The official website of light novel Biblia Koshodou no Jiken Techou (The Case Records of the Biblia Secondhand Bookstore) has announced on Friday that the series will receive both an anime and live-action film adaptation.

Synopsis
Hidden away in a corner of Kamakura is an unassuming secondhand bookstore, the Biblia Antiquarian Bookshop. Shinokawa Shioriko, the owner of the shop, is an overly shy young and beautiful woman who doesn't fit the image of a used bookstore and often has trouble interacting with customers.

While customer service isn't her strong point, she more than makes up for it in other ways. Using her exhaustive knowledge and unrivaled passion for literature, she unravels the secrets and mysteries of the antiquarian books that come into her shop.

This is a story of secrets and rare books. (Source: Nanodesu Translation)

Biblia Koshodou no Jiken Techou is written by En Mikami with illustrations by Hagu Koshijima, and has been publishing under the Media Works Bunko label since March 2011. ASCII Media Works has published six volumes of the novel with the seventh volume scheduled to be released on February 25. A manga adaptation drawn by Nakano was initially serialized in Altima Ace in February 2012, which later moved to Monthly Asuka in December 2012 until it concluded in July 2014 with six volumes. A second manga adaptation drawn by Ryou Kouda has been serialized in good! Afternoon magazine since July 2012. Kodansha published the third compiled volume of the manga in January 2014.

The series currently has over 6.4 million copies in print, and was nominated for the Japan Mystery Writers Association Award's "Long Story" category in 2012 and 2014. It has previously been adapted into a live-action TV series, which aired in 11 episodes on Fuji TV between January and March of 2013. Crunchyroll began streaming the series in November 2014.

Has anyone read the LN or watch the live action? Is it purely episodic or has an overarching story? (from the synopsis looks like episodic to me)

It kinda is, but not PURELY. Thete is something lurking behind the scenes, a greater mystery. My favorite LN up to date

I'm happy, happy, happy. My comment may look like it's written by a calm person. But in actuality, I'M FREAKING OUT HERE!!!!! FINALLY IT GETS SOME GUCKING RECOGNITION!

I read the first chapter, and It was really beautiful, actually amazing. I can see how it's popular over there in Japan. I hope the movie is faithful and great with top notch animation.

If it isn't then there's a whole load of places that are wrong. Like the source for this news article. Or the Media Works Bunko website. Or the official website for Biblia.

Well, thanks for the point out. The reason is simple. I didn't check the source and the page here states nothing about anime being a movie. And I was under impression that it would be a TV but then when I went to anime page it showed as Movie. One more reason I don't want it to be a movie is, look at "Bungaku Shoujo" and we all know what went wrong.

Ok MAL, is this a TV series or Movie? Your page says it is a movie but are you sure about that?

When they said "unrivaled passion for literature" they really mean it.
As long as they don't screw up and cut corner this show will put you at the edge of your seat.

Oh, I've heard about it a few years ago, it is apparently super popular in Japan. I certainly hope there is a good reason for it. Excited to see more info about the anime adaptation!

Sounds amazing. As a bookworm, I'm SO looking forward to it. Plus introverts MCs just easily win my heart.

Will this be about all kinds of literature or Japanese only?

I always see this topping the Light Novel charts year in year out. Will finally be able to see what it's all about.

Cool, thought they wouldn't do an anime after all this time, but films work out too.

Been reading this from time to time. A pleasant news as I look forward to watching this for sure.

hmm, sounds really boring, this all takes place in a bookstore? pass.

This was a surprise. To the point that when I first read the news (about half an hour ago) I thought the poster was joking.

I stopped reading the novel as it didn't seem like my sort of thing, but I'll probably try the anime. I might have just not given it enough of a chance.

Holy moly, I read Biblia 2 yeara ago, due to yeah, curiosity as the LN sales were as good as Nutella. It was good just as I ecpected. However translation was slow so I put this behind, I never expect to be reminded by this kind of news, a good news while at it.
