Lol every single manga series in the top 30 on this list has an anime adaptation except Orange. Looks like Nanatsu no Taizai broke the 10M mark too, nice.

Nanatsu above SnK? This is a travesty. Well at least Prison School is up there, so it softens the matters

Damn One Piece is practically unstoppable. It's also nice to see OPM at number 11. I'm sure the anime helped it out a lot.

Is it me or the LN sales this year are especially good? THe cut off seems quite higher than usual. And wow those danmachi sales. They were truly successfully in their business model with this one.

Judging by the ranking of kono light novel ga sugoi 2016 that can be found a little lower on this news board, Hestia isn't even the favourite female character of LN readers in that series.
Loli with big boobs is mostly pleasing the anime watchers. LN readers won't really care because there is almost no ecchi (like 2 scenes in 5 volumes) anyway so big boobs are not isn't going to change a thing... Those bouncing things only bounce in that anime adaptation you know. Especially since Hestia's screentime % was artificially extremely increased in the anime. In the LN, she's irrelevant to the story in like half the arcs.

Dang places 3,4,5 were really close, pretty sure Kingdom will pass them all next year and end on place 2.

Looks like Gintama's new anime didn't help that much, it couldn't even push into top 20, or even pass Bleach lol.

These results please me, not that they weren't unexpected. One Piece still going strong! Also really happy for Ass Class, Attack on Titan, Haikyuu, Seven Deadly and Food Wars.

Oricon did count it, this year had 53 weeks. They just went ahead and released this list the third monday after the 52nd week like they always do, even though it had 53 weeks.

Fab to see One Piece at the top again, never doubted it. Pretty much unstoppable.

Fab to see the boosts for Shokugeki, Prison School and Kingdom up there. The former 2's anime adaptations worked a treat whilst that show (not quite sure of the name) gave Kingdom a massive boost. Elsewhere Fairy Tail, Nisekoi and Diamond no Ace remaining consistent.

As for LNs:

Disappointed that DanMachi just pipped Mahouka to number one but Mahouka's main boost was last year with some rolling into this. Yahari impressing yet again. Elsewhere nice to see Accel World, Date A Live and SAO still going strong.

Shame no High School DxD on the list but completely understandable since so few volumes have been released in the time period (2 and 1 DX book). The latter would be counted seperately anyway.

27. *,234,809 Shinmai Maou no Testament

Anime has done it's job which is fab to see. Shame it's not higher though but smaller number of volumes might contribute to that as well.

So much emotions :'(
*4. *,927,413 Overlord

GOOD LORD :O
This is one hell of a cutoff line.
Even vol 9 which has over 110K sales didn't make it :'(

97. *,124,208 Overlord Vol.1
(cut-off 122,854)

Estimates for the other volumes:
Vol 2; 95K+
Vol 3; 90K+
Vol 4; 75K+
Vol 5; 75K+
Vol 6; 70K+
Vol 7; 70K+
Vol 8; 110K+
Vol 9; 110K+

Now that Kingdom is losing the boost it got in 2015, it's never going to reach those kind of numbers again.

OPM was inches away from reaching the Top 10.

TG increased compared to last year but still got defeated by SNK.

Gintama with the new anime and cant beat Bleach.

OP is still the King of Kings.

Kingdom can get those numbers again if it has more anime content. But if it's the status quo with no anime etc. it probably won't even get half of what it got this manga sales year.

If Nisio wrote more Monogatari volumes between the aforementioned timeline, it would've easily ranked higher and probably in the top 10.

DanMachi above Mahouka? Oh man..

Kingdom, TG sales might drop next year.

Bleach sales will definitely get worse, Magi might follow that path as well.

I agree with the poster that said FT has the most loyal fanbase, those are probably the fans that follow the manga because of the FS lol.

The two anime it had didn't even let it sell a third of this, I don't even get how you can think it can sell 8 million again.

If someone told me that a Vol of Tokyo Ghoul would sell a million before the anime. I would think they're nuts or completely delusional.

Sui Ishida is drowning in money. 4 Vols of Re sold almost 4 million and that's not even adding the original series which would put it at 6th beating Haikyuu.

Boku no Hero is also doing surprisingly good for a new series... damn the boost from the anime next year could possibly match the NNT one.

This is nice, I was wondering how it did, don't think any volume made it on the rankings during the airing of the anime.
Very nice.

Also, SAO: Progressive anime when?

the only way it can achieve this again is with a new anime adaptation done properly

Expecting Kingdom to sell 8 million again is like expecting SNK to have another 1 million+ per volume boost. Less than 1% chance of happening imo.

Forgot to include NNT to the list of series that will have a decrease of sales.
