Kadokawa launched an official website for an original sci-fi anime series titled Deca-Dence on Friday. The website revealed the first promotional video, a teaser visual (pictured), and the main staff members.

Yuzuru Tachikawa, known for directing Death Parade and both seasons of Mob Psycho 100, is helming the series at animation studio Nut. Hiroshi Seko (Ajin, Inuyashiki) is writing the script.

Shinichi Kurita (Bokura wa Minna Kawai-sou) is designing the characters based on illustrator pomodorosa's character concept designs. Masahiro Tokuda (Juushinki Pandora) is composing the music.

Studio Nut produced its first anime project Youjo Senki (The Saga of Tanya the Evil) in 2017—an adaptation of Carlo Zen's fantasy military light novel of the same title. The studio recently collaboration with Production I.G and Revoroot on FLCL Alternative last year.

Finally Studio Nut, was waiting for another anime of theirs. After the greatness of Youjo Senki, wonder what are their plans with this one

They worked on FLCL with Production IG and Revoorot in 2018 though.

Sounds great! Studio NUT is now making its move to produce more anime. I wish it would be more promising like Youjo Senki.

Hopefully, it will be as visually appealing as Youjo Senki was. I have faith in Nut

This has incredible Bounen no Xamdou vibes. From the Steampunk feel, to the almost Ghibli-Bones esque animation, I'm especting great things from this.

I love the director! I will watch this!

Idk about Ajin but Inuyashiki was GREAT.

So imo, we have a great director AND great script writer.

I like it! The setting reminds me of mortal engines (Which was trash btw) I hope this show is way more successful.

Finally a new good looking original anime. You can say what you want about Kadokawa, but at least they produce a lot of good or interesting looking anime. And even better, it's from the incredibly talented director behind Death Parade and the Mob adaptation.

Indeed. Many great original anime came from their funding/production and in just this week they announced 3, counting with this.
