the light novel in English last September and plans to release the first volume on March 9.

An actual yuri isekai, those are almost non-existent, I just hope it's good.

Pretty sure, that Otherside Picnic would qualify.

I guess it's not just sales that increases when you have such a long title huh...

Im in this anime and manga world just because of Yuri so Im in. I love the premise. Its kinda refreshing for me to have a MC with such a twisted and badass personality from the start. Im loving this so yeah, I hope anime adaptation's gonna give justice to the LN.

very cool plot, can't wait to see. I often watch different films and then write about them with the help of a good resource and I like to watch something new, the anime genre is very interesting to me, then I want to write an essay on this topic and present it to the cinematography teacher

Seems to be fairly different from the shlock and the main girls don't look too bad, I think I'll try it.

how the hell does "Virgin Road" translate to "Her Way of Life?"

i get more & more perplexed about these choices made by publishers.

Not sure about the Ability, but is Spider was yuri? As far as I remember, female lead likes older man. Or are we talking about something else? Did you mean just isekai with female lead?

I have nothing against this title, but my butt burns a little due to the fact that people are literally ready to love and appreciate even what they hate, if it is yuri.

Oh, sorry I meant modern isekai with female lead.

Some yuris do get backslash from the community when they are really holow, like Citrus and Netsuzou Trap (school melodramas with ecchi), but overall, they are just way so tolerant, compared with others.

To be honest, I still don't understand why people don't like Citrus so much. For me personally, this is a rather gentle erotic yuri. Although, maybe I should see some fresh yuri? I usually don't watch this without the right mood, but if you have any advice ...

Yes, but most are Otome Villainess Isekai types. They do have harems (some even bissex harems, like hamefura, or hetero ones, like When the Villainess Loves), but are mostly romcons, or just fantasy slice-of-life ones.

Very few are action ones. Ability Average is the only one I remember. And that one was kind of a goofy comedy. Oh, and the Spider one.

But you're right, hypocrisy is noticeable.

Non-extent? Lol, this started as soon as isekai became a trend.

Also, it's pretty funny to read how the isekai harems-hating crowd immediately fell in love with it just because it's a yuri.

I would have prefered "Roll over and Die" but I'll take it.

Hmmm... Not sure if this will be interesting enough, but @Yuri-Crusader will love this anime as long there's no male characters present in this anime.
